Always been fascinated by Saturn, of course for a better understanding i shall watch the accompanying videos suggested by youtube such as 'myleen klass makes crab cakes' and 'christine bleakley does salsa'
if you go outside the atmosphere of the earth and the sunlight touches your skin will you burn? coz im thinking that here on earth the sunlight is already hot what more in the outerspace...is it this way?
@abrikos22 Icebergs come from glaciers which form on land and kind of slowly slide out to the ocean. As that happens they can pick up a lot of material. An image search for "glacier flows" will give a couple examples of how dirty they can be in sections.
I have a quick question, why does it form on what would seem to be one level/plain? Where as things that orbit the earth can be found scattered throughout the sky?
@TheZingg In my opinion and from what I've read I think they come from a former small moon of Saturn which just broke due to gravity or collapsed with another object? Or maybe it's the way in which moons formed, because between the rings, there are tiny little sattelite moons formed from the rings... So yeah... no proof but speculation but cool to wonder about it anyway :)
Not a fan of Brian Cox so I don't watch his programs. Besides which, all he does is rehash already available and known information. Nothing new and his voice is annoying.
@Atisnemm1 Our Moon isn't a planet. Yes, the brightest planets in the sky are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn and they can all be seen with the naked eye. Google will help you find out when they can be seen from where you are.
have they actually collected pieces for the rings or they guessing?

@Reifgar It follows the gravity of the moons, and is actually not plain from up close.
agearmaster1 7 months ago 9
@agearmaster1 Well on a cosmic scale it is far more planar than not. But I should have figured that bit about the moons. Stupid me. Thank you.
