The only recognized body that is responsible for overseeing whether any country is carrying out a nuclear weaponization or a nuclear project (full stop) is the IAEA. To date, the IAEA has found no evidence of a nuclear weapons project in Iran.

The Iranian nuclear program began in the mid-70s - before the revolution. Why did the West support the nuclear program in Iran in the mid 70s, and then stopped right after the revolution? Did they not have the oil you speak of then?

@mancity1000 Secondly, I would suggest you look at this story of Iran getting nuclear weapons within a timeline of years. It has been there since the 1990s. In those days, there were reports from Washington and some European capitals that Iran would have nuclear weapons within 5 years; some went for a ticking bomb within 24 months. We're now in 2010, there is still no evidence, and the same story is doing the rounds. If you want any resources to go through, let me know; I'd be more than happy.
