  • im diggin it man. plz make a real recording though. it would be nice to hear it in true quality sound

  • hey man, awesome video!

look, I have a question..say, I load VST plugins into a microkorg. does the synth have to be connected to the laptop all the time to be able to play them?

like, does the microkorg also have internal space for those kinds of things?

  • im 100% sure that if this track was sidechained correctly it would be wayyyyyyyy better

  • im i the only one that thought, i..am not....a whore, at the beginning

  • reminds me of trentemoller. its good

  • Bro! This is rad! I've had a microKorg for about 4 years, and only now am I really starting to master it. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • I like that bassline, it sounds great... also the drums are quite nice :D good work! a litte sad, that one can't see you in the video jammin and having fun.. keep it up

  • awesome

  • Hola juan, me compre el microKorg, me llega como en una semana, pero quiero saber que cable necesito para conectarle al computer? Lei que un m-audio Uno, que me recomiendas? gracias :)

  • Youtube sure does screw the sound of some otherwise good sounding video's !

  • that is mad

  • interesting

  • Are you sending midi information out of Cubase to your microkorg? If you are this is exactly what I need to do. Would you mind uploading a tutorial or telling me how?

  • do u know if you can use with reason 4?

  • yeah you can, i've been looking at them

and you can use it to control synths like

thor and so on, but can't record the actual

preset korg patches on the microkorg.

  • yes, its a midi keyboard, you can use it wit any program.

  • use ableton...

  • You connected your Microkorg on one mixing desk?

With what exit on Korg and what entry on the table?

    Thank you

  • Tu as branché ton Microkorg sur un table de mixage ?

Avec quelle sortie sur le Korg et quelle entrée sur la table ?

    Merci

  • Ta Vergas el Video wei :D

  • Takes awhile to get started!

  • very good vid :D i myself have a microKorg and love the instrument so much. there's just so many things u can do with it.

  • lo@rudeboy

ripping of midi parts to low rated samples are .....hahahah,mind it youselfs, poor "32 year old boy"....hahahahahahaha,i shame for you ;P

    only thing is,may u manage the mastering,but sounds really nice :D thumbs up,both,five *^^

  • This is pretty nice. Ignore the guy below me...I clicked on his page and apparently likes some 150BPM NRG garbage...

  • very very good - definitely feeling your flow on this track - keep it up!

  • oh...April fools hahaha

  • why is everything upside down and backwards?

  • Quantize is your friend!!!!!!!!!

  • I´m using cubase... and some korg keyboard... .. I see in the cubase software what I´m playing.. but I can´t hear it...

can someone help me with this problem?

  • hi can you help im running pro 53 on computer and have casio keyboard hooked up works a treat but when i run pro 53 in cubase not getting the input from keyboard same problem with sonik synth, great if you could help.

  • hey my cubase 3 has started saying that it can't record properly cause my sample clock is set to external. just wonderin if you could help or anyone??

    great video by the way!

  • VST's are plugins that generate a certain sound through a sequencer.

  • i want one of those!

  • what the hell are vst's

  • a vst (virtual studio technology) is software which can be opened up in DAWs such as cubase and is used to simulate traditional recording studio hardware (i.e. synths, effects equipment etc..)

  • knock knock... COME IN !

  • are you going to record that with good quality ? im interested in remix it

  • your IQ must be massive!!

  • hey i hate posting them but, i really didnt start that and thanks for the IQ comment even if it wuz an insult

  • ok but you realize you dont have to post it? you r not gonna get murdered

  • look i get scared easily somehow

  • people like you are either idiots or assholes.

  • pretty cool...the intro is a bit long however

  • i was stoned and i got abit excited lol. i thought it sounded like minilogues synth sounds. for eg. hitchhikers choice.. giant hairy super monster

  • this is awsome.. how did you program the synth. iv been trying to get this exact sound. sounds similar to minilogue. i would love to know how u did this?

  • what is so awesome about this...I think its pretty lame. What sound are you trying to get? there all generic as hell sounding? how are you not able to find and/or create the sounds from scratch they are so fuckin basic.

  • So if you're controlling the microkorg externally, can it play more than one patch at a time?

  • no, that's not possible

  • so,the notes you play in computer will be played in micro korg?

  • how do you sync the microkorg with cubase?

  • computers midi out 2 microkorg midi in

microkorg audio out 2 computers audio in

and if u wanna play keys on the microkorg u gotta go midi out from that into computer midi in

then go into cubase and add external instrument on the vitrual connections screen(or w.e. its called)

then just go to where u would add a vst n select external instruments and add the mictokorg one

  • you copycat

  • now i know who stole my lighter last night!

