  • shes amazing she makes it look so easy! she truly has a gift for horses

  • @katiecute49 u r right she has a string not wire around the horses neck to guide and ask it to do things this is crap riding! Ride without anything or ride with all gear on :/

  • Yeah, she approximates some reining moves. Problem is they all look crap.

  • she is using a wire on the horse it is almost invisible.but how i know is how her hands are.Tell me if I'm wrong

  • i wish i could do that with my horse..but 1st i need a horse

  • i wish she could train my horse, too bad im poor

  • i didnt think much of this one but only because ive seen abother video of her when she didicated the ride to her dad and that on was truly amazinngg. :)

  • nice;)

  • absolutely great!

  • Łydy są najwazniejsze a wodze bardzo mało . dlatego ze czescia dolna sie kieruje koniem : )

  • This so reminds me of riding my first little pony at the age of 12 with twine around his shoulder, to round all the other horses up for our riding school.

    So calm & soft transitions.

  • She had her spur stopped sooo well. I wish my horse(LEXI) could ride like that w/ her spur stop

  • didnt shw go to congress this year

  • who she is awsome i dotn own a horse but i ride them i might start riding my friends horse i wish i could have a connection with a horse like that that is amazing she is a great rider

  • gosh i wish she could train my horse Comet who is three and one of our mustangs to do that! they both are a little hyper

  • SHE IS AMAZING SO ARE HER HORSES!!!

  • My name is roxy too. i wonder if she trained roxy i want my horse tunned like that he is like that but just needs a tune up.

  • wow!

  • she is so amazing. I would love to have this connection with my horse.

  • Piękne!!

  • I love Roxy and Stacey!

  • Its all about seat a legs. :)

  • And she had a fantastic seat :)

  • how does she get him/her to stop?

sorry, im not really a horse expert...is she using her legs?

  • leg reiningI dont know if it is call something other than that

She is using her legs to signal the horses

I have seen this gone with a saddle and with out

But I personally havent trained in leg reining but she is very good

  • She loosen her legs and gives a little pull on his mane!!! Bot a problem!!!! I had to watch like 300 of her video to know!!!

  • I don't know exactly how SHE does it, but most people use their seat to stop the horse. Typically when riding a horse you move along with their movement. When you stop, and relax, that's a cue to the horse to stop as well. Of course, you have to train them to react to this cue.

  • yes and saying wo or ho what ever your horse is trained to people have to refer to it as the "w" word when training

  • Saying 'whoh'. c:

  • she is so amazing and the connection between her and her horse is chilling. i have goose bumps..

    <3<3<3

  • does she own her horse?

  • no, i read on her site that she doesn't own Roxy

  • I'm pretty sure she does own Roxy; she doesn't own the other horse that she rode at the congress.. Can't remember the name!

  • She doesn't own Roxy.

  • @harleyscowgirl absolutely!

  • Roxy is SUCH an amazing mare...

  • is that Wizards Baby Doll?

  • Yup

  • wow i have watched this so many times and still cant get over it!!! its hard enough to ride bareback and brideless at a trot much less a gallop!!! i wish i could do this!!!

  • 고삐없이도...

  • she should of 1 first place

  • is that the wizards baby doll horse

  • yes, or Roxy for short

  • Ah this is so amazing. It's like perfect mutual respect between horse and rider...Like perfect harmony =)

    This is love <3

  • [Youtube normally doesn't allow me to reply, though I do know how. :/ This ish to StormAndsSky]

It's all in the seat. ;]

Leaning back, and the positioning of the legs. And verbal cues, of course. 8D

  • Hmm, that's what I thought. :)

  • leg control i also ride this way but not as well lol

  • yay i get to see her soon!!!!!!!!!! and tommie turvey!!!

  • oh ok... right forgot it was western i see that is a lope.

  • i love her riding!

  • is she singing or is that a CD?

  • CD; I believe that's Leeann Rhimes or however you spell it singing it.

  • that waz amazing... looked like the horse was limping though

  • What?! You're kidding, right?

  • thats just the way some horses canter-most ppl would die to have their horse do that!

