  • ur an idiot mr. ceiling fan

  • lol you said the total opposite of what to do ahahah but good vid tho

  • 1:51 Lol, heat rises and your pushing it back down.

  • wow, fk microsoft, rrod maybe unavoidable, its like cancer, didnt think this through did ya microsoft

  • should this help keep the xbox 360 slim cooler too?? pls reply

  • Keep pushing down 1 really fast Lol.

  • I keep mine cool by throwing it in the freezer :)

  • lol ive kept my xbox vertical in my musky basement on a carpet and stil havent ever had a problem, its been like that for 3 years and not planning on changing it

  • For some reason my Xbox 360 is allways cold and everything but i still watch this because it entertains me i dont know why???

  • that was a big shit , seriously...open the xbox for real freshness :D

  • why do you guys have to be dicks all he was trying to do was give u sum advice damn..

  • he was measuring how big he wanted his dick 1:24

  • its about 10 inches right ther 1:24

  • Comment removed

  • hick that has no idea what hes talkin about

  • xbox and ps3

xbox will not over heat unless your a dumbass and leave it close to the wall

ps3 will not over heat unless your a dumbass and leave it close to the wall

xbox people rrod just happens to be people that are dumbass and leave it 2 inch away from the wall.......

  • @cod5fan12 Well I guess half of the xbox population is dumb asses then cause it happens to everyone!

  • good i use the tips

  • how to make your 360 cool as possible ... dont turn it on lol

  • some good tips but you only have to have about 2-3 inches

  • i heard that there is a higher chance of overheating if you keep a fan on it because a fan just blows the heat back in

  • not to be mean but u got a mess in the backround

  • how the hell did u get these dimenstions did u build the 360??

  • that's the same amount of space i have from the wall in my media center underneath i have some dvd cases so it has room up and from front to back been good to go since i have had it except a new drive and that's always a given no problems same with my 07 ps3 60gb

  • this is why ps3 is better (it doesn't over heat so often)

  • your room is a mess i dont see how u can live in there espeacially with the heat of the xbox coming out of it

  • Why would plugging the xbox into the wall increase the heat created? Other than that good tips

  • @BeardedHoplite it doesnt. it just so if the power goes out and u have it plugged in the wall u will get rrod. if plugged into a surge protector u wont

  • that's a shitty looking room there

  • INSTALL YOUR GAMES TO THE HARD DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An Xbox could last 7 YEARS THAT WAY!!!!!!

  • dude i found out a new thing i went to build a bear with my niece for her 6th birthday use the box u get from there and put your xbox on it there is like a window and a door on the box so it keeps it cool and put a ground fan there thay are way bigger and they can push all the hot air out and cool air in but ground fans are loud but effective

  • You made up half that shit... you couldnt back any of that up.

  • @TheV1clan excuse me?

  • @TheV1clan your an asshole he knows what hes talkin bout

  • this is one of the most useless vids ever !!

  • watch my vid how to keep ur 360 healthy if u like it i'm going to make part 2 part 2 is cool to

  • this is good, but i also use a pelican fan stand, i gotta vid in my acc check it out

  • thats why people are gettin problems by standing it Vertically, if you stand the XBOX Horizontally then the disc wont fall out and keeps the side vents breathin air in and out

Get the XBOX ELITE, its much better, HD Player included

  • i no obviously nobody want no fuckn playstation

  • ok why do people that have ps3's watch the 360's problems and 360's watch the ps3's problems

  • @GANGSTAGRUNT117 lol why not?

  • @GANGSTAGRUNT117 ps3 want to see how xbox sucks

and xbox people want to see how ps3 sucks its the console war thing its for nerds xD

  • @cod5fan12 yeah it is for nerds that got nothing better to do i made a comment on a 360 vid saying that i wish the xbox had blue ray like the ps3 and i got so much hate for that

  • @GANGSTAGRUNT117 yea thats why people call it the nerdsole war

  • @GANGSTAGRUNT117 why not lol but i dont know why they do it :@

  • when we bought our house. there was already a refridgerator with the house and it was an old one so we got a new one and i took the old one put it in the basement and made the basement a cool place to chill so i drilled holes in the freezer put my 360 in there and then ran up the wires. ive had my 360 for 2 years now and ive never shut it off! NEVER! ITS RUNNING RIGHT NOW. NON STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE ONLY LOST POWER TWICE AND WE HAVE A GENERATOR!!!!!!!!!!

