I got this match as the bonus match on the "IWA:MS Fairy Tale" DVD, it is a good show, worth the money alone, and it also has the highest quality version of the match I've been able to find.

Sure, many wreslers would like to go that direction, Punk, Cabana, Sydal, but others like Danielson, Styles, or Aries have turned down WWE contracts. There are other places that you can get good money, have less matches, and experience new crowds. Japan and Mexico most notably, but Europe has a growing fan base right now also.

I love ROH, WWE, Chikara, CMLL,NOAH, and WLW because I appreciate what they each bring. If every company was like ROH, it'd be boring as hell. Overness really isn't, you can hear it or see it on the merch sales. Meltzer gave the Dragon Gate 6 man 5 stars,I didn't because I thought it was a total spotfest that would be outdated in 5 years,I'm right,it's already outdated. Meltzer has lost his knowledge because he cares too much about MMA.Again, wrestling is about context.

A good pro wrestling does not put on "5 star" matches. A good pro wrestler is an over wrestler. Don't say some bullshit about who gets pushed either, because Santino has a shit gimmick, but is over, so he's been pushed. Shelton has beaten HHH THREE TIMES and had a program with HBK and as soon as they take him off the teet(as in, put him with someone else to prove he can be over by himself) he fails.He goes back to generic "watch me jump high" Shelton and that doesn't connect with their fans.

WWE is not the platform for a style like Shelton. Like this isn't my soapbox and it shouldn't be yours, but imagine Shelton in a pruo-resu enviroment. Shelton could be a Low Ki character on the indy scene. He could be Rocky Romero in Japan. WWE and TNA both have products that do not endorce the same things as ROH or AAA.

A good wrestler is one that goes for the *****, regardless of the product. You need to adapt and entertain the fans, by being over or delivering in the ring.

No, a good wrestler draws fans. You have to know your audience. Think about it, would you rather have a guy (if you're WWE) who gets the "5 STARZ" from a guy who doesn't really know wrestling like Meltzer, yet isn't over and doesn't draw or a guy who entertains the masses? It's WWE's fanbase, if youre fanbase likes the five star matches, then you need that guy, but a wrestler should always adapt.

Actually, Shelton would be a very generic puro guy because he doesn't tell complex stories.

See, regardless of what you think, pro wrestling is about getting a reaction. Cena could do cool moves, I've seen him, but he doesn't, why? Because he's safer this way and he still gets a very strong reaction from both sides of the audience spectrum. Shelton gets mild reactions from part of the crowd, and the smaller half none-the-less. Your amateur credentials don't mean squat, the bottom line is getting over. Whether you or I like it, that's a fact.

And how do you know he could be making millions in football? Being a great athlete doesn't make you a good football player. Maybe he can't catch that great or run routes as well or remember plays. Being a great athlete only gets you so far in football, just like in pro wrestling, and you and shelton need to realize that especially in pro wrestling you need much MUCH more than athleticism and cool moves to make it huge.
