  • Great spinning and video, those pois look so beautiful! .. Ive got to order some :)

Thanks for this, I keep watching ^^

  • Dude, these are great! I didn't see this vid until just now. Nice work!

  • Yeah man! I will keep on working on the concepts. Also i might have some ideas in my head for some more "Caps". ;)

  • You might want to check out the new tech video. It's on my channel man.

Some kind of new stuff, and after Feurewelt, I'll have lots more to make a new tech vid =)

    Let's geekout!

  • nice work homie

  • Thanks mate.

I have a new and improved video in the making. Will mostly cover other moves tho.

  • I've been messing around with the stall / plane shifts you were doing in #4 and there are alot more possibilities. Like, from the initial stall, you re-stall again. If your left hand stalls upward, right downwards, when you stall again, left is downwards and then right upwards. At that point, do an isolated butterfly buzzsaw and then it gets a bit fuzzy because of all the plane shifting thats going on. Hopefully I can make a video and show what im talking about lol

  • o_O Actually I think I know exactly what your on to. I've had the idea in my mind (if it is what i think it is). I think to categorise it as a variant of this move or group of moves you have to utelise quarters of circles. As this move does.

    Makes sense?

  • Yea, it makes sense. I have to track down Charlie, cause he has the video where he does the move I was just mentioning. I had never thought of doing a double stall, let alone manipulate plane in a contained space. Its like...defining the edges of a cube, but spinning consistent circles using stalls to accentuate plane shifts, although there is still subtle plane bending going on. From doing an iso. BF BS [buzzsaw] in wheelplane, to doing a same direction iso. BS back and forth. >__>

  • 1 and 7 were things we totally worked on and got through at Wildfire. All of the butterfly 1.5 hybrid things are really awesome! Thanks for some new stuff to play with! =]

  • 1, I can understand. 7 is a much less obvious motion to think about. Honestly I made it up to fuck a bit with how hard it is to do two different things with the poi.

No problem. I will make another one shortly when I've worked out what else is new.

may the force be with you.

  • Mycked =)

  • Some pretty cool stuff in there, although personally I'm not such a fan of 3D spinning. I've got comments on all the moves, but I don't have much space. Let me guess what is your own... 1, 4 and 7? Because I've never seen those movements before... What's happening at 8, it just looks kinda like antispin, same for 10 except stalled. It's all really cool stuff though, your floats are looking great. There are some variations in here that I never thought of, but now seem so obvious, lol.

  • I really like the stuff in 12, especially the "clap" thing behind the head, never thought to do it there, but again, it seems so obvious now. Brilliant stuff man.

This is probably going to be a big ask, but could you perhaps do this video again, but in the light with sock poi? It'll make it easier for me to see your techiness and learn from it. Thanks again man, keep it up.

  • That would be a crappy BTH beatswitch. Eventually I'll have it BTB as well =) My goal is to have full control of beatswitches ala Nevisoul =) Thomas is one huge inspiration of mine =)

  • Pretty much spot on.

8 Is only antispin in 2 occasions. Look at it closely it is spin/antispin in a unifided direction, or a unified pattern if you preferr. Look at the hand light. how it moves. 10 is antispin + stall, nothin special really.

What part of all this is 3d spinning?

  • Beatswitching, that's what it's called, I forgot. Yeah, Thomas is a huge inspiration for me too, I'm still going back to that "new/old stuff" video on a weekly basis. I looked at 8 again, I noticed that your hands are moving in an anti-spin pattern too, which makes a cool pattern for the poi. What's that called? Unified antispinning? I don't think I've seen that before. I wonder if you could do beatswitching on any "body spin", like utl or waistwrapped...

  • 3D spinning, from my understanding is basically spinning where the planes and geometric patterns are viewed from an alternative angle than straight ahead, and such patterns could be appreciated from various vantage points, and when in combination with other planes create essentially 3D shapes. So all of your plane bending stuff, like the point-stalled plane bend is technically 3D. Keep in mind though, I'm no expert on 3D spinning, it'd be great if somebody could comment and explain it?

  • Oh and dude, antispin stalling is pretty hard, it took me a while to pick it up. Awesome stuff man, I love what you're doing man, you're a big inspiration to me, your JFF performance was fantastic.

  • Thank you sir =)

Yeah I guess it's pretty difficult. I only grabbed the best tries in this video. Many of these things are still very sketchy to me, but it's stuff I'm working on. And also mostly concepts I'm working on.

One thing I'm really into is trying to find transitions right now.

  • I believe beat-switches can be done almost everywhere.

Nr 8 is something I came up with while trying to spin geometry actually. If you look at it, it's actually like a cross "X". You would start at the left bottom, move antispin to the middle and then down right. then from down right to the center and then right up. You get the idea I think. Always move through the center.

  • Ah yes, that's pretty darn cool. Great pattern, you should take some photos of it with a slow shutter speed, that'd be a great photo.

    Hugs =)
