  • nice I always wanted one but with .22lr a pistol is just a little more portable.

  • i don't like the shiny stock

  • is it possible to shoot it without putting the receiver on the stock?

  • @AkSinMedia yes but you wont hit what your aiming at...

  • @Supergear100 well yeah, just wondering if its possible haha

  • I have a review and a vid of a ten year old girl shooting an AR-7, goes to show how easy this gun is to shoot.

  • @Eatallthebirds Can it be shot without the barrel?

  • Good review of my Ol' 22 canoe plinker from the late 70's. -- Still plinkin' with the original (2) eight round magazines & lead bullets. ** KEEP IT CLEAN **

  • Your effort in making this video certainly assisted in making up my mind to spend my available funds on this survival rifle. YOur comments on the grouping sealed the deal. thxs man!!!!

  • HAHA EUGENE STONER

  • Thats a good idea.(2:29) lol

  • bro, i have like 5 of these.

    great gun

  • Newer rifles come with a orange honeycomb storage area in the stock.

  • @survivalairgunner two words, shot placement.

  • very cool. i should get one of these for when i go camping and quading. might be a bit difficult to swing since I just bought a golden boy thought.

  • I'll trade you my new Camillus OVB Fisk Hunter #358 of 500 for it.

  • Great review, very detailed.

  • i want survival

  • i dont know witch one to get between the survival or the goldenboy

  • @forcierlogan i have the same issue!!!

  • lol screw hole

  • Great video thanks

  • got mine at Basspro for $220

  • I love this firearm I own one my self it is very good and shoots well. I have also used this firearm for hunting small game this is a very dependable survival rifle that everyone should have in there survival kit...

  • @USAdude30 sad that Rob Paul fucked himself being a good ol boy racist. He had good ideas otherwise.

  • i feel the same way about anal sex with my gf "sometimes it just really takes some fanagling to get into the screw hole" HAHAHAHAHA MAN THAT SHIT WAS FUNNY

  • i think in less you hit one in the eye they would just laugh then eat your brains but what about a m6 scout 410 shot shell kill or wound

  • The Henry's plain out suck. The Charter Arms are good, but for a real AR-7, get an Armalite AR-7, they are not cheap (around $300 if you find one) but they are the only version adopted by the USAF

  • Comment removed

  • these things are fun as hell!

  • Should I buy from friend? for 30$ ? good deal?

  • Thanks for the review. I've got to have one now.

BTW..The ONLY way for this tattered "Republic" to be restored is to vote for

    Ron Paul 2012.

    Restore America Now!!

  • Гарна цяцька....

  • @survivalairgunner

I read about a couple of hunters in 1953 that killed a grizzly bear with one shot from a .22 lr. If it'll kill a grizzly, it'll kill a zombie.

  • Couldnt they make a larger caliber with only minor increases in size and weight?

  • One of the finest little rifles ever made. I've owned two. Get the one with steel barrel. Great for backpacking, accurate, fed myself and son for weeks while hiking the John Muir Trail. Ammo is cheap and light to carry. Used 44 mag. as sidearm in case of grumpy bears.

  • Thanks for your nice work!

  • THE ONLY RELIABLE FULL-AUTO RUGER 10/22 .22LR SUB MACHINE GUNS ON THIS EARTH. We are living in the 'golden age' of firearm design & modification. Look at this wild thing on my YouTube. GUN SLINGER VIDEOS sells a DVD video explaining an easy way the convert any semi-auto Ruger 10/22 rifle into a true full-auto. All other Ruger full-auto conversions suffer from 'bolt-bounce / light-strikes' which cause many malfunctions. GSV conversions have been tested with no malfunctions.

    Call: 425-293-5977

  • Should be a 22 mag. or even 9 mm to be a better survival carbine.

  • @LaGrandeBeaute no one was talking to you, bro.

  • I have one of these great little rifles. They are very ammo sensitive. That is actually by design, per Henry Arms. The reason is that the weapon has been designated as a potential assassination weapon, and therefore the recoil spring has been tensed to disallow subsonic rounds. It will fire subsonics, but it won't eject the round to rechamber the next round. I have never had a missfire or jam though using 22LR. Great review.

  • Hell for $249, it's reliable, compact, light, and honestly, there's no reason NOT to have one of these in the survival kit.

  • thanks for uploading now i know what to put in my survival kit to perfect it

  • the man who designed had the last name stonner, this must be a good gun.

  • Slow trigger release: pure marksmanship porn for us old firearms instructors.

  • Can I use this to kill coyotes or deer?

  • @TANTAN1998 no

  • @TANTAN1998 Yes but you would have to get good shot placement.

  • @TANTAN1998 Yeah, My buddy shot a Coyote with a 22LR High Velocity. (Took Several Shots)

  • My friend showed me this exact model today at his house.

Where could I buy this model and how much would it cost in USD?

  • @FPSHonduras Well, if you're in the US, it shouldn't cost you more than ~$230 before tax and fees, and you can order it via your local gun shop. If you're not in the US... I don't know. :/

  • i wonder if you can shoot without the barel

  • SOOTCH !!

