"Once i was blind.. now i can see" He punished himself enough and still does. At least he`s not a stranger to the truth..like some of you lady basherz out there. Te amo, Lamotta.
I read years ago that what drove the rage -- was jake as a young boy thought he kiled someone and was prepared to die in the ring (that's was made him unique). When he discovered the man hadn't in fact died -- he didn't have the dark motivation. Just a theory. Love Jake's boxing career and the icon of his rage - and of course his comedy.
When you consider that the guy is in his 80's and a veteran of 106 professional fights which took place during a very tough era, it's impressive to see that LaMotta is as sharp as he is.
old school lamotta. looking hard for a reel to reel to get it all!! i luv em, but he probably pawned his for 5 bucks, and bought a pint of vodka, and an italian flag
im glad to hear that. Im not much for books myself but it was the first book that I bought that I actually enjoyed. It is a terrific autobiography. This man had an interesting and exciting life
holy crap! he reminds me EXACTLY of my Grand dad that died 5 yrs ago! he acts exactly the same....LaMotta was,is,and allways will be my favorite fighter and idol...enjoy ur golden yrs Jake!
spursloyal71, calzaghe has plenty in common wiv jake, he is 1 of a few who would fight as often as possible, u cant compare joe 2 jake because the standards today r pretty poor, 20 years ago guys like lennox lewis, audley harrison, any of the so called fighters, tua, botha, williams they are all hopeless, they wouldnt last 5mins wiv they likes of louis, ali, foreman, can u imagine marciano vs audley harrison, primo carniero vs hollyfield, modern boxing in the higher weight division is a joke.
this was actually a GREAT interview. Its not easy to do an interview with class when the subject is difficult. Yet you did it. Not to mention "What Balls" to go to his apartment in Manhattan and talk to the guy. RESPECT!!!!
Jake LaMotta seems like a cool guy.
