  • Only 3 fluids in the car? INCORRECT!

Refrigerant for the AC system, fluid for the inverter + motor cooling system, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, fluid for the Resistive heater system (the Resistive heater is under the hood and heats a fluid that gets pumped into a radiator in the dashboard).

.. and then also a fluid in the lead acid accessory battery if you want to count that as well.

    So at least 5-6 fluids.

  • @danwat1234 Why would there be a radiator or motor cooling system?

  • @SirAvalord

The electric motor and Inverter(which converts the batterie's DC voltage to AC) and possibly DC to DC converters (to increase/decrease voltage in relation to the battery pack) are cooled by a circulating fluid.

The radiator(s) would be for the motor cooling system and for the air conditioning (condenser coil).

  • @SirAvalord the motor and associated electronics are cooled via fluid because it is far quieter than if they just had fans to cool them. The only noise is the electric fluid pump and the quiet whir of variable speed radiator(s) fan(s) to keep them cool when needed to be on.
