  • This is great! I just saw the movie "Vertigo" and was thinking about the locations some of the scenes were shot in, and I found this video. I was thinking how much they could have changed throughout all the years...

  • I have been to San Fran twice. However, I was with people that have never seen the film so I didn't see any of the sights. The whole time I heard the hermann score in my head.

  • I love your video. I just watched the movie and it was great to see what these places look like now. Thank you!

    I love YouTube.

  • Thank you from France for this great video .

Can't wait to see theses places with my proper eyes .

  • This is surreal, compared to the film almost nothing has changed. As far as I know, this is no. 2 of all times, after "Citizen Kane".

  • Great upload! I guess the McKittrick Hotel is not even worth showing now, huh?

  • I'm very surprised at how little change there is between these sites now and at the time of the movie shoot.

  • Fantastic video! Would have been nice to have the scenes in the movie spliced in though, for comparison.

  • @ultrabrilliant

Thanks for your comment and your good suggestion.

  • Very nice video. Have been in SF and seen these locations too.

  • This movie is my all time favorite Alfred Hitchcock film. <3

  • Great video, I have been by each one of these places many times as I have lived in San Francisco for the last 15 years.

I never knew all these where in the movie.

Thanks for sharing it with us

  • Thanks for your comments about the video. How lucky you are to live in San Francisco. It's one of my favourite cities, and I try to visit as often as I can. From what I have read, it was Hitchcock's favourite city too.

  • Thank you for this beautiful vid featuring the filming locations of Vertigo.

Hitchcock made some fantastic movies during his long career, but Vertigo was his masterpiece!

  • Thanks for your comments about the video. I agree completely with you about Vertigo being Hitchcock's masterpiece. A lot of people think that it's also one of the greatest films ever made: I certainly do.

  • Thanks for your congratulations. Do you live in San Francisco? Did you choose roughly the same time of day as the film when making this movie?

  • Hi,

I live in England, but have visited SanFrancisco many times. It's one of my favourite cities in the world. I can't wait to return!

The locations were shot more or less at the same time: late morning and afternoon.

Hope your stay there goes well. You need strong legs though; those hills can be pretty challenging!

  • Great video - well done. I'm spending part of my honeymoon in San Francisco this year

and intend visiting the Vertigo locations.

  • Thanks for your comments and congratulations on your wedding. Hope that you enjoy San Francisco.

  • Great. I love Vertigo, it's the best movie ever!

  • Thanks for your comment. Vertigo is also my favourite film and San Francisco my favourite city.

  • I have never been there, but I will someday

  • @Vinther1991 Me too.

Great video. Thankyou for the HD.
