  • you said this already-ergo -- why I replied. Now the academy can be bought off ?

For an old raspy joe he got to kiss the beautiful Genevieve---lucky stiff

Anyway-- Long live us Dicky Burton fans! Where Eagles Dare! A goody

  • Mac'reedy' youre an idiot who wouldn;t know good acting if it hit you. Stay off the airwaves you non critic. I saw the movie in 69 and can the Academy all be wrong? goof

    you keep spewing your puke

  • Mac'reedy' youre an idiot who wouldn;t know good acting if it hit you. Stay off the airwaves you non critic. I saw the movie in 69 and can the Academy all be wrong? goof

  • @JuanMacready You are intitled to your opinions but be respectful, you shouldn't wish death on anyone.

  • poor anne she was innocent and he killed her for all the false accusation against her and the ten days later takes another wife as with the rest of them

  • I admire her for now but not when she give in to hank here, she weaken down till her death. What is there to admire of her?

  • For me,she is the most beautiful Anne of all.

  • Loool Geneviève Bujold comes from my place, the province of Québec, in Canada!! She's very good, I never saw that movie... She's old now.

  • Genevieve Bujold's performance wall fantastic! All time favorite movie!!!

@FRANKCLANTON-what a hateful thing to say.

  • A fucking awful movie. Burton was a talentless wooden actor and he was too small to play Henry VIII. I'm glad he died early.

  • @FrankClanton presumably Pokemon is the limit of your movie going experience?

  • No, I like actors who can act, not a talentless stupid loser like Burton.

  • @JuanMacready Such as?

  • Er, BRANDO, James Dean, Robert Mitchum etc, all natural film actors unlike the talentless overacting wooden ham Burton.

  • @JuanMacready James Dean pulped himself in a car, Brando was too Italian - you seem to miss who was being portayed - H8 was of Welsh descent as was Burton. James Dean was far too skinny to have played that role - would have looked ridiculous!

Though I suppose Boleyn could've had an offer she couldn't refuse from Brando 8th:)

  • Er, Brando was Dutch actually, like Dirk Bogarde. Dean might only have starred in three films but at least he could act, unlike the talentless Burton.

Burton was too small to play Henry VIII and his horrid rapsy chain smoker's voice was entirely out of place. I'm glad he died at only 58, pity it wasn't from LUNG CANCER.

  • @JuanMacready Didn't say Brando was Italian - read! I hope that your passing is of something nasty - you seem to have a twisted streak in you & perhaps the world would be better off without you! At least Burton did something with his life - unlike a sad muppet like yourself. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • @JuanMacready

    You're insane and disgusting.

  • Burton was a wooden film actor and an overacting ham who just copied Olivier.

  • @JuanMacready

I see a lot in Burton's acting but not a shred of Olivier. Pull yourself together, your hateful bitching is a disgrace!

  • Burton never could act at all and just shouted his way through every movie. I'm glad the racist died at only 58 but it should have been from lung cancer.

  • @JuanMacready

Well, given how much venom you're spouting, you are no better than your warped opinion on Richard Burton. Karma will bite you in the ass one day. Wishing death upon anyone is pure evil. Hypocrite!

  • Keith Michell will always be the best Henry VIII.

  • @JuanMacready

With that I agree 100%. Michell owns that role!

  • she looks so much younger than 30. Fantastic actress Nevertheless

  • she is my second favorite Anne Boleyn.....Natalie Dormer is also my favorite...to be honest I really can't choose between Natalie and Geneviene.... :)

  • I'll give the portrayal of Anne B. in this scene one thing....she had some balls saying the things she said to Henry...esp. if you consider all of the things that she mentioned that would be done to those she loved and knew could have EASILY been done at the mere nod of Henry's head!!

  • Make no mistake...Henry WAS a tyrant...hell-bent on getting his own way..whatever the cost...this scene was particularly powerful in this movie.

  • does anyone know where i can watch the full movie online ive tried everything and it wont work

  • I really love this movie...i think that Genevieve did a great job in playin Anne Boleyn

  • Who plays Anne? shes a good actress but she looks REALLY young I thought she was a little kid!

  • her name was genevieve bujold. she does look young, but she's an amzing actress.

  • I think she was actually like 28 when she made this movie...

  • Genevieve Bujold was 22 during the filming of this movie; she is well matched with Burton.

  • The real Anne was fending off Henry at the age of 18 at this point in her life.

  • Genevieve Bujold was born in 1942, so she was 27 or 28 at the time of this film. Most historians believe that Anne was around 27 at the time Henry was first seriously interested in her in 1526.

