  • That Nissan engine was a very special engine with a very small number built.

  • Well let's be realistic. Among JDM n.a 4 bangers, the Honda's Vtec and Nissan's Neo-VVL are the best. Good thing about the honda's is it is mass produced world wide since this (vtec) is their specialty. Nissan on the other hand maybe powerful out of the factory, but it is rare. Again they did not focus on it (Neo-VVL) that much since we all know Nissan specializes on making engines for turbo application. :)

    Its a SR16VE N1 200BHP engine the most power full 1.6L na engine n the world thats n the Pulsar & the Type R aint a 2.0L it is also 1.6L both CARS jdm spec.

    but in video 2, its a Spoon CTR, which means its been stroked to 1.8L.

    In the very last conversation in video 2, they talk about how with the price you can get a SPOON 1.8L which would smoke the N1.

  • @jugbugz Can the nsx beat the gtr, i didn't think so and nissan make way better cars like the 180sx, silvia, gtir, R32GTR, R33 GTR, R34 GTR, name one good honda, integra and especially the civic and the prelude are girl cars. and the nsx doesnt have a chance against the GTR. and btw a SR20VE can do 9 seconds with the right parts and tuning withought a turbo.

    The NSX-R was Japans #1 sports car until the R35GTR. Meaning it pawned the R34 GTR and stayed on top since 1989. You obviously don't know anything about engines and cars and turned your arguement into a honda vs nissan fan boy talk.

    The problem with nissan N/A 4cyl motors is that its unreliable, tranny is shit, FF chassis is shit, its got nothing on a honda. The Tuning world knows this, even nissan boys know this.

    I don't think you get the point.

    The SR16VE made more hp per liter because it was a special limited edition. Stock SR16 vs B16B, nissan had no chance. If youve ever owned a SR16VE, you'd know that the reliablilty is shit where as the B16B will last forever.

    If you want to compare limited editions, Spoon's B16B as seen in this video makes same output with 1.6 yet walks away from the nissan. Reliabilty fuked the aftermarket support for NA nissan engines. Unlike Hondas.

  • @jugbugz hi man i rekcon that stock AE111 BZR with 4age blacktop 20 valve is better than b16b cos the 4age engine, although it has vvt, it does not have valve lift like vtec, but still it can be quite strong against vtecs!!!!

Your comparing a type r to a sr16ve why dont u compare it to a b16a2? stock to stock nissan rapes b16's sr20ve on the other hand shits all over b series motors. I have owned a sr20ve and ive beaten RSX-S (k20) hatches with ls, gsr, type r and i didnt lose, my car was stock no cams or anything just i/h/e its not just about the motors they are both reliable your full of shit, i own a honda now but i know not to get next to sr20ve or sr16ve.

    I wonder why there aint any nissans 4 cyls N/A motors running 9.18 sec 1/4 miles. Or any sr16ve putting out 200whp N/A like a mild b16 can, hmm what about 300whp b20 back in the early 2000s? How about all those so many K24s rampaging on the streets with 300whp N/A. Or those extreme K26 N/A motor drag cars putting out almost 400whp and running low 9s?

    Nissan SR engined BTCC were 325bhp N/A with limiters and revs limited to 8k. That was without any variable valve timing and lift nonsense too.

    My friend has a stock K20a type R engine in an EK and does 12.8sec 1/4 mile. But you saying your car shits all over an RSX-S? Its too bad the States only ever received 1000 ITRs. I dont blame you for not having the experience. But then again theres lots of wild hondas in the States...

    Even if someone owns a GTR, they would still find the civic an incredible car. Ofcourse on the street, turbo cars will walk a honda, but on the track, its a different story.

    GTRs are easy to drive, accelerate, brake, turn, accelerate and the electronics take care of everything. Nice speed thrill. But hondas give you a different experience that the GTR cant. Thats why they are popular and a good drivers car.

    Today, honda engines are making over 150hp per liter reliably. Raw Power!

  • @jugbugz and i know nissans n/a cars lacked in some ereas like bad tannys and chassis probly because nissan was more focust on there turbo cars rather than n/a cars for obvious reasons, which gave honda the edge in n/a cars and left nissans n/a cars with little aftermaket surport.. but at the end of the day if you got a civic put a shit load of money into it and went out and got a used stock gtr the nissan would blow the wheels off the honda any day ;-) and still have cash left over for tuning

    A civic doesnt need a lot of money to go fast. For example, on our local track, a R35 GTR is only less than 1 sec faster than 3 of my friends mild EG civics running a 1.6 B16a with type R cams. Meaning, a stock R32, R33 and R34 would get blown away by a mild civic on a track.

    In terms of value, hondas are damn gd for the money and yet they have MAJOR credits being NATURALLY ASPIRATED. The Honda way.

I own a EG with it´s tricks inside, but speaking or comparing a huge state of the art performance car, to a little $2000 dollar car... that´s like comparing a VW 1976 VW bug to a Veyron... totally diffente things. My EG is very quick, but I will never say it´s better, faster o cooler than a GTR... That´s just ricer mentality...comparing a compact cheap car to a GTR....
