Thank you so much for posting this, colourscrash. Pete never stops intriguing me, impressing me, and blowing me away. Not that he's trying, mind you...it's just Pete being Pete--brilliant, insightful, passionate, ahead of his time. What a creative whirlwind this man is!
At what point, exactly, did he leave Faber and Faber?
I know he edited Eric Burdon's biography (Eric wasn't too happy with the result), and that his relationships with Ted Hughes and William Golding came out of this period, but by PSYCHODERELICT and TOMMY ON BROADWAY he had obviously finished with that.
@Pulsar205 i could be wrong. it's like an added ninth with a note removed from the original chord. My theory is a bit off these days. haven't been studying much.
Yeah they look similiar here >.But You know what ..He is one of a VERY few of smart people..A Bona-fide Intellectual ..If there is such a thing he is one!
Also 1985 was a wierd period , in that he was a book editor for Faber and Faber opting some Bukowski stuff among others .Newly Sober and wanting to have a healthy family life away from the Dull and Decadant 80's scene of MTV
It's funny too to see the malfunctioning copy of "The kids are alright". The first VHS release had a sucky picture and it was running to fast! Roger sounds like a cartoon character.
Exactly, it's the oposit when you see photos of Mick Jagger WITH a beard and you think WTF?! I can't imagine Clapton or Ringo without a beard either...
What's the name of the song at 4:27?

love those opening hybrid chords.
RubHerSoul1 2 years ago
is that what they call them, hybrid? he learnt to play the banjo first so that's why his playing is a little different to standard guitar

He looks like Will Self on this.
I like Townshends music but he does come across as a self important pseudo intelluctual at times. *stands back and waits for the backlash*

The way this song sounds on this clip (and I seem to recall it's different on the White City album) is awsome!
