  • CHARLOTTE!! THE QUEEN CITY!! WE continue to grow in a recession look that up! WE ARE THE SH**!!

  • @krucifixproductions i see by your profile picture but i love Charlotte i need to take a trip back their im think about this or next mounth Raleigh is my collage city im living in Fayetteville right now

  • Kiethjohnson20988, metro Atlanta has over 5million people metro charlotte has under 2million. Look it up. An yes U have to count suburbs where people live and work.

  • Dallas Tx is shiting on both cities even if u put both together. U can't compare charlotte to atl either. U need to compare it to Indianapolis or cincinatti or maybe even Tampa . Atl is far to large to compare charlotte to.

  • @johnhollis54 okay first of all Charlotte has more people than Atlanta and second of all to put on top of that this is about Raleigh and Charlotte not Atlanta not Indy noo Raleigh and Charlotte

  • GLENWOOD SOUTH RULES! DOWNTOWN RALEIGH IS THAT PLACE !

  • great idea here...crappy presentation imo...

  • @BigVOLdaddy The low res images made my head twist off and explode.

  • @harlesslee if that really happen well not my problem

  • Charlotte has way more beauty in architecture, culture, museums, live performance theaters, the banking industry which is 2nd largest next to NYC and is large enough to host the Democratic National Convention in September 2012 to say the least. Charlotte needs to be compared to Atlanta or a larger city since it continues to grow, even in this difficult market. by ---swimbod06---

  • Raleigh is a nice town, very attractive and friendly, but comparing it to Charlotte is like comparing a mole hill to a mountain. They're nothing alike, and which one is better depends on what you like. If you like a nice, clean, attractive town then Raleigh /Durham is cool....but if you like living in a far busier, much larger and more urban ( including pollution, far better shopping /nightlife, and crime ) place then Charlotte is the place.

  • Charlotte is clearly a better Skyline. This is mainly because Raleigh is extremely spread out.

  • @NCSportsMan70 whats do raleigh being spread out have to do with anything i mean downtown raleigh has more people than uptown charlotte

  • @keithjohnson20988 Raleigh is not all together with a bunch of tall buildings that make a nice skyline, it is just a bunch of buildings that happen to be extremely spread out.

  • @NCSportsMan70 have you even drove in downtown raleigh i mean like they got mosy of the buildings on fayetteville street aka main street of raleigh also fayetteville street says my hometown of fayetteville north carolina

  • @keithjohnson20988 I don't think you realize how far Raleigh's borders reach. I have a Raleigh address and I am at least 10 miles from downtown Raleigh.

  • @NCSportsMan70 Not to mention, the metro area, that only includes Raleigh and Cary, is over 1million. If you include Durham and all of the other bedroom communities, which butt against the city, the population is more like 2.5 million. The metro area of Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, really somewhat extends all the way down to Fuquay-Varina and over to Wilson and upwards, to Hillsboro and Chapel Hill. We're talking about one hell of a populated area. The traffic sucks though.

  • @harlesslee Wilson is not in Raleigh Metro or the Triangle

  • @keithjohnson20988 Sorry! lol. Meant to say Garner, not Wilson. Good eye.

  • @harlesslee from Garner up to Wake Forest is exactly what I was trying to say. OK, done. I'm out. Raleigh RULES! Charlotte drools.

  • @NCSportsMan70 I live in Apex and I feel like I live JUST outside Raleigh. I'm in the city, within minutes.

  • @harlesslee Yeah, I live in between Knightdale and Clayton, but i'm in downtown Raleigh pretty quick. I live in the country but I have the luxuries of living in a city. It's really unique and I love it.

  • @keithjohnson20988 nice video... but count again. Uptown Charlotte has has many more people living here, and working here....than downtown Raleigh. Many, many more. Including me. Thanks.

  • @jdfox1 not really downtown raleigh has more people than downtown charlotte and more people work in downtown raleigh than uptown charlotte

  • @keithjohnson20988 yes really. I live in uptown Charlotte....and work in uptown Charlotte, and it's far more populated than Raleigh. Much more. Come visit sometime and see for yourself, and enjoy your stay. Thank you.

  • I like BOTH, they look real nice

  • Charlotte Destroys Raleigh. Raleigh Is a nice city, but Charlotte is much larger. Even though you posted mainly old pictures of Charlotte's Skyline, The old Skyline of Charlotte is still much more impressive than Raliegh's. I mean c'mon, Charlotte's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tallest are all taller than Raleigh's Tallest. Charlotte has better options for Transportation, entertainment, and Shopping. Plus it's a beautiful city, although Raliegh is pretty as well. Both great cities. Charlotte just better.

