Here's some music theory for you, if it sounds good, it is good. There is no right or wrong way to play a bass...If you can hit the strings with a potato on a stick and make it sound good...Fucking do it. There are no rules...Once upon a time, there were these people who couldn't afford instruments, so they used record players and buckets and started rhyming stuff over it and called it rap. @DarknerdMMO Its called a bass guitar because its a guitar in the bass range of instruments, it's an octave below a 'classical guitar'. It is usually tuned the same way as an 'upright bass' but this doesn't mean it's the same instrument with the body of a guitar.

This IS a guitar and he's not playing it wrong because he's not breaking any rules in music theory.
