  • How come you didn't get credit for the Gucci Mane beat? Did you not include it in the contract?

  • @BOROVICCI The contract was fine. What happened was, Shyne's deal with Def Jam went bad, so before the contract was executed (the declaration was signed and paid for), the deal was over and shortly after, the song was leaked.

  • Factz, ive been following 2DopeBoyz for years now, great advice

  • some great advice here! looking forward to part 3

  • I email at least 10 blogs a day.

  • @bedroommoosic Are you making progress?

  • @jacksonwonderful Yeah man. I'm an indie/chillwave artist and I've been emailing indie blogs like crazy, 3/10 blogs will email you back. But like you said, hard work and consistency is all it takes to get your stuff posted. Great video!

  • @bedroommoosic 30% is a great number. If I sold 30% of all the beats I made, I'd be rich.

  • @jacksonwonderful Indie blogs are usually more open and stuff like that though. I put my stuff up for free as of now.

  • @bedroommoosic True. And blogs and websites don't really post content from another artist unless it's free, so that is the norm.

  • @jacksonwonderful And even if I get picked up from a small blog, if it doesn't gain me a lot of listeners it'll at least get me one. And that's one more from what I had before.

  • I really appreciate this advice, especially the specific avenues, this will be a big help for me. Thanks DJ Pain1!

  • Awesome vids

  • Definately a helpin hand fam, appreciate the jewels u givin

  • what is your favorite hip hop blog?

  • People who know how to sell or hustle aren't great talkers but they're great listeners and are enthusiastic about what they sell. They also know how to utilize the information that there given to cater to the customer.#Hustling101

  • @MrUniqueosmosis I disagree. if your job involves "Sales," talking/communication/interpersonal skills are your biggest assets. The problem with aspiring artists is that the majority are neither good talkers or good sellers and don't understand how to find information and resources.

  • @jacksonwonderful I base that on me being a waiter Lol but I can see what your saying because when your selling your beat or music your not selling your music your selling your personality or brand.

  • I will also give out a lil tip you can go to twitter and search submit beats email or something in this nature and you will get the email of artist's I got the email for nicki minaj, rick ross, ect that goes for artists also they do post the emails on there twitter and like he said introduce yourself give them a like make it easy and be accessible.

  • @MrUniqueosmosis awe, you just gave away one of the "Secrets" I was going to address in part 3.

  • @jacksonwonderful My bad man just trying to be helpful.

  • @MrUniqueosmosis haha it's all good.

  • Very valuable info bruh! I'm in this for fun, BUT if I get noticed, that's a good thing! It would be nice to do beats as my full time job!

  • Respect to DJ PAIN one of the few realest ppl in the industry..keep inspiring bro.

  • thank you whaiting for part 3

  • Also do you think sites like Soundcloud are appropriate for submitting to blog sites or should we stick to the hulkshares out there? I personally never cared much for hulkshare

  • @DJKevWest The major hip-hop blogs aren't using sound cloud yet. A lot of electronica blogs are. Just do your research. Sites like 2DBz, OnSmash, etc. prefer hulkshare, so submitting a hulkshare link or mp3 attachment to them is a good idea. Some blogs have more specific instructions, so if you follow them, you can't really lose.

  • @jacksonwonderful thank you for the advice. I will use this to fine tune what I am doing.

  • PART 3 PLEASEEEEEEEE

  • Thank you for the information this is exactly what I have been looking for. How often do you get responses back from these blogs after they post? Is it a matter of just following them and seeing if it happens or do they usually email you saying "Hey I like it I blogged it" I just released an EP and started submitting to blogs and I have not heard back from many and I notice that I did a lot of things that you said not to do here like building the relationship.

  • @DJKevWest It depends on the individual blogger/webmaster. All in all, persistence is key. A lot of people give up after a week or a month or a quarter. If you are consistent, respectful, persistent and the music is good, things will move. There are a lot of smaller blogs out there just starting out too, so don't forget to support them. Going right for the 2bdz from the jump may be too ambitious.

  • real talk Djpainone this your boy JunnyjatzBeats leme say your number# 1 fan your videos, advise,Kits have me allot you my roll model looking forward to collab with you one day soon

  • You made your point on sending your music to blogs but i think that was mainly pointed towards artist.what about producers and beat makers?I'll be doing some research on that

  • @TooRellOfficial Like I said part three will focus on producers, and it's coming soon.

  • im only 19 just started makin beat back 2011 . im gonna do actual what u say to do thanks again

  • thank u

  • this is really helpful, appreciate the fact u took the time out to do this. Im a producer myself, so cant wait for part three
