i think you analyzed this. He probably came across that way cuz he was sitting in a room with STEVIE WONDER, and he was a little nervous, so seemed a little off in his approach in answering questions. If you listened correctly, the singers he mentioned were singers whom he covered in his album, not merely a list of influences. The 3 he actually listed as favorite influences were Stevie, Marvin, and Michael, which are no-brainers. I'm sure he didn't need to try hard to think of those 3.

i respect robin thicke so don't take this the wong way... but the guy can't sing at all. he sings in ultra falsetto and has no vocal range AT ALL. stevie is a legend. he has a voice that is indescribable and he can STILL hit a lot of his younger day notes. i like thicke, but he definitely lacks the talent. he's a respectable song writer though.
