i agree but disagree every person that are youtube "celebs" mainly started out when youtube was new they started friend requesting everyone because it was exciting like @asskicker49 said, but because of that youtube doesnt let anyone else come close unless they pay for advertising or do an accidental viral video.. what about the ppl that do the same amount of work if not more then youtube celebs but yet get nowhere because every spotlight on yt is on the ones that are already up there.

No when youtube started he would add everyone as a friend night and day, since it was new everyone would be excited for a friend request and subscribe. I think youtube should stress the "Broadcast Yourself" factor on which it was founded I hate people doing the false advertising to get views, I mean what does it benefit you if you get thousands of people to subscribe to you and are putting out poor or no content. I have 2 channels on youtube this being my second but I am working hard to earn subscribers to promote other youtubers. My other channel has been going for over 4 years and it isn't doing great but at least every view is an honest view

First off, it does take a bit of skill to make a facebook page that 100,000+ people who have youtube accounts want to join. Even if it is a bait and switch, it's a lot harder than it looks. They also had to have a bit of originality to come up with the idea.

The yt community didn't suffer much. Most uploaders who get subs are from good quality vids or collabs with other uploaders. Most people don't scour the top 100's for channels to watch.

Really, I don't see the big deal.

Now i agree that scamming people on facebook is right, but how do we, small users with no partnership are allowed to get more subscribers? Look at top 100, there is only 1 that isn't partner with youtube, angryvideogamenerd, and he is falling down the chart. Other thing is i see everyday spam in my inbox (go check this guy out etc) from channels that don't have any videos. If i click on the link it will take to youtube partner, and probably that partner made that spam message...
