  • I so love this movie and talk about it every christmas. I pushed dislike for the numb nuts

  • Mixed Nuts is one of the most delightful comedies I have seen and it introduced me to Liev Schreiber, one of the most talented actors of his generation.

  • Gene Siskel is dead so his opinion doesn't matter anyway. These two were a couple of idiots who wouldn't know a good movie if it fell on their heads. Mixed Nuts is a wonderful movie!!!!!

  • @gspceo253 It's a giant piece of poop.

  • They are way off, it's a classic, and the elevator scene and the "cherry" scene make the movie, never mind the great Liv S. Drag scene's, great, Arnold, Arnold.

  • I think "Mixed Nuts" is a perfect name for Ebert. But nobody wants to eat him

  • Ebert sounded like Tom servo describing a movie. Come to think of it...there are some parallels between Siskel and Ebert and Servo and Crow. But the same could be said about R2-D2 and C3P0, so its probably just me.

  • Roger Ebert did see it, and the print review exists that proves it. In his negative review, he says a couple of good things about the movie inbetween all of his critiscims.

  • Well, he knew about the 17 screams, I guess, so perhaps he did....he's right in not wasting too many seconds on it.

But beyond that, this is a remake of a French 80's movie, "Le Père Noël est une Ordure" (literally translatable as "Santa Claus is a douchebag"), which itself was bad & cheesy. Not much hope when what you build upon is vacuous dirge.

These negative reviews are hilarious though. I miss these two very very much.

  • hehe I suspect Roger saw it.

  • @YesWeCantaloupe edit: never saw it.

  • rubbish just watched the movie and i think its a good xmas movie. not shakespeare either but just good plain festive fun. cant believe they slated it so badly.

  • Oh God! That really is a condemnation - utter dismissal. Even Ebert has said every film deserves it's day in court. Well apparently he found an exception. Either that or he quickly got the trial over with in print.
