no, you just have to hit them in time with the music, unlike GH3 where, lets say u have a hold note n the next note is a hammer on, you could hit the hold n the press the next note before the hammer on comes acros the 'line'(?), n it would hit it, this doesnt happen in gh2, u'd have to wait until the hammer on crosses the line(i dunno what to call it)