  • cool!:-)

  • good track, minimal, good work, send me a rmx pack if you can i work too with cubase :)

  • where can we dl this tune

  • Wow real Pro53

  • hey wires

  • Help! I'm out of touch with recording on computers. Here's the problem:

I've got around 40 tracks of audio on Cubase VST. Now, what I want to be able to do is to separate all those tracks onto a 48 channel mixing desk, but I only have stereo outs on the PC. What hardware do I need to separate the audio tracks on Cubase? Cheers.

  • You need a audio interface with as many in/outputs as you want. Or use a digital mixer with 48 channels.

  • if your mixing desk is an O2R96, then just get hold of a MOTU 2408 MKIII and the respective ADAT cards for the O2R96 and sync it up via 3 ADAT light pipes.

  • Cool! I've never used the audio in. The microKORG stands up very well to a Minimoog!

  • do they have avilable preset drumbeats and presets so you can have multiple tracks going on at once or do you need to transfer them through a computer.?

Also can you preset sounds/phrases onto the white squars and then press them when you want them to come in?

    Thanks

  • Not too sure you know 100% what you doing with the nobs so I agree with fezman in that you could consider looking into the basic concepts of emusic production coz you've got really good ear and style to exploit... you got great grooves going on there!!

  • You cant record on a micro korg. You miight wanna look at an Electribe. They are an amazing piece of kit.

    And as for playing piano.

It helps to know a bit.

    Basic scales etc.

But the arpeggiator help a lot

    :)

  • awesome!

im thinking about buying a synth and was wondering do you have to be able to play piano/keyboard to have one? and can you record things on there and repeat them?

    is it easy to play/use?

    sorry about the questionss....

  • you haven't why to say sorry, i am here so solve your doubts, u could record what you play, but only if u connect the synt MIDI way to a software or hardware sequencer (soft sequncer like cubase) easy to play, yeah like a piano, but if u wanna to get great sounds and to take a personal sound u will have to practise a lot, if u want more boubts contact me

    Kind Regards from MAdrid, Spain.

  • ok thanks!it helped! i'll have to some piano chords and stuff, i play guitar mainly and im just trying different stuff out and put it into a band!

    cubase?

i use that at school, to record my guitar onto it and put the drums and stuff in the background frm the keyboard at schooL! so u can plug it in and record?yays!

    anyway thanks!

  • yes u can plug a synth MIDI way to cubase, ableton live, Sonaar, Cakewalk... etc and to record the audio and MIDI information, what's MIDI information? whith this u get to log for example the velocity which u have pressed the keys, the notes, pitch, and a lot of aditional details, if u want more information contact me altrought private msg

    Kind Regards.

Excuse my mistakes my english isn't perfect ;)

  • Dude you've got some mad honed skills and you KNOW what you're doing, keep this stuff up!

  • sounds fkn awesome. I love the analog sound

  • the led light reminds me of the destructive device from "Predator" exploding...annnny moment now....

  • i dig this track, just wish the kick was a bit more punchy...sweet synth

  • know anywhere to get good free vst plugins bud?

  • yeah sure ! if u wanna contact me, please send me an youtube email and includes your MSN.

  • I love this clip. Good work, man. Don't listen to the people who are ignorant of elec music.

  • thanks!!

  • the intro isnt very good, i mean , the kick sounds and the closed hats are pretty shit dude.

  • thanks man

  • i definitively like it, keep up the good work.

  • thanks man

  • You're a troubled child

  • :O ;)

  • ya look at ur keyboard it looks so good mmm

  • check

  • oh nvm this iant to shabby

  • this song a suckjs a mojrly practice or sumthin you got that nic ekeyboard and this is what you do lol

  • Thank u guys

  • idiot

  • I play guitar and piano, and I can tell you for sure that there is alot more you can play/write on a synth.....like maybe some guitar or piano parts!

  • i'll try to elaborate on what he said, nothing will ever compare to a song played on an instrument and not sequenced by a computer. I dig electronic music and all that but if i have to choose between that and my favorite bands (of all genres) or actual musical artists i'd take them.

  • you are just scared of technology because you dont understand it. A real musician can aprreciate any music whether it be from a piano, keyboard, drum, helicopter, vacuum cleaner etc...

  • good shout! im gonna sample a piano, keyboard, drum, helicopter and a vaccum cleaner al in one and make a quick tune! watch this space! im gonna do it now, im bored! thnx

  • I was watching your video, there's a comment on your site !

Regards and thanks for your support also to all people who post their opinion.

  • Nice one...

nice work! keep it up! =]

  • The only one that you need is to want do it mate !

    Regards.

  • i need to learn all this midi stuff ..i've got some ideas of what to do with it but my work area and house in general is such a shit hole

  • Hi there guys

I don't know what is the best MIDI interface to control the VST plug ins. I got the M-Audio Axiom 25 Classic and it runs perfect. Regards.