  • I live in Raleigh, its a big ass town, you have 6 blocks of a downtown which shuts down at 4 pm and a good entertainment strip in glenwood which is very cliche' in itself

  • @8H0P4 Lol! you're reaching...I live in Raleigh as well, I'm originally from DC, and have visited Charlotte plenty of times myself. They both offer great things, Charlotte is a bigger city, with a more urban feel, but Raleigh's nightlife has gotten SO much better!

I was just downtown/glenwood area two weekends ago, and had a blast, didn't get back in until around 3:30am (lol). DT Raleigh is still very much alive between 12-2:00am imo

  • Sorry Raleigh But..Charlotte Wins..Even with the news media hype of how Raleigh is #1 in best cities to live.....Charlotte is just Awesome. Both Cities offer that Small town feel ...but Charlotte has alot more to offer.

  • @redcat900 Raleigh is just way more spread out.

  • charlotte is the biggest city in north carolina

  • I've lived in both cities. The cost of living is cheaper in Charlotte. It is more urban/dense. I personally enjoy all that Charlotte offers over Raleigh aesthetically, entertainment wise, culturally, the pace, diversity, etc. Though Raleigh is a great place for a wide range of career/education opportunities with the research triangle, Duke, NC State, UNC. Raleigh is quieter and a little more community oriented. Both are great cities, my personal favorite city in North Carolina is Cary.

  • Raleigh has been receiving a lot of praise in the national media lately....about it's quality of life and opportunities offered, not it's visual appeal. I'm not sure as to why you wanted to use skyline shots of the cities as comparison. Raleigh is outdated, small and unimpressive in that consideration. Charlotte's in a whole different league...much taller, much wider, many more highrises and far more modern and progressive. Charlotte's eye-candy. Congrats on Raleigh's latest accolades though.

  • @southparkline1 Sorry, I forgot to ask, which one u think has the cheapest cost of living?

  • @amaflowerinc well i think charlotte north carolina but raleigh nc made it to number 1 city to live by best school collages and rtp but charlotte is cheaper to me

  • @keithjohnson20988 it depends on the area of the city you move...

  • @amaflowerinc Raleigh is most deff the cheaper city to live in!

  • @southparkline1 Thanks! I appreciate your opinion. U r telling me details that I did'nt know and will be very imp in my decision. I hope to decide soon but I think Charlotte could be the one =)

  • Raleigh is the administrative center for the state, charlotte is the financial center

  • What a coincidence! I want to relocate in NC pretty soon but I’m still trying to decide between Raleigh or Charlotte. I know there’s more action in Charlotte and Raleigh is kinda peaceful, but I would like to hear more opinions. Hope u guys can give me some help, thanks! =)

  • @amaflowerinc It really depends, Charlotte has lots of transplants because of the banks and it has less and less of a Southern feel in its people and has really diversified its culture. Both cities I have noticed the people are very polite, people actually are a lot more patient then what I have experienced elsewhere. Charlotte has more the Urban vibe, especially in center city, but outside of the city they are very similar. I would recommend CLT because I was born there but that is my opinion.

  • @amaflowerinc Charlotte would be better all around.

  • Having spent a lot of time in both cities, IMHO Charlotte crushes Raleigh in every aspect of a city, very large companies, population, NFL and NBA, mass transit, night life, Airport, and entertainment. Raleigh on the other hand has some great universities, roads, less congestion, NHL, and is the state capital.. There has always been a rivalry between the two and they are both very progressive cities. Without the 2 NC would be a much different state and I am happy how both have developed.

  • @southparkline1 Did you go too Glenwood South in Raleigh ?

  • @MrRalboi919 Yes I have, it is a very nice part of the city, reminds me of Historic South End or NoDa in Charlotte because of the mix of old wharehouses and mills with new sleek modern buildings. (NoDa is the arts district in CLT and South End is the area with a condo/office boom because of the Light Rail line) Either way the mix of building styles makes for a very cool look.

  • @southparkline1 One more question did you go their at night?

  • @MrRalboi919 That is a negative, although I am sure it is cool at night.

  • @southparkline1 And Charleston is way more progressive than Raleigh due to its financial and corporate clout.
