I searched for this video because I've been listening to an XTC song that legendary Andy Partridge wrote for an album, but he ditched it because he saw this song on Sesame Street and it was too similar...!!

For those interested the song is called 'This is the End' and was originally gonna be the last song on the 'Oranges & Lemons' album. Brilliant song. Cookie Monster ripped him off!

I especially love how the sky changes from blue to red as the song gets more optimistic and how that little starburst appears at the top of the sky at the very end, very symbolic of pride and hope :) The best part had to be the little "just to give birth to blues" pun in the second verse XD

I just love this song. It's kind of like "Bein' Green", in that a character sings about his color in a song that starts out rather sad and depressing and then gradually turns into a song of pride and contentment.

This is definitely one of Cookie Monster's finest hours.
