Mustard would be wise to make hay while the sun still shines. This video was taken when he was at the peak of interest, after the O&A appearances last year. There was a huge novelty factor going on. The reality is, in time, the 'excitement' will fade. Just like the Golden Voice Man or Epic Beard Man, 'sudden fame' to homeless person who doesn't already have their life in order can have serious consequences. Eventually, he'll be left alone to handle his own life. I pray he can manage sunset well.

Particularly in a bar/club setting, the artist is background noise to most of the patrons who are too preoccupied with their food, their drink or each other. My brothers and sisters here in the US are particularly awful about this compared to my brothers in Latin America and Europe, who at least take the time to enjoy the artist.

I just played at a show this weekend where it was exactly like that. The funny thing is I sang/played guitar better than I ever have live before. I was crazy spot on because I was feeling it, but only about 13 out of the 40 there were paying attention. The rest would talk and talk, but clap when they heard others doing it. :P
