  • @MrJoeSumm it shows sooty and sweep playing the piano when the guitar is playing so it ain't sweep! D'uh...

  • @smugderip Steve Harris :)

  • @g1tzc he plays bass tho, but it gives me the idea that it was dave murray but because he and the rest of the guys were ill then he had to do it behind the scenes lol.

  • I remember seeing this when it was on TV, my little sister was watching and Nicko just appeared. Matthew Corbett must be such a fan

  • That is so cute and funny, the Iron Maiden drummer on a kids TV

    show!Ha ha ha ha ha!!!

  • mat can sing ha ha

  • up the IRONS FOR THE GREATEST DRUMMER EVARRRR : D

  • @lionnew Sweep? ;)

  • @SuperSonic44 Lol!!

  • who here would pay to see Sooty and the gang play with Iron Maiden on tour, I sure as hell would

  • ha possibly the greatest moment on sooty :)

why does sooty play the same pre-recorded notes as sweep but it looks like sweep is trying way harder!

  • Trust Nicko to do something like this!

  • oh. shit.

  • sweep is defo a metal head. sue, i dont think so. more like george benson or some mushy shite

  • hahaha . Love it!

  • I can't wait to get to see sootys drum clinic....They should have had Rick Wakeman on the keyboards too....

  • I think he referred to Frank sinatra's one...

  • I would've loved to see Nicko cover Run To The Hills with a bunch of teddie bears and a couple pianos. . .

  • Nicko Mcbrain is like the shittest drummer evarrr

    trollface.jpg

    He's actually fucking epic.

  • How did Nicko get involved with the Sooty Show? I think theres another episode with him in it somewhere.........

  • @thesteveus Nicko was a big fan of The Sooty Show, and loved it so much, he used to get his wife to tape it for him when he was away on the road! lol The producers of The Sooty Show found out about this, and so invited Nicko to appear on the show. From then on, to commemorate the event, and to show his gratitude, Nicko started draping a Sooty puppet on his drum kit when playing live, a practice he has kept up ever since! xD

  • LOL NEVERMIND IRON MAIDEN xDDDD

  • I would love to enter a talent show with Nicko McBrain!

  • is that 747 strangers in the night by saxon that the guy is suggesting playing at 7:04 ?

  • LOVE IT!

  • @chrisjtt509 actually, if you notice, now nicko has a that sooty puppet infront of his drums dressed as the theme of he tour, like in the somewhere back in time tour the puppet was dressed as a pharaoh

  • Bal-sagoth on Blue Peter. Now THAT I'd like to see!!

  • STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

    LAND OF TEDDY DOLLS

  • i have never seen someone more happy playing an instrument than nicko

  • haha nevermind iron maiden, i love it!

  • Wow. Do we need any more proof that Nicko is the coolest drummer ever? He even does a kids show! And to think we here in America got lousy Sesame Street..

  • "Never mind Iron Maiden"... God I started to laugh :D

  • @theMiXeriZe I bet if you put both acts together, the opposition in the talent show would've admitted defeat before the show even began.

  • Does he suggest they play Saxon after that? XD

  • damn... i really thought wiki pedia was lying to me... this really happened... my mind is blown...

  • after one night of drinking and hookers, hes gotta wake up and do a kids show. thats metal

  • I actually enjoyed the song ;)

  • At least Iron maiden're STILL going strong, play their own instruments and without having to reform which can't be said for Take That, BoyZone, Westlife and the Spice Girls

  • when this was made? during 80s?

  • @cassavaeater 1987, yes. I would bet that Nicko probably did this for free as well. Matthew Corbett must have been a big fan of Maiden otherwise it would just be to far too random to have him on the show.

  • If Sooty spoke a bit louder Matthew wouldnt have to repeat everything.

  • MCMLXXXVII

What year is that? Is it 1987?

  • @ejl1000

  • Ha ha, I don't think I've ever seen Nicko so quiet before!

  • Iron maiden doing Number of the beast at a church...amazing....

  • Sue's hot!

  • thank you so much for posting this charity shop, you rock as much as maiden!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omg how cute!!! NICKO OWNS!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • @WrestleGirl95 He will always be ownage on drums

  • This makes me laugh so hard. Nicko is classic.

  • Awesome!

But where did the guitar in the end come from? :O

  • style goes to the bear, speed goes to the dog lol

  • This sort of reminds me of Dave mustaine on duck dogers.

  • @MrMetalloidMan In what way

  • @TheSpecialOpps A badass metal star on a kids show.

  • year?

  • whaaaaat...? :D

  • sorry...but SUE RUINS EVRYTHING. Everyone else couldve played some maiden, but noooooooo, once again, Sue sucks the fun and life out of anything metal related. Good job Sweep is there to reset the balance...

  • ahhh and he plays for Iron Maiden f'kin awesome! introducing young children to Maiden!

  • I think this was faked...if you look closely, Sooty and Sweep are out of time. It's a fraud. I'm not falling for this!

  • Better than IRON MAIDEN!!!

  • what year is this?

  • @sophiaroset 1988. I remember taping it. I was 14 and my mum and dad thought I'd lost the plot!

    Nicko is awesome!!

  • wow...

  • This definitely goes to number one in my chart labelled "If I Hadn't Seen It, I Would Never Have Believed It" !

    Brilliant!

  • They don't make children's tv like that anymore.

  • @doomy08854 ... I think you don't want to hear the answer to that question...

  • when was this show?

  • The most METAL childrens show ever! At least until Gene Hoglan goes on Blues Clues.

  • @iownawii Don't forget Alice Cooper once appeared on The Muppets

  • @dancingman1983 Oh that was cool watching him do Welcome To My Nightmare

  • Who would have thought that two such awesome things would ever unite to create a force awesomer than Bruce Dickinson himself.

  • I'm going to watch this awesome piece of television every day for the rest of my life!

Check out Stevie Wonder on Sesame St. too... why don't they make TV like this any more?

  • haha!! this brings back memories, i remember watching this when i was younger..and i was a massive fan of Maiden by then..UP THE IRONS!

  • :D Excellent - I bet Sir Paul McCartney'd wished he'd written that tune... always was a fan of Nicko... and I remember this very well! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • man he is so damn awesome. him and phil rudd is the reason why i want a sonor set so bad. even though he doesnt use them anymore. man a drummer from a band like iron maiden on a kids show.

  • He's an awsome drummer and he'll do almost anything for anyone. And he's hilarious

  • when was this?

  • This was 1987, the episode is called Hidden Talent. I'd completely forgotten about this then read on his wiki page that he appeared on this show. I think i actually saw it when it was on after school, I remember that hideous shirt he's wearing.

  • Many happy hours of my childhood was spent watching the sooty show.

Nicko is a LEGEND! :D Up the irons!

  • The presenter looks like Simon Pegg!!

  • Nicko will do anything lol, even kids shows.

  • this song rocks! sooty maiden!!!