  • People have to train their horses to do that - it's a form of collection to the extreme; I beleive it's termed as a "lope"

  • She not limping, not at all. She looks fine and her collected work is INSANE!!! Its sooooo good!!!

  • Nah, just a relaxed lope.=)

  • I got to see her at Mane Event this year,

it was totally rad. this is what i'd love to do with my horse one day. its amazinggg.

  • i got to see her ride in person i even talked to her she has got quite a story behind her great person great rider.

  • now my joy at useing trotting poles bareback seems a little overrated...beautiful to watch

  • woah she is amazing and one of my fav all time riders! but the only thing is y does she use spurs??? i thought they was banned. If she ddnt use thm then she would be lyk a dream

  • Its much training and trust behind this. It's beautiful :D

  • I would very much like to see her ride in person

  • Beautiful!!! I wish I saw freestyle reining but in Italy it there isn't!(I'm italian)

  • I can say only one word AMAZING!!

  • Stacy Westfall is my hero. She is an amazing horse rider and has a great relationship with this horse. I hope that someday I can have the same relationship with my own horse.

  • I mean really, partnership between man and horse at its best

  • This is so inspiring that even after a big skydiving accident and after getting myself under a truck with a motorcycle, I am still going to try nd do it. Congratulations. Javier.-

  • I wish I had her balance! And for the person saying that her horse only does dressage, you got to realize that any horse can learn to do this, it is the rider than has to be soooo good with her commands that no saddle or bridlee is needed. Stacy you are my hero!

  • Whoops I mean bridle, major typo.

  • I saw her at a show and that horse was with her and it is the sweetest horse, it's pretty too, they're a good team.

  • He is a pretty horse.

  • its a she. the horse is a mare...female..

  • I know what A mare is i have two horses a Mare and filly. Black and A Bay both Quarter horses. I'm not an idiot when it comes to horses.

  • now thats pimp right there lmao

  • wow that's amazing! Such an inspiration :)

    Thanks for sharing

  • k well first off I did not say I was a professional, and second I never said I CAN do what stacy does, I just said I could if I had a horse that was trained to do that!, but i have a dressage/showjumping stallion, and isnt triained in western!

  • Thank you for admitting what we already knew--you wanted to brag about yourself and make yourself feel good. You spouted nonsense for days, and this is the best you could offer up? You more than deserve to be blocked; someone needs to whack you upside the head and knock some sense into you.

  • okay i will, idk why you guys wanna see it isnt all that exciting. but i'm going to go ride my horse later this evening so i will take a video for you guys.woot.woot

  • Well, let's see--you go on here, make remarks about how you're better than a professional, then have nothing to show as proof other than the running of your mouth. Your videos consist of absolutely nothing that belongs to you, which certainly does NOT serve to back up your claims. Can you blame the rest of us for being skeptical?!

  • well im not amatuer i can do way more than simple lead changes and figure 8's. try piaffes, passages, etc.

  • That's awesome--but--would you please, for the love of God, show us your non-amateur riding without the assistance of a bridle, saddle, etc.? I'm *this close* to blocking you because I'm growing very tired of your boasting. We all get it--you're good enough, you're smart enough, and doggone it, you love yourself to bits. Now, show us your fabulous dressage movements on a naked horse.

  • yes!!!!

  • If i rode western, then i WOULD post a video of me doing that it wouldnt really be that hard, but I ride English and do dressage.

  • Then why not ride a dressage test like this? You could still demonstrate the figure 8, lead changes, etc.

  • shes inspirational. check out the videos of my reiner and I

  • i actually agree with CowGirlAllAround.

yeah, it probably takes alot of leg muscle and crap but it isnt that hard if the horse is trained good and knows the commands

  • I am totally fine with you saying that, but I would love to see just one person who says that actually post a video of himself/herself doing this, or doing it BETTER, than westfall. Then I'll respect him/her.

