There was no neglect. The children were all left alone, no babysitter, door unlocked and it was all deliberate. It was the ONLY scenario where they could pretend a stranger had abducted her. To this day there is no evidence whatsoever of an abduction. A lot of people know what happened here and in my opinion its far more disturbing than simple murder.....
It is illegal in Portugal too. In any undeveloped, semi-developed or developed country laws exist that make it CRIMINAL offence to do that and if the criminal neglect results in DEATH, the parents must be tried and must face the consequences.

But as the man says, in your home, it's ok to walk to the mailbox at the end of your driveway while your toddler is napping or in the playpen long enough to get the mail or say take the dog out for a quick potty break. And yes, those baby monitors are wonderful things & things we used even inside b/c our house is rather large, we used the monitor indoors

And yes, those baby monitors are wonderful things & things we used even inside b/c our house is rather large, we used the monitor indoors
