  • @Lapaixpeace, we know u work 4 Youtube bt hey d'u kmow what Kenyans ar capable of doing? Who told u tht th names we use on YT ar our real names?

We agree Congolese music is th best of Africa, bt tht daz nt giv u th balls 2 grab any good piece done in all parts of th continent as uas. U might hav done Sina Makosa originally in Lingala bt th best is this Swahili version; n it's a Kenyan product!

  • OMG this brings back nostalgic memories of home, Kenya. I don't know why but just reminds me of how life was simple back then. Miss home.

You know nothing about Congolese/Zairean Music. If you need to know more about Sinamakosa ask me again. Congolese musicians at that time explored a lot in music they could make songs like Sinamakosa in Lingala and translate it in Swahili, I can tell you more about the first person that composed sinamakosa in 1971 for privacy I cannot reveal names.

  • @Lapaixpeace One good thing about congolese is their believe that any loved music in Africa is from their country. That way they feel great and unchallenged.

Look here at my work (I work for Youtube Corpora ration, so I know you personal Information when you signed for Youtube, so you be careful how you reply to your comments not only to me but to other people 2.

  • Get this one halfway don’t say bullshit to people you don’t know. When comes to our Congolese/Zairean Music; I can educate you I can judge from the way you are laying your thoughts that you know nothing. Please do not send me any comments you never learn too, I learned and still learning you don’t know to whom you talking too. I took my free time to comments on this one, this is my opinion.

Brings back memories of Kenya, thanks farasi!

  • Dont we love Kenyan music! This was a hit in Zimbabwe years ago, and it just brings the good memories of African music! Thanks for posting this video.

  • @mchigubu Correction stop there, this song is zaireans originally everyone country likes to interprete it, be carefull - there is no country in Africa can beat Congo -Zaire in Music and also even part of the wold.

  • @Lapaixpeace

Nonsense. When did the Congolese start singing in Swahili. Zaire music is superb but this one here is a Band with Tanzanian Musicians that was entirely based in Kenya as with many other Zaire Musicians. Get UR Facts straight b4 correcting others. And furthermore, does it matter that it has to be from a specific African country ? Africans will never learn. Have u ever heard people from Memphis argue with others from Texas etc whether Texas has the best musicians ?

  • I remember I was about 8 years old and we used to stand outside a big bar with big speakers. We would not go home until this song was played. Niko mtoto wa Afrika

  • This song is kinda difficult to translate but the jist of it is that, he is talking to a fellow man saying

She is not yours neither is she mine

Why do you want to kill me?

she not in your home, neither is she in mine

    Why are you so angry?

Yuo have yours( a woman) at home and I have mine(a woman) why are the hatred between us?

    I have done no wrong!

I hope that helps (sorry I couldn't do better)

  • thanx bro atleast now i have an idea of what he is saying

  • what language is it?

  • the language is Kiswahili , it is spoken mostly in East and Central Africa. The muscians are Kenyan.

  • Chuki ya nini ndugu yangu? sisi sote ni Waafrika!! I did not intend to start a war by saying that they were from Kenya. On the other hand u stating that nothing this good comes from Kenya...... those are fighting words...LOL!

  • Pleaseeee someone post "Afro" by Les Wanyika. This song was one of the most played in the airwaves of Kenyan radio in the eighties, rest is history.

  • I just remember my uncle when i listern for this song.He is dead now but he was funny wa less wanyika.when i saw this machozi yatiririka hoping he could be alive and buy this for him when i will go back home.

  • Sina Makosa, this version, was done by written by rhythm guitarist Omari Shabani and performed by Les Wanyika. Issa Juma was the lead singer, John Ngereza the soloist on guitar. Tom Malanga played bass. Raschid Juma on drums, Chou Chou, the high pitched animation. They were a great band, and it's important to know real people, with real genius made this song.

  • mamuu shukrani 4 posting this lakini waweza post 'afro' pia?

  • This is the best music from kenya so far, though Les wanyika are from TZ. I remember seeing Johny ngereza many times as a kid.He lived near my primary school-kileleshwa primary in nairobi. Does any one have the song AFRO WA KIRINYAGA ? Please upload the video.

  • when is someone GOING TO POST THE COOL JAMES VERSION RELEASED IN LIKE 2000 THAT JOINT WAS A MEGAHIT!!!!!!PLEASE SOMEONE GET THE VIDEO

  • This is certainly one of the best musical cuts to come out Africa. It is almost hypnotic!

  • Buashraf, i agree this original version is great, but i have listened to the one by both the Soukous Stars and Bisengo Musica, apparently the same vocalist, Jona sang for both bands, but i guess the Soukous stars had a better outing!!!

  • Bellemskey I am sorry I do not know any person who could post Cool James´version of Sina Makosa. By the way one of the guitarists behind Cool James´version was Vumbi Dekula. Type Dekula here on youtube for his work.

  • just out of this world

  • This is the original Sina Makosa. Tabu Ley, the late Cool James Mtoto wa Dandu, Soukous Stars, Bisengo Musica etc etc have all tried to give us sina makosa but they cant beat this original piece. Thanks alot Mamuu for posting this clip. It drives me down the memory lane with lots of nostalgia.

  • Hi Buashraf, who can help us post Cool James' version of Sina Makossa. I love this track to a the last. Excellent!!! This is what Africa is all about!!!

  • Fantastic piece of music. This is what Africa is all about!!! I came to know this tune by the version played by the Soukous Stars posted by Scottshuster, i have fallen in love with both versions. I am thrilled by the base line just like the one played by Lokito Ngouma for the Stars. Can you beat this? When i listen to tunes like this, i wonder when Africa would rise up, unite and take its rightful position in the world. These are the musicians we should be branding to the whole world!!!

  • Haya we !
