lol that's because the iPod is using wifi which I'd faster than edge and 3g, but you can't use wifi everywhere only In hotspots so you won't be able to use the iPod touch unless you are in a hoyspot area, but with the iPhone and iPhone 3g you can use 3g or edge so you can almost go on the internet everywhere
