None of this definition of "rape" was in the version I was in more than 20 years ago (I was one of the fathers). A few of our audience in the dinner theater wanted to leave because they didn't get the connection between "rape" and "abduction." In the original, El Gallo says "rape" throughout the number. Too bad current audiences aren't better educated.
I absolutely loved this, until I saw the change in wording. I guess I can understand why, but it really doesn't work without the shock value. Still, a good interpretation.
