  • WHO can dislike such a beautiful song? Just wondering... O_O

  • Super belle chanson!

  • beautiful song

  • can anyone make a project with the bnei'menashe? One of the ten lost tribe? we are already here, but ,seem like nobody care bout us............but we continue to survive, inspite of all the odds we face.............

  • @novisiblity The Bnei' menashe need to gather the best of their musicians! You are loved as well :)

  • When was Idan Raichel crying? You see a little part, when Idan sweep away his tears.

Can enyone tell me that ?

    Bye

  • CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND THE ETHIOPIAN SINGER WODGARAS "AVI" WASSA ???

He is no longer with The Idan Raichel Project and ai can´t find anything about him!!!!

  • stop circumcision

  • Her name is Cabra Kasai and is working with Idan Raichel.

  • ELAL's new anthem :)

  • @barnowhl These people (Idan Reichel and his group) are truly wonderful, we should be very proud of them; each one of the group is from a different background (Israel, Ethiopia, Iran and Uruguay). This is the true meaning of Zionism, the ingathering of the exiles.

  • Kabra Kasai expresses beautifully the challenge of being from 2 cultures. Her routes from Ethiopia and her present life in Israel. The Beta Israel community endured 2,000 years of 2nd class citizenship in Ethiopia dreaming of the return to Zion.. The song is an open, friendly and sympathetic one; despite negative comments below these two fine people (Kabra and Eidan) represent the best of Israel, they harbour goodwill towards all. Those who love Israel should be proud of them. Kol ha'Kvod!

  • For all of you that do not know or that want to forget. Before there was Palestinians, Jews, or anything that was not of African descent in the area, the area was heavy populated with those of African heritage. Now, you have war mongers there that do nothing but bicker over a land that IS NOT EVEN THERES............Getcha mind right

  • @josephtc74

israel was never a part of africa- if anything it is a part of asia- GETCHA GEOGRAPHY RIGHT

  • @RachEM2116 so how come they are now part of europe?

  • @psychosomatic333 Israel is a country situated in Asia, near Mediterranean Sea, no way a part of Europe.

  • @psychosomatic333 You watched too much "Eurovision song contest"!! ;)

  • right on hector for being a dumb-ass! If Palestine exists why not live there! and when the Israelis blow your ass then you will know Israel exists with the Israeli foot planted in between your ass.

  • First, stop shoving politics everywhere, its just a f***ing song. But since you let out this incredible BS, I just have to respond.

You are either totally out of touch with reality or in denial. Palestinians that do live in "Palestine" live in horrendous conditions, with the perk of being shot by the IDF or being blown up (Cast lead). Those that chose to stay where Jews want to live have thier homes taken over or demolished.

THERE ALWAYS WAS AND WILL BE A PALESTINE

  • Palestine is a fantasy..so you can keep dreaming. Song...yes nice song and Idan is the best. I'm nothing, but totally in touch with reality more than you would ever be in your entire life. Sorry go read the history books and later we can talk details..cheers!

  • Refreshing song. I can feel her voice and meaning like the wind drying water in my skin after washing in a river on a warm day out. :))

  • @Halayla huh??!! stupidness!!!

  • Amazing song

  • ¨Good and so beautiful too

היא זמרת טובה יפה מחפש אישה!

  • is this singer israeli, shes very good?

  • Yes, parkerphil20. Her name is Cabra Kassai (or Casay, depending on how it is transliterated). She was born in the refugee camps of Sudan but is an Ethiopian Jew. Her family emigrated to Israel when she was a young girl. Her compulsory two years of military service in Israel were spent in the army rock band, entertaining soldiers on bases around the country. That's where she met Idan Raichel. Hope that helped.

  • thanks joseph, that was helpful, love this song and all the singers who perform with idan

  • She is Cabra, and yes, she comes from Sudan. Isn´t she gorgeous?? Yesterday they performed in Montevideo, Uruguay, beginning their tour through South America. I was so lucky to get a ticket!!! They all rock!!

