  • Zen is about understanding yourself. If you understand yourself, you will see that ego is only illusion, and every goal is your karma, even when you practice Zen to be in "here and now" - this is your karma - you should recognize it. Shunryu Suzuki says, if you try to attain any goal by practicing Zen, your practice will be difficult and you will eventually feel very discouraged

    If you will understand yourself your life will change forever and you will understand why it is important to do zazen
