How come every time I see a cover band talented enough to play Zappa tunes, they're NEVER American?
Thank god the rest of the world is keeping Frank's music alive, because it's extremely rare to find other Americans who have ever even heard it.
Any American Zappa fan knows exactly what it's like to have their friends ask "What the f*@k are you listening to?" and dismiss it like they actually know something about music. Morons.
So thank you, world. See you at the next Zappa Plays Zappa show.
no its not this is willie the pimp (kidding). yellow snow and nanook rubs it combined. im sure its hard as fuck to cover frank as his style was very distinct and guitar style viscereal. cant really duplicate or replicate but any tribute to the man is awesome. props due for this version
the guitarist is great drummer and bassist hold their own...the one problem here is that frank zappa's vocals are full of emotion and although this singer tries to emulate it he doesn't have the edge that frank had and besides that words that are supposed to be empahsized aren't in The Frank's version. he just does a bad job emulating franks vox and it leaves certain places in the song that are supposed to be exciting very dry
I remember spending a painful $4.95 for yellow snow, in 1977. and another 5 bucks for roxy & elsewhere. best money I ever spent. wish I still had them 8 tracks!
the second track on that album is called nanook rubs it
