just as long as you don't set the amp too close to your television, the magnets in the speakers can pull the color out of the picture. i personally like the idea of having amps in my living room. they make grate coffee tables when your just sitting around watching TV or whatever... as long as there not staked relay high.
@Bad55Taco he is optiistic and looks to the future =) why pay $100-$300 bucks on a small amp now if i believe i'll eventually have a reason to own a stack. i'm not great yet but i'm getting a gibson les paul for christmas
What is this? The guilded age? The only reason someone would need this is to say "hey. I have a shit ton of money and feel like showing through it my investments." I saw Jeff Beck in Nashville at the Ryman. Not a huge venue. Maybe seats 1500 people. He almost blew the roof off with a marshall HALF stack. And even when he practices he uses little blues Juniors and other small amps. What makes you think you really need a full stack in your living room?
@ghost500e ermm no the things on top of the speaker is called a head and instead of using a mixer he plugged in the speakers in the heads instead and the noise comes from both of them :P
@RigorMortis203 That's a very subjective topic. Mesa amps aren't for everybody. I personally, would prefer an ENGL Blackmore or Powerball as opposed to a Mesa. That's just me though.
@DeathMetalAngel123 But dude, look at that stack, even has a spare head, if he sold all of that stack, he could buy or a Mesa, Engl, Diezel or even a Bugera.
@RigorMortis203 Yes, he does have a spare head and it is true that if he sold that gear he could buy one of the amps you've mentioned. However, if he is happy with the gear he has and can get a sound that he likes out of his Marshall, then that is all that matters. If you look, lots of the bigger name musicians (not saying he is one) have a couple more of the same amp. On the Death Magnetic studio videos, one of the guys had two Diezel VH-4s (?) stacked on top of each other in a rack.
@RigorMortis203 As the one-time owner of a Mesa, i disagree sir. Marshall amps are for one thing, major authority at very loud volumes. If you aren't playing concert halls of several hundred people you don't need a Marshall nor will you be able to tap into the Marshall mojo at rehearsal or home volumes. Mesa's have one good overdrive sound that is not versatile although its usable, clean tones are good only with reverb, they are noisier than an airport and their headroom is non-existent
@JamesNiskyMusic I would disagree. The new marshals that marshall has come out with use power attenuation technology called epa. So you can dime the master and volumes but set the epa really low as low as .01 of a watt and still get that good power tube distortion at bedroom volumes. Since this technology has gotten good responses I wouldn't be surprised if they made it a permanent feature in there newer amps.
Its been a while since this was posted, so here are responses to some comments...yes, I play in a band, so its not just decoration or vanity...I wasnt facing the camera because I didnt know it was being recorded, my wife filmed on a digital cam w/ condenser mic...I live in the burbs, the closest neighbor is 100 ft away...its in the living room because it's the easiest place to load out from...I stand in front of it because it sounds best, cabs project in a straight line and it rattles ur chest!
Very "sweet" Marshall stack, great vid...5*s! If you're gonna do it, do it right like yourself...in front of a full-stack! There's nothing like standing in front of 8 speakers being driven by an awesome amp (well perhaps having more than 8 speakers...lol). Rock on man!!
Personally, I think the Roland Cube is a good buy. I have the 60 watt version and it rocks! About £220 for the 60 watt, but there is a 40 and a 20 watt version.
I play pretty much anything, from Chuck Berry to Metallica. There are loads of effects built in, like Flanger, Phaser, Delay, Reverb and Chorus. There is a very nice JC Clean tone, and 8 preset amp sounds, including R-Fier, which is a really high gain amps for thrash metal, Classic for stuff like Purple Haze, Metal for... well, metal, and Dyna Amp, which has varying distortion depending on how hard you pick. All in all it's very versatile and worth your money. (it can be bloody loud too!)
I have a marshall JCM 900 hi gain duel reverb and a JCM 2000 TSL 100 and use them both with a 1960 lead cab and they both sound completly diffrent i would love a 2203 and have a 1960 TV cab then i would be pritty happy (:
forget that stupid guy, when i see his comment, y just figure it out, he have to be argentinian Hahhaa, argentinians peoples is always like that...... so sad.
and only latin american peoples plays the guitar thru the computer hhhaa, couse they dont have money to buy some amps :)
um you dont unless you want serious damage. if you want to use two heads at once, connect one head to one cab and the other head to the other cab for a stereo effect. that easy. here he's just using one of the heads going into (im guessing) both cabs.
oh youre saying how would you accually send a signal from the guitar through multiple heads at once right? well i dont know how he does it but i would use a splitter box (easily home-made) with one input and 6 outputs with a cable going from each output to a seperate head.
hey that was sick, oh and this might sound dumb but how do u use to heads at once? is one head wired to one cabinet and the other head to the next cab? how would u do it with one cab
he's only using one of the heads, as you can see the light is only on on one of the heads, when playing live it's good to have 2 heads because there are alot of things that can go wrong with a valve head.
1 way to is to buy a stero Chorus pedal. they run any were from 20 $ to 180 $. wat this pedal does is it allows you to put 1 guitar signal into 2 amps. ( heads in this case). hope this helps.