  • pluss the newer ones have smaller power converters(bricks)

  • the xbox 360s made after 2009 were recalled. the newer ones do not have the red ring of death make sure to not get tht ring to buy ur xbox new not refurbished. ur poor if u get a used one. and slightly gay hahaha

  • my gta 4 librity city got scratch because it was vertical

  • the games only got scratched if you move the box when its running

  • still got ring of death

  • thx dude thx now my xbox is silent well not completely.

  • dude, the first 15sec u sound like Michael Jackson that tries to seduce a kid!!!!

  • dudes hear me out .....i tried all that n still got red ring.....it is simply unavoidable

  • @3sixty5days1 try cleaning the fan inside the xbox

  • @3sixty5days1 I totally agree... But it holds it off for a little longer.

  • i think.. vertical is better..

    cuz it blocks bottom part..

which means there is more pressure inside the xbox.. and cause hot air to go out faster..?

    aghhhhh watever..

  • the disc tray made so that u can put the disc in vertical and not be scratched, also vertical is better. there is less surface area touching a hard surface. plus the fans are in the back so the back is all u need to worry about. and the big brick thing is called a power supply. and plugging it into a wall would be better than using a strip because u plug multiple things into a power strip. it can be bad if u over load an outlet. less things in one outlet is better than more things in an outlet!

  • putting the console in a vertical position almost completely blocks a major vent thats located on the bottom of the console (assuming that it was standing up). The big brick thing isn't rly a power supply...more like a transformer (the xbox doesnt need 120V...rather it only needs 100V...the rest is sent back to the brick and is recycled...). And finally, plugging your xbox into a power strip is better for it. Most strips today have a surge protector in them, so it would be better than the wall

  • it aint completley blocked!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • intercooler works best ive had mine 4 yrs no rrod

  • @matrixownz- ITS ACTUALLY BAD, INCREASING THE RROD!

  • clean your room man that bad

  • Lol I'm not doin dat shit!

  • cleann you roomm mann but the tips is good xD

  • First these tips r all common sense second is that a pic of bob saget in the background??!!

  • i had the RRoD once when somthing wasnt connected XD

  • 3:04 Does he say penis?

  • idunno, the bottom doesnt "suck in" most of the air. the air is ventilated through the sides were its susposed to go. jeez? it is actually reccomended that you stand it up.

  • ok i asked microsoft and told me that the intercooles ceap your xbox cool and not hot i have a nyko intercooler ts and it works really good so go git it !!!!!

  • Go to your english classes please, Seriously.

Back to topic, Nice tips man. Plan on buying a tiny fan for extra cooling.

  • hey man lol you still got the rrod even though you did all this shit

  • dont use the nyko intercooler that will fricken kill your xbox trust me it happend to me a couple weeks ago it was collcting dust

  • thanks man

  • holy shit you have a lot of wires!!!!

  • Ok. yo cant place the Xbox 360 on the horizontal position, this will block the 2 cooling vents on the side, this will cause the RRoD. The bottom is not necessarily a vent, its a accessory on the xbox, and lots people get fooled by the bottom attachment. And another thing is, if you have $25.00 you can go to gamestop and buy the Nyko Intercooler TS, this intercooler uses it's own power supply so theres no worry in it.

  • the intercoolers suck! they screw up the xbox and cause rrod

  • Tell 5 reason's why the intercoolers suck, if you dont have a reason then don't comment back.

  • they void ur warranty because they melt the plastic at the back of the xbox!

  • No it doesnt, if your xbox would heat up without the intercooler, it wouldn't burn the back of the xbox, it BLOWS HOT AIR OUT, no keep it in there long enough, and the hot air that blows out of the xbox is not hot enough to melt plastic. and you didnt state 5 reasons why.

  • just use a dang table fan there small and use the same effect as a intercooler

  • the fucking power cord block thing is the consoles own power surge protector

  • fuck me.. i dont know what the fuck to do!!!!!!!

  • when i get my console back im gonna put a fan to the right of it and keep it cool

  • you are and idiot you hae it plugged straight to wall so it doesnt have to share power with anything so it gets the exact amount of power going through it that its supposed to have having it in a splitter will give u rrod because its not the correct amount of power.