  • amazing song and amazing everything, nice to see that idan want to spread a good message and not a political one

  • Yes! totally agree!! they show that being different, coming from different cultures, countries, it´s just that. And together they can perform such a beautiful group and give such a positive message.

I feel very proud to say that the percusionist is from my country, and went to the same school I did!! (although he is younger!!) They performed in 5 different languages... amazing! Nobody wanted to leave the theatre.... they sold out in 2 days...

  • @parkerphil20 ofcourse not there is no such a nationality called israelie cause there is no country called israel they live the the palestinian lands

  • there is no palestine and never was, i dare u to prove that there ever was a state called palestine or a nation called palestine.

  • hehe didnt u hear about salah el sein free'n palestine from the european crusaders in batle of hattin year 1187 !! i think u stop watch'n israelie news and start read'n real history israelie brainwashed kid

  • This girl can really sing, but IDAN IS THE BOMB!

  • The problem is that Jews forget we are one race. We've just taken on the physically characteristics of the other cultures we meshed with. We are all one race, one people. Period. Hashem be praised!

  • baby i love the words te amo

  • Well, I am from colombia, south america, and this song makes my hair stand on end, the big heart of this beautiful black girl, and the way she loves Etiopy. I really feel a big envy for this great girl beacusae she can help these beautiful boys from this woderful country: "Etiopy", God bless you Idan !!!!

  • Yes, I live in the U.S.A. Is there any way I can see the movie?

  • Go to jewish centers or Israeli centers and ask them for it , you might get lucky cuz some stores sell israe;i music items :)

  • Does anyone know where I can watch or download that movie ''Black on white'' directed by Tomer Heiman?

  • great, but i personally prefer her Ethiopian matarial singing (like the song "Sememen", that they preform live only) .. its awesome.

  • Idan a love all your Project 10qs

  • Such a beutiful, heart-warming video and song. I love Idan's music. It has genuinely changed me.

  • In the end we all belong to our Creator but here on earth can seem along way from home.

  • is the lady in there his wife?

  • no. she is one of the singers of his brilliant music project.

  • okay thanks:) is he married then?

  • This is a very painful song to whoever truly understands it. It shows the way that many Jews, and particularly Ethiopian Jews because of the discrimination they face, are torn between their immediate roots in Ethiopia/overseas on the one hand, and their ancestral roots in Israel on the other. I personally can identify.

  • sorry, I dont think you understand.

anyone who left a place when he or she was a child and later came back to vist feels the gap between memories and reality, between past and present.

    it's not about discrimination.

    the lyrics state it perfectly

  • I agree with tjstvcv. The lyrics are about the dilemma of being an immigrant, of never being able to go back home, but always having home within you. When she sings:

אבל גם לי מתחת יש עוד שורש

    וגם אני מפה

she's clearly referring to the roots that tie her to her home village, and states "I'm also from here."

  • her name is Kabra Kasai...beautiful isn't she? :)

  • i will keep always in my heart Israel.

  • Where can I buy this song? its not on the new album and I really want it.

  • itunes. search idan raichel

  • What can I say? Idan Raichel is one of the most creative music composers ever. I fell in love with this song, & nowadays that happens very rarely. A deeply moving song with a hypnotizing recurring guitar phrase. A song I never tired of hearing endlessly. A pure gem. That is, until I heard it as the soundtrack for an El Al commercial.

Now, I hate it and can't listen to it.

But I am probably the only one who feels this way--in this disgustingly commercial world where music is anything but holy.

  • "You see how to feel at home

    You think that I don't

But, you recall sometimes that I have a plan too.

I see how that you blossom

    You think I don't

But I've got too beneath another origin

Now, some travellers come back to the forth home. Now, they stop. Now, ti's possible to choose : to sleep at the end, at the beginning, that he was, that she was, that I could be/exist and you too."

    Sorry , I made a lot of mistakes but I'm French, I learn English & Hebrew=)

    If anyone can correct me...
