Yeah i have the exact same problem here. I connected everything like i should. We are not receiving any signal on my pc. If i use the yellow wire (the old tv one) i do get a signal... I havnt gotten it to work on my monitor, but no shit :P it aint even working on my pc yet. If u found a solution? I would be happy to know

I got audacity the vista beta version and it has different settings to the microphones input and output. What am i supposed to set it at so that it picks up the talking from the controllers mic? it only says the microsoft sound mapper and the conexant microphone, which is it if any? can someone send me a more detailed message on what to do with audacity or at least this version thanks!!

the colours are all messed up because of the component to vga cable if you go and h

get double ended component and double ended audio then put that it into a convertor then out the otherside comes a vga signal that should solve your problems with the colour

Oh my gosh. I just spent about 5 months working for a pvr and setting up my room perfectly for everything, and then i get it all set up today, and then the screen has a green tint to it. There is no HD mode on my Samsung P2450 monitor. Any other method to getting around this? Please?

I use an HDMI cable from my xbox to my monitor. do I have to purchase some cable for the pvr to work with the monitor? or can i just hook the pvr up via vga and let the signal go from xbox vga to pvr vga and let the signal stop there, and from my xbox hdmi to my monitor's hdmi so the xbox would be transfering two pictures one via hdmi and one via vga? or will the two interfere with eachother?

I have the same monitor as you Dave, but I am used to playing with an HDMI cable. Will it be too awkward for me to play on 480p? I mean, will it affect my ability to play just as good as I do in 1080p? Playing in 720p with a VGA cable is of course not an option, as you get those weird colors.

Thats a pretty awesome game station you got there. :) You got everything! All I got is a 42 inch lg hdtv 1080ppi and i just play laying on my bed and tv at the end of the bed. I use the headphones that come with the xbox.. :S lol

Umm... about that adapter cord, It appears that it has no hardware on it to convert the signal, this is important because:

VGA uses: RGB (red, green. blue) color signals as well as a horizontal sync and vertical sync to tell your monitor how to create an image.

Component, uses: Difference from red, Difference from Blue, and the Green cable is composite sync (both Horizontal and Vertical in one cable).

Your monitor is expecting RGB, not component, that's why the colors are screwed up.

I'm willing to bet it's that $18 component-->VGA cord that is making the picture quality crap. If it's a cheap cable it's probably not gold plated or shielded and you'll be losing picture quality through it.

I've been looking for someone with a set up like this because I've been looking into recording. The only problem is that I use the Microsoft VGA output cables for the 360 instead of the standard component directly to my monitor, so I think I'd have to use 2 of the component to VGA cables you showed. Also, have you tried using a splitter? So instead of running your 360 to the PVR then to the monitor, you could run it to the splitter and split to your monitor/PVR, so you wouldn't lose resolution.

I'm fairly sure with the setup you have, you could play in HD if you fiddled around a bit. Have you tried 1080p from the dashboard? How about the PVR, does it have any other output besides component? Say HDMI or DVI or even just VGA?

Okay do this!! Plug your Xbox component cables into the PVR. Obviously, the USB out goes to your laptop. Now for the ouput, use DVI cables!! DVI has a much better quality than VGA! If you can, try using an HDMI cable! That's your best choice :P