  • just put it inside the freezer and play wiht it , lol

  • lol

  • keep it on a cake cooling rack (on its side i prefer) to allow circulation, out in the open not in a media center thing, and the side grills dont really do anything, DONT hook any fans into the usb ports or use any form of external fans at all, and if your willing to open it do the 12v mod and stay away from marketng genius's talismoons, theyre less powerful than standard

  • you are supposed to plug the 360 into a wall outlet not a power strip because the 360 needs Alot of power and it works evn harder in a power strip which makes it overheat quicker

  • Another thing you can do is put your xbox on a BOX yes it sounds weird and stupid but it works trust me . But make sure the box is empty . I had one red ring of death and on of my friends still has one of the first original xbox when they first came out he always put it on a box never had any problems just make sure all the vents aren't blocked and dont play for 8 hours straight take a half an hour break .

  • so how does hutch not get it he playz on it all day!

  • nah d00d, he plays like 2 hours a day

  • Get a PS3, and you won't have to trouble yourself thinking the system is cooled - I did.

  • Amen to that .

  • the same thing can happen to a ps3

  • If i put a fan to the right side of the console, will it keep it from overheating as much, because i am deciding to put a mini fan to the right side. But my friend said that it isn't a good idea.

Please reply back before i can decide to put 1.

    Thanks

  • just put it on I did and nothing has happened so far

  • ok. thanks

  • its a stupd idea, the grills are too tightly closed up

do a 12v mod with a fan speed controller and keep your xbox on a cake cooling tray and stay away from talismoonf ans theyre stupid marketing and dont do a shroud mod (except the divider bit at the back with a bent bit of card (so 1 fan is all cpu, other is all gpu) then your sorted

  • damn i have a chair just like the one the 360 is sitting on same color and all lol!!!

  • my xbox 360 never overheats... if you have about 7gb or more then you can make your xbox 360 never get hot it gets warm but thats it...

and you dont have to open your 360 or anything, its simple

  • just hang them

  • hey man.. im very confused now... one vid it said do not put ur 360 in a surge protector... now ur using it... so far ive seen 2 vids that say use a surge protector...

  • DO NOT USE A SURGE PROTECTOR! it reduces the power of the 360 causing it to overheat! hope this helps.

  • i had mine for 2 year and got 3 red light it sucks

  • that really couldnt b comfortable for a gamer its all messy and full of wires.......

  • thanks for the tip

  • just get a ps3 jeez

  • i have had my xbox for 3 years and it has 3 inches and it has nether overheated

  • you can tell he spent his life savings on this thing if he is serious about this and look at the background. dude clean your house!

    no offense. just saying.

  • well i have done a lot of things to prevent overheating. i had a box fan i had it on a rack and i had an air conditioner on in the room and it overheats like crazy. i have tried it horizantal and vertical and they both make it over heat. i have a nyko intercooler on it and im starting to get annoyed with it. any ideas about how to fix it. oh and my i add that my ps3 has had absolutly no problems with about freezing or overheating.

  • easy way to keep it from over heating is STOP PLAYING SO MUCH! ive had my xbox for 2 years never over heated but i never play for more than like 3 hours staight. lol

  • REALLY? i just got a xbox,,and im worried about this, i just play for around 2 or 3 hours to,,o less!, u think my 360 will be fine?

  • yeah it takes like 8 hours to over heat unless its all closed in.

  • Well its guna get hot it doesnt mean its gunna make it cold

  • HOLY SHIT man clean your house you are a fucking slob.

  • LOL

  • when u put it horizontal, i heats up faster its hottest on the bottom

and remember, microsoft built it to be vertical! not horizontal!

  • if you put your 360 horizantal under a rack with ventilation it will not overheat

  • Aha but, if you place a thin object underneat it such as a book, this will leave much more suface area open than if you stood it vertically :p

Also horizontally opens up and extra heat vent which is mainly why ppl do it ^.^

  • i installed RE5 On my hard drive and it got mashed up the disc is fucked up

  • the 360 only scratches ur games vertical if u knock it over. I've jad my 360 vertical since November 3, 2008 and i have not gotten any probs. also don't put ur 360 horizontal in a hot place cuz then it will suck in the hot air. and u should get the nyko intercooler ts not ex. the ts runs on its own power and keeps the 360 cooler than tha ex

  • can u add me im biohazered96

  • "if your xbox has rrod I hope Microsoft doesn't give a penis to you" What?

  • isn't BEING a penis to you...lol

  • I keep mine standing up. I have since I bought it. Never red ringed ever.

  • me too

  • ill play u add me B0TSyst3m and thx.....