  • i LOVE stacey westfall. her horse is just to much to ask for and she is way more then lucky to own this wonderful horse : )

  • haha lostonyou 15 says that she rides like that and has been for 10 years yet has no videos

  • wow that is so intense!! omg that horse has got to be possibly the best trained horse i have ever seen!! and that Stacey girl is really good with doing leg pressure and just being able to communicate with her horse without force. the trust between them must be so strong. woo hoo!! way 2 go!! keep it up! :)

  • u guys make me sick if yur sooo good then go film yourself and put in on youtube i wanna c it hahaha..if u new anything about stacey then u would kno that she trainned that horse so she much be as talented as her horse u freakin retard...yur all just jealous that somebody might just have more talent then you so stop talkin the talk if u can do it i wanna see it so post it up stop bullshiting

  • I've got to agree with you--CowgirlAllAround, I would love to see a video of you and your Paint doing what Stacy is doing here. I never see her really pulling on the mane. Have you ever pulled a mane, in the sense of show preparation? That certainly has to be more disagreeable than holding onto a mane. When one first starts jumping, one is taught to hold a little bit of mane so as not to catch the horse in the mouth. It is not cruelty. Please post your video so we can all be in awe of you.

  • Why do you all think SHE is so amazing??? It's all her horse..not her! She shouldn't get much credit except for sittin on the horses back! And she's not the only one who can do this and do it well! Im 13 and i can ride the exact same way she can on my Paint! Its truly not that amazing and her horse has more talent than her..and her horse knows more than her. She doesn't need to pull on the horses mane either to control it. Leg and hand commands are okay but pulling on it's mane? Not acceptable..

  • Do you realize exactly how much training it takes to gain complete harmony between horse and rider? She worked with this horse 5 days a week for about 5 years! She is not some random person who hopped on a circus pony.

Also, a horse has no nerve endings on its mane so tugging on the mane isn't hurting it. Get over yourself.

  • Cowgirlallaround you need to shut up because if you can ride like that then you should know about that unbreakable bond between horse and rider..you cant just jump on any horse and expect them to do that for you..and shes not pullin him mane she playin with it and givin him commands at the same time

  • Oh God, to be 13 and ignorant. Ignorance is truly bliss. Swim and bathe in your bliss my dear. I've ridden for 24 years, shown to many world titles, and could not hope to accomplish what Stacy has done. This girl (Stacy) is the real deal, no hype, no gimmicks. And as for pulling on a mane, one does not "control" the horse via the mane... it's called communication. Indians did it centuries ago, it's not cruel.

  • Well said.

  • Yes Stacy Westfall Rulls!

  • My mare and i can do that. We so reining as well. Only in arena tho. And not nearly as well rehearsed.

  • she is AMAZING. how do u ride with no saddle or no reins and bridle its awesome

  • it takes a lot of skill

I can do it, but not that good, all i can do is walk and trot

  • Same here.... I can walk, and trot, but I'm not quite great at cantering that way yet though.... Oh, well...

  • i have been riding that way for 10 years and it just takes time and practice

  • OMG THAT IS A GREAT BOND

  • She is great. I wish I could do any of the things she does.

  • she has such a good seat and is such an amazing rider.

  • I could set and watch every play on Stacy Westfall and my response would be the same. The greatest I have seen in 40 years. A true example of horse and WOMAN as one!

  • She is just an amazzing trainer. This mare is only 5!

  • I love watching events like this. I am buying a quarter horse soo, and I hope that it will be as good as this one!

  • i love watching her ride i would love to go watch her she is truly amazing

  • She is a GREAT rider!!

But the singing in the back ground makes

    me want to shoot myself,..

  • The partnership is amazing, and this horse's beautiful, flawless pace is wonderful to watch. He\she does get confused a few times, but I've seen tons of 'bridled' horses worse.

  • I watched her at the 2006 equine affair in massachusettes she was AMAZING!

  • I watched her do something like this at the Can-Am Horse Fair/Show :) She was awesome...

  • Wow the horse is beautiful, so amazing. Great movement too, very smooth.

  • interesting.

  • How amazing is this girl? ??

  • my mare is mutten withered. . .she also has a very collected canter stride. . .at camp i was jumping and she fit in 8 strides. . .where the pony in our class fit in 7!!! and my mare is a qh appaloosa with some arabian!!!

