Done my first ever wheelie yesterday on my daytona 675r, was only gonna do a little one, next thing all I could see was sky. I just did the 1st gear full throttle technique then came off throttle when I thought I was gonna land on my head.
Perfect thanks man. I am able to pull wheelies no problem now and holding them. I will now need to learn how to do wheelies at a slower pace and turn in them as well. So far im a little hesitant but will continue crashing until i get it right lol. Again thanks.
Luv this clip, my CBR 600f now luvs sitting up, the guy in the clip knows his stuff and puts it over in a clear and concise way, especially the rear brake. When you're practicing keep your' right foot over the brake and if you overcook it then bale by rear braking but only if you're sure coz you could blow the fork seals!!!
Huh... so... use the rear break to tune the wheelie? What about the throttle? I thought that was used to tune the wheelie... (Im quite new to riding a bike and im not doing wheelies yet... =P )
anyone know what i'm doing wrong?i have a suzuki 1992 gsx 600 fn and have it in 1st at about 5to6 rpms and acts like it doesn't even wanna get off the ground
there's no way your bike "wont" pop up in first gear. you're sitting on well over 100 horse power, and unless youre quite large under 600 lbs. You're just scared to crack the throttle. Just man up and crack it, as quick as your bike it, youre reaction time is faster, and the first time it jumps youre going to chop throttle and come back down anyways. which is why its good to start in 1st and low speed, I still panic and chop throttle occasionally which is why I havent moved on to clutch wheelies
I dunno about anyone else but neither of the bikes I've had (CBR600 and GSXR750) will wheelie like that just from opening the throttle in first gear...
@rockybrewer lol I weigh about 11 stone... I don't think my weight is the issue. Maybe you didn't understand my comment correctly - I wasn't saying that if I rag it in 1st gear the wheel wont come off the floor at all, I was saying that it comes up nothing like as high or as easily as it does in this video
@CjwDnB my 2000 750 GSX-R would not wheelie would not come up with just gas until I altered the Sprocket Ratio. -1 +3 Then the bike had so much power low end. With the stock sprockets the bike has more Top speed and less Acceleration.
@CjwDnB I have a 03 zx636r same as the one in the vid and if you lean back a little in first i lifts just like the video. I had a 97 zx6r about5 years ago when I first saw this video but that wouldnt lift
I have the same bikes! Currently on the GSXR, front only comes up when redlining in 1st and shifting into 2nd, and even then not so much. The gears are made tall on purpose to keep ur front end down.
@CjwDnB Then you sir are doing something incredibly wrong. My 2007 Bandit 650 will throttle wheelie without any problems at all. My RD350LC would also power wheelie under power with no effort. On my bandit all I have to do is crack the throttle anywhere above 5k rpms and the front end comes up no problems. If your Gixxer 750 wont do that then its your fault as a rider not the bikes.