  • Certainly an interesting and impressive gun, but I find myself more attracted to the Springfield M6 after having shot and traveled with both.

  • this rifle was used in the James Bond movie from ( from russia with love.

when Q gives bond a Attache case with a hidden knife gold coins exploding Talc

and the above AR7, very nice design its now made by ( henry Repeating Arms)

for aprox $200, however it was called the Bang jam gun as it was amo fussy

it liked the good stuff like cci`s 22,lr it floats on water. anther rifle regarded as better is marlin papoose.

    thankyou.

  • The USR AR-7 looks pretty nice, but I wonder how it stands against the Marlin Papoose 70 PSS..

  • and does it come with the second clip?

  • @AIRCADETKIDLOGAN38A yes, it comes complete with 2 mags.

  • this gun looks really fun

  • lol.............stoner

  • FYI... anyone with a Charter Arms that fails to cycle, replace the recoil springs. Mine failed to cycle 20%-50%+ The new Henry springs were 2 pound pull lighter. Now it cycles great.

  • Awesome the USAF uses this and how much would one cost and what other options are there for it?

  • @USSWISCONSIN64 The Air Force NEVER used this. They had other survival rifles such as the M7. As for the AR-7, I purchased one for $200.

  • @stuntmanmike37 I looked on the Henry magazine and the website and it says they do.

  • @USSWISCONSIN64 *M6 Aircrew Survival Weapon.

  • @stuntmanmike37 Cool thanks.

  • Wow, great concept. Another .22lr that comes to mind is the Marlin Papoose. It unscrews in half and fits in a bag that floats. It's in stainless. Cool that Henry still sells these. I will consider it.

  • you think 22lr is good enough for zombie killin?

  • @Luger718A1

cheap plentiful ammo! I say yes haha.

  • @Kbrusky15 not that youd have to pay for ammo when zombies come, but it is plentiful

  • @Luger718A1 i recomend .223 or 7.62

.22 would just piss them off

  • @survivalairgunner I dunno back in the day the russians trained some guys to be able to hit the eyes of moving targets with 22's and they had devastating effect. the 22 can penetrate the skull anywhere around the eyes and over the bridge.... so id say if you have a red dot and your really confident (crazy) then go for itXD

  • @survivalairgunner a human on teh otehr hand it will drop i shood know i took a chest shot from one

  • @survivalairgunner So would you stand in front of a .22 rifle and get shot by one?

  • @survivalairgunner

Actually, I heard that if you aim for the head, the .22 bullet will bounce around in your skull, turning your brain to mush.

  • @Luger718A1

    your dumb

  • @obrien117 how so?

  • @Luger718A1

    zombies aren't real

  • @obrien117 if you say so :/

  • @Luger718A1 i do, just requires aim

  • @BurgerZombieClown yea their bones are probably brittle and skin extra soft...since theyre dead and what not so 22LR will do good work

  • @Luger718A1 I think .22 would be fine.

  • @Luger718A1 22lr would be fine just shoot them in the eye lol

  • @iCraZyCHriSTiaN theyre zombies...brittle bones and soft decaying flesh.... a headshot would be like shooting a watermelon almost

  • @Luger718A1 .22 is a deadly round within the ranges its meant for

  • @jakesethsnake1 I sold one to a guy who went home and killed his two daughter, his wife then himself with one when i worked at a gunshop bout 5 years ago

  • @Luger718A1 for zombies i would rather have a 9mm and up more stopping power

  • @Luger718A1 why don't you buy the zombie survival guide it has a section bout .22 rimfire :)

  • @Luger718A1 really... really... there are no zombies

  • @1997dartagnan thats what you think....i mean sure not the undead kind but the infected/braindead/virus kind are possible

  • Can you mount a scope on it?

  • Only problem with suggesting its use by bush pilots is ...they are required by LAW to possess (while in flight in Alaska) at least a 30 cal long weapon. No pistols allowed in Canadian airspace.

  • I have had one of the original AR-7 for many many years and it has had many thousands of rounds put through it and still going strong. the stock is a little bulbus but once you are used to it it's fine. Ugly little gun turned into a favorite for camping and kicking around in the truck. James bond used one in Thunderball I believe.

  • @kq6af Bond used it in "From Russia with Love," but you were only off by one movie

  • This was a great little rifle designed for the sirvival of the aviator. it was not intended for lor life of service, aluminum was the choice for aviation use, as stoner also designed the m-16 first as a weapon for helicoper crews, that is the reason why m-16 is not made totaly of steel.and as stootch said, GOD BLEES AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its far from "impervious to the elements". Aluminum does corrode to a white powder. And with extensive use the aluminum receiver does not hold up well. Every time you put together and take apart that locking ring on the barrel the treads and the slot or key way that aligns the barrel get ate away. Its just a little but over time it gets waddled out. If you have ever seen one that been used extensively you can tell. And it they don't get used and just sit around they corrode.

