Oh man. I bought a copy of this game while I was on holiday in Japan, from a bargain bin for something like 50yen. I know arcade ports aren't usually up to scratch but I really wasn't expecting it to be this bad - it's like they got everything working well, apart from the draw distance, which renders the game almost unplayable because cars can appear out of literally nowhere and leave you no time to react.
Shame really, the original was great fun back in the day.
looks more like erm rad rally at least the car,the strange thing is the saturn has the power to run a good version of this game with ease but no it didnt for the worse.
I rememeber that arcade, that use to have in Washingston D.C. Airport where in the metro trains subway things, i rememeber the sonic doll, ahhh.. the old days, when i was a young child thank for brining back...
btw favic, did you know that this was the first time sonic appeared in a video game (the original rad mobile came out in 1990, one year before sonic had his first game)
Thanks for the info. However based on what you said it looks like it's a lot of hassle with the modded Saturn because of that swapping of memory cards so I'd just get an import.
The arcade didn't load each level seperately like that, it was one long track

the music is clearly a step up from the arcade version, both in quality and composition.

@realcatgirllover Really? I think the arcade sound chip version is much better.

the biggest problem seems to be the graphics rendering -- rivals pop up on the screen very close to us.

well, its a pretty accurate port. unfortunaltely they decided to use polygon cars stead of the sprites from the arcade version. bad choice.
