Quite the best film ever. I was annoyed to discover that the film version I first purchased had been ruthlessly chopped by the Hollywood studio that financed the film, New Line films. The studio demanded that the film be in English and that the length be under two hours, so the exhibitors could fit in an extra showing per day. Tornatore’s cut was 160 minutes, and the studio chopped off 40 of those. However, I was lucky to purchase a full 160 minute version from Italy.

@Shinseikan Thank you for your nice comment. Your very lucky to have the full version of this movie. I saw a boot leg on the internet a year or so ago, and it looked bad, so I didn't watch it all the way through. Maybe some day I will find it on the internet in good quality.

Such a stupid reason to cut the version over here short. Glad they demanded the english part...guess that would have happened anyway.

This movie made me also pay more attention to Tim Roth. That guy is good. Thanks again!