  • Bujold was older than she looked in this film: film producers said she was 22. The year of Anne's birth is disputed, but

she just returned from the French court, where she was educated, when she caught Henry's eye. She would fend him off for six years, at first reluctantly, and then deliberately, using her unbidden power to secure the maximum advantage for herself and family.

  • The producers probably subscribed to the belief that she was around eighteen when Henry first wanted her; I know the tagline said something like that for the film. That probably made better drama and of course they would want to have life imitate art as much as possible for promotion. However, I of course agree with your later statement.

  • WHAT FILM!??

  • Anne of the Thousand Days

  • o phil ya sexy minx!!!i miss you...suze

  • yeh i didnt think tht anne would have so many deformaties as it was rumoured, cos why on earth would the king be attracted 2 her if it were true. since he got rid of anne of cleves, his 4th wife 4 tht reason!

  • for her wit she was not a great beauty but very clever

  • i dunno...i think she must have been an unconventional beauty, b/c the first source saying she was not a great beauty also condemned her as a witch...unfortunately, that source went down in history...

  • youre right, she had dark hair and eyes, unlike the fair with blue eyes, she was considred unconventionally beautiful.

  • Did you know Anne Boleyn had six fingers? It's true.

  • Based on what? Anne did not have six fingers according to all my research on her. It was based on a rumour started by the people who hated Anne back then. If she did have six fingers, the king or any other men would not pay any attention or attract to her. Back in sixteenth century, no man would want a woman with sixth finger let alone a king.

  • no she didn't. That was a malicious rumor started by her enemies. Henry wouldn't have TOUCHED her if she had six fingers...

  • Nooooo!

This was a mean rumour made up to support one of Henry's claims that Anne was a witch.

  • I heard that she was a witch. But I also heard from school (yes, i'm serious, from school), she had six fingers.

  • Nope, People begin to actaually believe the rumor is a fact.

It was to get public to believe that she was a witch and did deserve to be executed, if the insest and adultery crme fell through.

  • No, Anne never had a sixth finger! Or did she have a mole on the side of her neck! Those were just rumors started by her enemies.

  • Good damn movie, honestly, I enjoy this a little better than The Tudors.

  • No she didn't. That canard was a libel dreamed

up decades later by monkish chroniclers

    seeking to discredit her daughter.

Elizabeth's best features were her eyes and

elegant hands, both inherited from her

mother. Just do a search for 'Portrait

young Elizabeth I' for an excellent likeness

    showcasing her hands.

  • WTF?? Dude, do some research.

  • it is true..and a wart on her neck

  • no she didnt that is just a story the english people came up with because they hated her and the myth has gone on to this day

  • no she didnt that is just a story the english people came up with because they hated her and the myth has gone on to this day

  • I don't know where you got that from, but it's utter rubbish. No such "evidence" was used in her trial.

No eyewitness accounts of Anne's appearance ever mention such deformities, and it is unlikely that the King would've taken her as his wife (and the mother of his children!) if she had them!

  • Comment removed

  • Horrible Histories is full of innaccuracy and libel, but my knickers are perfectly untwisted!

  • Comment removed

  • The horrible histories books are full of inaccuraies in one it Jane Seymour was protestant.

  • i know right

  • Nowhere in ANY historical records can a mention of a sixth finger or ANY deformity be found. Not even the most vicious ambassadors who criticized her coloring as too swarthy, her hair as too dark and her bosom as too small mention a sixth finger. It's a stupid myth. Nothing else.

  • She never had a sixth finger! Do some research!

  • she had a tiny stub which was not exactly a finger, but she always tried to hide it

  • Also, when Queen Victoria had Anne's remains studied in the ninteenth century, there was no evidence of a sixth finger.

  • lol

  • Richard Burtons Is perhaps the finest actor of his time, of any time

  • Henry VIII was a bastard.

  • not really he wasnt a bastard child

  • but i know what u mean anyway and yes he was

  • I guess God made sure that he never have sons because they would have grown to become more him and that would be the biggest threat to women.

  • He did have two sons; Edward VI, son of Jane Seymour, his third wife and Henry Fitzroy, son of Elizabeth Blount, his mistress.

  • no he wasnt but his ancestors who were his claim to the throne were

  • She was both a great beauty and very intelligent.

  • i agree

  • whoa..LOTR???i though tthis was Henry the VIII

  • lol i wanna know where 2 find that music I LOVE IT!

  • can you post some scenes with Katharine of Aragon and when he says that I'll marry Nan if he has to tear the world in two? and the scene where Henry falls for Jane Seymour?