gona try this on my new cb1000r tmrw on the way to work. when ever i wheelie most time it dont go too high or it's jsut a power wheelie i ana learn how to ride the wheelie and controll it.
dose someone elses motorcycles or scooters plates screw go missing sometimes like fall off it happened 2 times in one day and 1 time before has that kinda stuff happened to someone else or someone turnt there left or right signal on ?
i tried the power whellie and i can't lift the front wheel on my gsxr 600 and i tried about 20 times allready, i eaven managed to do a drift but no wheelie :|
alright well first off i have a dual sport, should i be looking at how to wheelie motorcycles or dirt bikes, and second my bike is 200, i can do clutch wheelies, but should i try to do more power ones till im comfortable, or does my bike not have enough power since its only 200?
Using the throttle did not work for me. What I recommend is using the clutch. Hold the clutch in, build the right amount of power (RPMs), then release. Start small (less power), but DO NOT ever give too much power or else your back wheel could skid out.
@Samcomply you using a 250? cuz i've rolled my throttle as hard as i can on my ninja and my wheel has never come up. that's what i get for buying a lawnmower engine with sexy fairings though lol
@AlchemyOfHate remember that some bikes just cant powerwheelie due to the design. Most bikes today are designed to stay on the ground =). That is unless you have a 1000.
@AlchemyOfHate Lol no. 600.Try this: The bike should be traveling at a decent speed (about 20mph+), 1st gear, clutch in, open throttle (start small), clutch out, a response from the bike should occur: if there's not enough power, you might do a small burnout, or simply be pushed (like the push feeling from turbo). Practice, but don't go crazy and give too much power right away. It takes time to figure out how much power .
Hey what rpms do you usually have your bike in when doing a power wheelie? Ive been hitting my head against the wall trying to figure this out but no luck so far. I have a 09 zx-6r and so far with either version all i have been able to do is lurch forward! Please help me out!!
@sushisushifriedrice There is absolutely no way these are stock sprockets. And this video doesnt do the best job of teaching someone how to wheelie. Dont know if its been mentioned but watch downshift83s tutorial on wheelies. Makes more sense imo.
@valentinesbike why don't you believe these are not stock sprockets. a bike as a 636 ninja has power enough for a powerwheelie in first gear. And with the clutch it's no big deal at all. I think it's a good movie to study it and give it a practice.
@FinestFighters It all depends. Go into 2nd drive and get the rpms going, then let off the throttle and then bring it back on quickly, and you should go up
Im shut it off now until i get the 1st part downpacked this weekend...Im riding a yamaha yzf600r so lets see how this goes. Then im come check the rest of the video
Im doing good. I couldnt get it to lift up too good maybe i needed to change the sprockets. but i blew my back bearings out so i sold the bike. got me alil explorer now so riding season almost over. But my friend has a f4i and that thing is so light hopefully ill try practicing again
@kyshgem "dont thinki it will be that easy on a 78cc supermotard bike..or is it?" You can do it on pretty much all bikes just not at the same speed. Ive seen one of the local kids do several hundred meters on one wheel with his 30mph moped..
@Timbaa87 It will come up. what u have to do is find ur sweet spot. rev it out in first gear to mabee around 7 or 8 rpm and let off the gas to bring the suspension down then hit the throttle.
@Timbaa87 power should be enough. thats the first step on how to wheelie is just cing how and were ur bikes power is at. once u can start lifting the front wheel off with just throttle then move on to poping the clutch a lil. but dont attempt using the clutch untill u learn the first step. btw never pull up on ur handle bars because u take chances of turning the front wheel which can make the bike land akward.
This is how to learn on a liter bike. A 600 cc doesnt have the power. I still say ppl should learn clutch wheelie first. Thats how iI did my first wheelie. I tried throttle wheeli on my 600 and danm near lost it. Beginners...clutch wheelie, trust me!
@zakiyezdery id prefer s kawasaki because of torque burst, but the Honda is good too, more like a slipping the clutch since 250cc doesn''t always have power to roll on.
Ur going to kill someone dude.. lol.. Why not let them know that if u get a little too much front action, that the rear brake (lightly) touched will help bring the unit down? Nice video though!!
@wkmatsumoto thats my other account, and just riding in first didnt do anything. I had to get the rpms up a little then let go of the throttle then bring it back on. and that did it, but it was a really small one
The best part is 6:14 cuz after all, wheelies are bout being "happy and relaxed" :P haha! This guys is good stuff!
It's scary to learn wheelies on a 1000cc. I'm practicing on a ZX-10R and I'm probably going to flip it over if I ride beyond my skill level, like trying to pull it up all the way until a few months when I can bring it up more and more and know for sure how it feels at every step. I brought it up high and got freaked out so I cut the throttle and came down on my nuttz! haha ouch
@drewsiferdrew , very true, I'm practicing on a 1000cc cbr, it lifts with just a flick of the wrist but slower than a clutch up wheelie but I haven't got the fear of flipping over out of my system!
This is by far the worse Wheelie video ever made for the novice. 1 you need a small bike..not a powerful crotch rocket for instance a buell blast..it's light small and will balance easy. 2 learn how to pop clutch in slow wheelie for very first step to learn your slow balance point..and lean forward keeping your body forward..then go from there..this guy is just showing off this is not for novice and is no teacher...
you never mentioned what to do with the clutch.... you never talked about safety like covering the rear brake (especially for 1st timers) someone is going to take your advice and hurt themselves and they bike because you guys are forgetting essential fundamentals like SAFETY!!!!!
its the same thing on 125?? plz reply ..

This is how to learn on a liter bike. A 600 cc doesnt have the power. I still say ppl should learn clutch wheelie first. Thats how iI did my first wheelie. I tried throttle wheeli on my 600 and danm near lost it. Beginners...clutch wheelie, trust me!

Is it possible to learn to do power wheelies on a 250cc bikes, for example a Honda Cbr250rr?
zakiyezdery 7 months ago
@zakiyezdery go try =) but i imagine so, yes
MrKnaberaps 7 months ago
@MrKnaberaps I tried it and it works pretty well maybe not as well as a 600 or 1000cc bike but it worked and slipping the clutch works aswell. thanks
zakiyezdery 7 months ago
@zakiyezdery id prefer s kawasaki because of torque burst, but the Honda is good too, more like a slipping the clutch since 250cc doesn''t always have power to roll on.

@zakiyezdery lol no.. get a real bike

Ur going to kill someone dude.. lol.. Why not let them know that if u get a little too much front action, that the rear brake (lightly) touched will help bring the unit down? Nice video though!!

wkmatsumoto 4 months ago

I brought it up high and got freaked out so I cut the throttle and came down on my nuttz! haha ouch
drewsiferdrew 8 months ago

You need to change your small springs to lighter ones, will give you better acceleration.
