This is almost like the perplexor I get everyday for homework at my fifth-grade school. You have to put the first names with the last and the order in which they arrived and sometimes you have to match the first names with their favorite foods or activities or where they got married O_o

Step Six - The only men left are Charles and Sam. According to clue #6, Charles isn't married to Jessica so he must be Mary's husband. Now we know that Sam is Jessica's husband. And we're done.

Step Five - Clue #2 tells us that the Jeffersons arrive after the Larsens but before Jessica. The only two couples left without a last name are David and his wife, and Mary and her husband. From clue #1 we know that David arrived before Mary so David's last name must be Larsen, so Mary must be Mary Jefferson. Now the only woman left is Madalene, so she must be David's wife.

@raminahed1 its a logic puzzle if that helps ^^ start by making a "map" on graph/grid paper. with 3 5x5 boxes on top then 2 then 5 and makes sure they r lined up on the left. then add labels. i did across the top- mary helen madalene jessica marlene -elmer jeff david charles sam -1 2 3 4 5 along the side -o neals larsens jeffersons martins samsons -1 2 3 4 5 -elmer jeff david charles sam. put x's in squares that cant happen like if elmer is samson no one else can b so put x's for the other guys

It took me about half an hour but i solved it. Patience is the key. Try putting the facts in 4 different groups (man-woman, man-name, woman-name and order of arrival) then try eliminatings options in each group. it takes time but you will get there