  • can you post the scene where they sing the song "Farewell my pleasure past?"

  • o and henry was waaay hotter!!

  • umm this is not accurate. anne wasn't that stupid to say this before she was queen. she WANTED to be queen not the wife of percy. she was just angry and vengeful because wolsey embarassed her.

  • it's more accurate than the Other Boleyn Girl though. At least this Anne isn't evil!

  • I'm a history buff, an Anglophile, and cineaste, so

this film works on every level for me. And I love

the clothes! No wonder it won the costume Oscar that

    year.

  • Here here, you and I are most similar! I simply ADORE history, especially The War of the Roses-The Regency periods of England! Am I the only one who somewhat resents "The Other Boleyn" girl coming out in December because that means people like us (who have actually READ the history in books) who have the knowledge will become obsolete?

  • "The Other Boleyn Girl" is a movie made after a novel ... a very good novel that is .. i simply loved it ... it may be historically inaccurate or whatever, but it's still a very good novel and should be treated as such

  • No advertising just through word of mouth it became a bestseller Its a fun read but her distorted version of Anne is rubbish The Boleyn Inheritence was good too

  • Yes indeed, I have a great liking for both books, they are fine examples of Historical literature. I guess what I meant in my previous comment is something like this: For YEARS when I was younger, I had a huge interest in the Titanic and had done a lot of reading and research about it, then that atrocious movie came out and suddenly everyone knew what I did. I fear the same thing with the movie release of "The Other Boleyn girl" since Tudor history is my "thing", if you get my drift. :)

  • that's pretty selfish, but yeah - I "get your drift" :P

  • It's certainly not meant to be selfish, I suppose I am coming off the wrong way here...I understand there are others out there who are and will one day be interested in the Tudor period, I just fear a "Titanic" flashback.

  • It's like this: People who have read the entire Lord of the Rings series, and people who never read the books but saw the movie come out and say "Oh my God, I LOOOOVE Lord of the Rings so much!" I am of the opinion that one must have read the books in order to enjoy the movies (which are FANTASTIC) to their full extent.

  • well ... then i may safely say that I LOVE Lord of the Rings because I have actually read the books ... and i also believe that the movie made after it is one of the rare great movies made after novels ...

  • well, I never read the books, but my mom was OBSESSED with them when she was little, so she dragged us to the movies, so I (sort of) got into them. Well, not really, I just became very interested in Gollum, so I talk about LOTR to my mom a lot :) I liked the movies, but it's not one of my big 'things.' Unless you count Gollum. GOLLUM FTW!

  • continued. I'll probably wind up reading LOTR eventually, but I'M sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy with school, organizations, friends and my own writing, that- well, maybe some day.

  • I disagree, I had never heard of lord of ring before the films came out and I enjoyed those films a lot. I do love lord of the rings and it dominated my childhood when people where obessed with the harry potter films I would love to read the books but I can only find the two towers book.

  • Perhaps it is selfish, but I have spent too many years in study about British History to let a Hollywood whim make it obsolete. Trust me, this is not in any way meant to be rude, it's just how I see it.

  • Don't worry, because people who see the movie won't know the truth... They just have an idea of what happened but tainted with all the inaccuracies of the film. I enjoyed the movie to an extent, but I couldn't get pass all the errors in History!

  • I have studied English History at The Translator's training course in Argentina and this films sticks quite well to what my teacher and books have taught me.

  • Exactly, that's what i am saying my teacher said anne had 6 fingers

  • I also don't like Gregory's distorted version of Anne. She was way too cold-blooded.

  • Niether do most historians, like David Starkey or Retha Warnicke they both pretty much dismissed the book as slander almost

  • she had to have been cold blooded to get rid of katherine of aragon like she did

  • Its been pushed back to February according to IMBD the movie sucks & some scenes had to be reshot before they give us a trailer I dont think this movies going to change much the tudors hasnt

  • Even though Genevieve looks nothing like the real Anne.....that girl is AWESOME as Anne!

  • Genevive Bujold gives such a fierce performance as Ann

  • Man I love this Anne, she is very pretty and a fantastic actress. This scene makes me want to see Anne of the Thousand Days again. Richard almost made me no longer hate Henry VIII

  • I love this scene! No, I love this whole movie. Plus, Richard Burton made an excellent Henry VIII. Although, in the PBS version of this movie Keith Michell also made another awsome Henry VIII. Thanks again for this video. :)

  • I can see her saying all that...she had a temper and good wit ;)

  • Very nice