  • Good stuff mate.

  • Thanks mate i really apreciate what you say

    Regards.

  • can the microkorg be used as a controller?

ive tried to set mine up but i just cant do it =/

    any ideas?

  • Can you please send me the info that aletropdj requested ? I am also interested. Thanks

  • Hi. what is the best interface usb-midi to connect the MK to Pc?

    Thanks..good work

  • You got the response on your mailbox, because it's so long for to post it here ;)

    Kind Regards.

  • can u reply? thanks

  • can you send the same to me plz ?

  • yes i will, but, let me know exaclty what do you want to know,

    Regards.

  • Can you please send me the info that aletropdj requested ? I am also interested. Thanx :)

  • is it really difficult to plug the machine ? 1 in, 1 out, what else ?

  • Hi. what is the best interface usb-midi to connect my MK to Pc?

    thanks...good work

  • not music per se, but still cool

  • what the fuck are you talking about? it's clearly music, you idiot.

  • i secuence it trought cubase,

    Regards.

  • I've got a microkorg but I really dont understand how to sync it with software and stuff.

  • How do you sequence it?

  • All soundson it already there?

  • the sounds that you are listening from mk are patches from the machine.

    Regards.

  • very goood

  • thanks ;)

  • 5 stars!

  • Your just feeding it a MIDI track and adding release, attack, resonance. Thats not really what the Korg does as a stand alone synth.

  • Thanks. Really enjoyable original sounds, unexpected.

  • Thanks !!

  • This looks like a fun machine, do you think it's possible to learn to play keyboard with one of these, I could imagine it would be fun to play with more than electric piano/ piano.

  • No i don't thonk you can learn how to play keaboars with a microkorg !!! It's impossible !!! It's nothing compare with a keyboars it's a synth but you can play with this without learning how to play keybord !!!!

  • u okay man?

  • It depends. It's limited in the octaves you can play at one time, so you might be well off to learn to play keybaord on a larger set of keys. If you want to learn keyboarding for synth and dance music use, this probably fine.

  • i'm gonna buy that, i'm sick using my mouse for midi making on cubase sx 3

  • that's an analog synth. If you just wanna control your synths through a DAW such as cubase then you should get korg's midi controller and save your money

  • man, i'm not using it as a midi controller, just playing a sequenced track, and i am controlling the MK filtering, the other sounds are VST, as i have typed in the tittle of the video.

NOTE: Microkorg isn't an analog synth, Mikrokorg is a modeling analog synth, which isn't the same ;)

    Kind Regards.

  • the u need a midi controller dude.

  • Pretty cool.

  • very nice electronica

  • I have the native instruments komplete 5 with pro-53. I installed everything but the pro-53. How do you set that up in cubase.

  • I don't know well what you are meaning. One of the sounds that are playing in the video come from Pro 53 VST, the only one that you gotta do is to add a Pro 53 VST into cubase, and to link it to a MIDI track, just in the mixer panel, also you could control the Pro 53 altrought a any MIDI controller, like MIcrokorg which haves that function as well.

    Regards.

  • with the alesis micron... you don't need the computer :D what i really want though... is a clavia nord lead

  • sweet dude

  • Is that a Numark mixer next to the microkorg?

  • nice song man

  • Thanks man

  • The song takes too long to develop.

  • and you know nothing about this type of music

  • are you referring to the creator of the video or hellothisismeth?

  • The song takes too long to develop.

  • very cool but you should not smoke;)

  • what r those 2 wheel things on the side

  • do you mean on the miccrokorg? that would be the modulation and pitch wheels

  • Pitch bend and mod wheel.

  • Ive been contemplating getting one of these MicroKorg babies for quite some time now. Your clip has just shat all over the negatives. I'm getting one this Saturday, plugging it into my laptop running Cubase, then into my surround sound setup with my 12" boxed/ported sub. sh|t yeh !!!

  • i like it

  • fuck the haters on this site man. this is bare good! reminds me of digitalism. im going to buy a microkorg tomorow! im gona try doing something similar to this type of music but i dont knwo what program as i dont have money for cubase..

  • Thank u mate !! in the next days, i will upload a video about how i made my last track with Ableton Live 6 i hope, you enjoy ;) thanks really thanks about your comment ;)

  • Well cool !

I've just bought one but haven't used a sequencer/computer with it yet.

I will now having watched this.

    Nice one !

  • Try to sequence it with a Ableton Live or a Cubase, i think u could obtain an incredible results, mixing it with some VST Drummachines, try to find drumazon, or nepheton, they are just TR 808 and TR 909 cool emulators, i hope you will make nice tunes with this help ;)

    regards.
