I really could benefit from product junkie rehab (lol, lol) I don't think that I'll ever be cured though. How else can I find out what really works for me if I don't purchase new products and experiment. I really enjoyed your review and think that I will be purchasing the Cantu Shea butter.
@tammymarykay1 - Thanks for watching, chica There is NOTHING wrong with trying new products and experimenting. You're absolutely right, but I had gotten out of hand....really. It was sick. I still try stuff, but I'm much more reasonable in my purchases. Let me know how the Cantu Shea butter works out for you. It can flake when used with certain gels. Watch out for that. Peace and blessings to you.
Thanks so much. You are super intelligent and super lovely. You seem to be on your way to fixing your problem. I have just realized that I have been taking terrible care of my hair and the light bulb has gone on. I have started buying products recently and although I know I have the 4 or 5 products that I need for now I'm still looking for more!! I think after your vid, I will stop and at least see if these will work. Thank you for your insights.
We as natural women, African American women, have great power in which way the hair product industry goes. Let's use our dollar wisely. Thanks for this video. I must admit, haven't tried half that stuff, cept IC Fantasia and it's the best. No flakes, no hard, crispy and leaves hair shiny.
I have not heard of it. What have you heard about it? I should look into it, although, I'm really trying not to buy much more. How long have you been natural?
i used to go to the beauty supply and buy a lot of stuff all the time then i started collectingdiff types of make up lmao! u should mail me some of that stuff u dnt use!
Yeah, I'm trying not to do the make-up thing. I've never worn makeup, but have started to become a little interested...NOT GOOD! The hair thing is bad enough, but I've got it all under control now :D
LOL.....my Mama has the leave-in girl Ojon and though it smells like an old woman, I LOVE USING IT!!! U r hilarious tho. U had a relapse....I still got ur back tho gurl.
This is a great video, I am K.I.S.S. I am in transition and I have 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners, 1 leave-in conditioner. EVOO, and , IC gel, and Shea butter. Luckily I do not have to worry about curl definition. I committed myself to no more products unless something doesnt work, but I do have a "Dream Team List" that I promised not to by, will power!!!!!
Well my current reg is Giovanni Tea Tree Tripple Treat Shampoo, Smooth as Silk and Direct Leave in Condish, Organix Coconut Milk Condish, EVOO, and SHea Butter. Pre- BC Dream Team is Komaza Healing Hair line, Oyin Honey Hemp condish and Juices and Berries. My Post BC Dream List is the Oyin Handmade Line, Komaza Califa Line, and Kinky Curly. I will continue to use my Shea Butter, Giovanni conditioners and try different oils and butters. WHen I finalize a list I think I will make a video too.
I use a clarifying shampoo 4 the build up of oils, gels, etc. for 1x per mnth use.(Giovanni Deep Wheat Cleanse). I use 1 oil only 2 do hot oil treatment b 4 I wash. (Olive Oil) I have one regular shampoo that I use 1x per wk. (Ikove) only because of the ph balance & sls free. I use (Oyin Honey Conditioner) because it works as dual condish. & leave in. I deep condition with (Lustrasilk cholesterol) and add an egg when I need protein or just use full fat greek yogurt. Now 4 the the styling.......
7 months in. It has been crazy! I tried everything. Then, I began my research, started educating myself, & listening 2 my hair. My vids displayed my learning process. I will send u some info to your inbox :)
Its ok.... I am still here. I find skin( aloe vera gels) from the market work well 4 styling as long as they do not contain dimethicone or alcohols & they r cheap. I gave up my love 4 shea because I found that is what blocked other products out. I know this sounds really crazy but... (Vegetable Crisco) and an essential oil for scent works better 4 me.lololol. 6 products is what it boiled down 2 n the end of my 7 mnth craze and $1500 of research. lolol (words of the rehabilitated)
OMG! I'm so sorry. I just deleted a comment that I wanted to reply to. I simply clicked the wrong button. I'm so sorry. The comment was in relation to a hair journal which is a FABULOUS idea. Hopefully she sees this.
I believe I have bought approximately 100 new products since May. I am not braggin b/c it is NOT in my budget. This is just a confession from a PRODUCT JUNKIE, lol.
I have to learn to upload vids so I can participate in Product Junkie Rehab. I have so much stuff and I am like you. Most of it is the hype. I got some natural Shea Butter sent over from that African site and made some moisturizer. I have to use it sparingly b/c it can weigh down my fine hair. Also it does not mix too well w/gels.
Oh my! Remember when you remarked about my products? LOL? But I completely understand. I have just noticed that I haven't bought anything for my hair in about 2 1/2 weeks. I still have the same products from my 1 month review. It's a learning process. I found out that my hair doesn't like coconut oil, but loves olive oil. Hang in there. This may take a while :)
That's what I get for teasing you :D I can't wait to find EXACTLY what I want/need/like and be done with this whole thing. Thanks for supporting me, girl.