  • Thats so beautiful, her partnership with the horse is just gorgeous.

  • Oh my gosh, this partnership is too awesome to watch! What an inspiration!!!!

  • umm... mutten withered are the best for bareback... It's the spine you look at, mutter wither horses give the greatest rider's pocket. ALSO IT IS A LOPE EVERYONE! Goodness ;) Canter is english. I LOVE watching free style reigning, I do it with my filly all the time, it's SO crazy, but SO fun! Great video, fun to watch!

  • Are they not both a three-beat gait with suspension? Canter and lope are the same, it's just what a person prefers to cal it. I ride western, but I say trot and canter, just because I'm used to it.

  • Yes, they both have 3 gaits, but i thought lope was alot slower, and less bouncier.. i also thought western horses jogged instead of trotting.. But, i don't know.. just what i've heard.. ROTFL, can you tell i've never rode western?

    LOL

    She's so awsome

  • a lope and a canter a practically the same thing thing. A jog and a trot are the same thing! different people just call them different things. I hope that helped

  • Thanks. It did. :)

  • they are not the smae things. a jog ism uch slwoer than a trot and the horse has smaller steps. a canter is faster and more forward than a lope.

  • notice how i said "practiclly the same" hehe

  • oo hah sry guesss i didnt notice that part

    lol

  • its ok

  • Now is the time for all of us horse lovers to step up! Thousands of horses are being slaughtered right now in the US for human consumption.Even Racehorses and pregnant mares are killed. USDA studies show over 92% of horses slaughtered are healthy and 3 out of 10 contain unhealthy chemicals.

  • I can't ride like that and never will but I can do freestyle dressage in english style bareback with no bridle.

  • That is a lovely mare. :)

  • chris cox(natural horsemen) can get his QH gelding to sidestep at the canter and he can turn on a dime and do flying lead changes in his sleep...

  • I watched her do 4this at the Can-Am Equine Show this year, it was spectacular, aand the bond between her and her horse was amazing.

  • i love how the horse is constantly licking.

  • that means that he's comfortable with what he's doing.

  • umm. yeah. i know that....

  • if she could get Whizard's Baby Doll to get his head up, he would make a great dressage horse. with the bond they must have to be able to do this, she could easily teach him the upper-level moves.

  • Why would you teach a very western quarter horse to do something unnatural to its conformation, like dressage?

  • Quarter horses can do dressage! I admit, since they're so much on the forehand, it might be hard for them to do passage, but flying lead changes shouldn't be a problem, and neither should shoulder-in, half-pass, or piaffe.

  • HEY! Quarter Horses can do anything! And they aren't "very western", my best friend jumps her paint quarter horse, and they absolutly rock! And my trainer does dressage with her clydesdale/quarter horse, and they rock too!

  • woah..I want to learn how to do that!

  • very nice seat =]

  • I'm very impressed.

That horse must have great trust in his rider. This is so inspiring to see!

  • wow, amazing bond between them! thas great!

    xx

  • You've got so much control of your horse.

    that's great!

your horse is so cute, it looks wonderful

i've got a horse too and i know, which feeling's you've got about him. there's so much trust...great...really great...

    go on!

  • is that her singing ?

  • No, that's a recording they played in the arena.

  • oh ok thanx

  • There was a picture of her like this at the back of Horse and Rider Magazine. It stunned everyone I showed it too.

  • yeah i get that magazine and i thought she was awesome!

  • I thought it looked really kool. I bet i could do it with my mare, who is also a quarter horse, but bareback puts too much pressure on her spine. So when my mare kicks out when I ask her to canter bareback, I say "ok, we won't canter bareback." But then again, I'm a cutter, and most cutting horses aren't ridden bareback, and she's abit mutton withered.

  • lol i wanna know how to do that with my horse!!!

  • aww wow i do that but preli styl wich is pritty much the same i think lol i do that i am curently doin bridel less and saddless but i am on to the xcountry cors in my wood and it is brill lol will be getting lots of videos soon lol and she got it to stop by moving her legs 1 forword and the other bak in a sequence lol c ya amelia+ruby