  • GOD DAMN wud it have killed u to clean up that room befor u made a video in there

  • your not his mom pal...

  • wut do yu mean to not connected it straight to a wall plug

  • as in dont plug the power brick into the wall socket, plug it into a power strip or surge protector

  • o ok thnx

  • y do u ceep on peting ur xbox360 haha like at 3:09

  • man is your computer a 2010 dell?

jhaha jk try getting a new computer man

  • my PC is custom built, there is no specific manufacturer...

  • that is one sweet television u got there how many inches is it becuz i got that is 32 inches

  • also you can put it on a book or to

that works well coz it can ventilate all round

  • ur supposed to poug it in directly to a wall caus if u connect it to extensions it doesnt give enough power to teh xbox and the box trick works

  • it would suck if your stool fell over

you should get something more sturdy.

    just some edvice

  • Your room is a mess!

    but, thanks

  • Its actually good to put your 360 ontop of the box it came with.

So if you still have it, it can prevent getting the RRoDs

  • so true cuz my friend has a 360 and its still runing great cuz of the box trick well and mine is resting in peace lol RROD=so not cool

  • dats all comon sence.

  • haha... you wouldn't want to knock over the stool.... Mr health and safety my ass.... I recon that risk of knocking over the stool is alot higher than the risk of it overheating....

  • Actually my 360 was there just for the video, considering that there was no other place to put it, i have since stopped putting it there on the exception of a few other vids...

  • thats fair enuf.... i heard that u can buy an external fan made by microsoft that you plug into the back of the xbox... is that true.... and if ya, how much does it cost

  • ya there is it cost 20 buks i gots it its ok...... i guess

  • I WANT TO PLAY!!!

  • You forgot to add that you can get the RROD by sitting your Xbox on a tall stool.

You have no clue what you are talking about. lol

  • dang microsoft and their penis-like qualities. dude a lot of this is not necessary. just buy a whisper fan and close all air passageways that dont need air on the inside.

  • thanx so much mine was over heating thax bro hey messge me on yt meaybe we can race in GTA 4 im realllly good

  • at 3:05 it sounds like you are saying penis lol.

  • uhh why would they put the rubber stands or w/e on the bottom where the air is sucked up if its not meant to be stood up like that...?

  • its so the tech guys(or you) know where to open the console from if you need to repair it or something

  • ooooooooo, i see..

  • Comment removed

  • all of this is just common sense

  • That is how it almost always works out to be. Some people just lack that sort of thing and need for someone to show them though.

  • Would an open window on a mildly cold day work as a sub for a fan? Also, my power brick is in the middle of wire hell.. is that bad? Both parts of the xbox are away from any walls or large objects.

  • Dont put it near the window unless its always dark becuz the sun will heat it up alot and poop "Red ring" :{

  • You actully are supposed to plug it into the wall, not into a power strip.

  • one tip i have is just put in the window it works

  • wow...talk about babying your xbox... cut off the ambilical cord dumbshit i think it will survive without all that safety crap

  • actually if u have it vertically its better dumb ass cause less of the console is on the ground and my opinion with any fucking console you shouldnt have to worry about these problems at all oh ya how would plugging your 360 in the wall make it have the red ring whatever?

  • yea cept th fan is on the bottom and it can get any cool air into it if its suckin the floor now can it get ur head outta ur ass haha

  • well as much as that's helpful the 360 is not for cooling.

  • awsome vid keep it up. plus dont you wish there was a gears of war limited edition? that wuld be so cool

  • i put my console, horizontal,on wood,in a non dusty place(as mutch as possible),with about 20 cm of the wall, and on the sides it has about a meter of place and the hot air escapes from behind the tv. i keep the brick upsidedown(cools better) in an open place. and it works fine for me.(sorry for my bad english i speak dutch.

  • These are very good tips for keeping your 360 cool, but the rrod is not to do with overheating, It's just a fucking manufacturers fault. Just got mine replaced by them couple of weeks ago under 3 year warranty.

  • inches my ass cm rule!!!!

  • true, damn imperial system is all fucked up and very innaccurate

  • horizontal is better

  • wtf i do the exact opposite and my xbox has not died your vid is pointless trekky

  • dude everything you just said right now i was doing the exact opossite i had it up ,i kept it close to a wall i had the brick thingy all tangled up wow dude thanks so much for the tips

  • lol nice with the tape measure

  • okay thats it every video I watch tells me to lay it a diff way someone tell me wich 1s hoizontal or vertical
