I have MasterCam X MR2, though I am considering switching to X4. Under HSM for pocket roughing it has the same settings as your program though. I will have to read up on the dynamic tool paths and see what the difference is. Do you still run .016 spacing?
@compucar03 This was with a 0.030" stepover. Normally you'd be able to use higher speed/feed/step but this part was made with an HSS endmill so everything was limited. The numbers just come from experimentation, I usually start with 10% tool diameter then adjust the feed depending on the spindle torque. But you can only do that with a tool that won't be shattered by the torque...
@compucar03 I was afraid of gouging the tool and not having any room to get chips out (might be able to increase it, but with experimentation). Do you have X4 or X5? The new dynamic toolpaths would have taken a workpiece this size and taken maybe 5 minutes to rough it all out...

@compucar03 - well, with X4 it figures out the spacing automatically. I'll send you a PM with some info...

Where did you go to find out what settings to use?

@ydna2
What made you choose .016 loop spacing?

Ya, well can it make ice cream?

I don't think so, but it can make cotton candy. The toolpaths are the same.

Sweet, I'll take it.

@hellfighter22 um.... Yes. It can make ice cream. The power requirements to turn the churn handle on the ice cream maker are actually quite low.