  • Could you fire just the receiver without the stock or barrel attached?

  • @hmff2510 Yep. From Russia with Love.

  • went and bought one of these today unfortunatley I live in Illinois so I will most likely have to wait 1-3 days before I can pick it up:( cant wait this is a really really cool gun I know its only a .22 but still a great piece! Exspecially if you ever really needed a gun for survival in the wilderness, though I think it could have been made a little cooler had they maybe added a small survival knife and a small med kit and flint. Really cant wait to shoot it ( kinda silly since its a .22 lol

  • @scottwool07 I'm in Illinois too, I picked up a Remington .22LR last year for $120 with a cheap scope. Works great, not a fit in you're bag kinda gun but I would prefer it to that tiny thing considering its half the price. Very cool little thing though, I might have to get one.

  • thank you for the video. it was very helpful!

  • Do the 10 and 15 shot mags fit in the reciever and extra slot for storage

  • in concept this is good idea.in reality it is crap.it jammed so much and i sold it so fast it made henry's head spin as he tried to " pawk his cawr in the yawd."

  • @kickingbird2012 Odd, my Henry works fantastic.

  • @kickingbird2012 what ammo did you use? some .22 ammo will not cycle a semi auto,

  • WATERPROOF BUTTSTOCK!

  • James Bond had one of these in From Russia With Love.

  • hey I recognize your voice from the sks review, nice channel!

  • This was the first rifle i was given when I was about 6 years old! Still have it to this day 27 years later.

  • I just bought one today and am going to go shoot it next weekend i would suggest going to a gun show they have better deals i bought mine for $220

  • rednecks sure are patriotic

  • @emsieixor Patriots. I lived most of my life in Las Vegas, and I'm as big a patriot as you can get.

  • I am thinking about buying one just for its coolness factor.

  • pack in rucksack, ride motorcycle to hunting grounds, assemble, hunt rabbit, pack up, go home, prepare rabbit, feed myself and family.

  • sootch00 is retarded, its deer not deers

  • I always liked the AR-7 in theory, and they even function pretty well, but I've been carrying my Kel-Tec Sub2000 in .40 S&W for years and years now, and that thing is just perfection. It's also extremely accurate for a pistol round out of the 16" barrel. I would have no qualms in a survival situation taking a deer with it at 100 yards.

  • i just went to the henry website, the newest version is real cool, will probably get that next :)

  • yes it seems cool it floats it all packs up in the stock but....I have had mine for nearly 10 years and i was never able to get the sights adjusted for it to shoot completely right. it also jams up alot, so I hardly ever shoot mine. Its a novelty meant to sell because it is cool and it's a cool idea, but needs improvement if you also want to use it as a reliable everyday shooter at the range. If you wanna shoot it on a regular basis dont buy it get a more reliable gun

  • Can it kill? I mean, it look and sounds like a toy gun . .

  • @Quacko69 no its totaly safe. trust me. put the barel in your mouth and pull the trigger, it taste like rainbows!

  • @158057 Oh, yea! I'm gonna try that!

  • @Quacko69 a 22 kills more people per year than any other round because people like you think its a toy

  • @IowaHunter641 You dont now me. I now a little bit about weapons, not this weapon, but other, dont matter. I was asking a question, i didn't say it was a toy gun, so please shut up! Thanks!

  • @Quacko69 you said and i quote "Can it kill? I mean, it look and sounds like a toy gun". Im sorry but im a gun dealer and I get so sick of people calling a 22 a toy because I get at least 4 idots a day saying they are. But yes a 22 can kill it has enough energy to make it into someones body but not enough to make it out most times but while inside it does ricochet inside the body and a bunch of massive wound channels. Sorry again for taking your question that way.

  • @IowaHunter641 Thanks answering my first question.

  • how about for the cleaning of this rifle? Is it possible to take that action apart for regular cleaning on this gun?

  • what is the best ammo to use for this? i've heard folks say that it will only really cycle high velocity rounds.

  • hey sootch were can to find the 15 round mags at? thanks

  • badass!! this is the FIRST ever gun i ever fired!! i think i was about 12 or 13. :D

  • can i store extra rounds inside the stock with the rifle and all the already in it? or theres zero room left when completly stored?

  • I had one a couple years ago... Had to give it to a relative because of Cali's ridiculous

laws.. I remember it being really big.. Maybe because I was still a little kid.. Haha..

    Nice review.

  • i just want it cuz its made by uegen stoner

  • Springfield M6 Scout blows this thing out of the water

  • i want one,but they need to drop the price a lot.you can get a very accurate 22lr for $100-$200,this one is fair but has the compact factor so i think $150 tops is what it's worth.but i might get lucky and get one around that price.

  • As always... Thanks sootch!!

  • THEY COULD JUST WIDEN THE BUTT STOCK A LITTLE BIT AND MAKE THE ACTION A LITTLE LONGER AND YOU COULD TOTALLY CHAMBER THIS RIFLE IN A .22 MAG AND IF YOU CAN CHAMBER IT IN A .22 MAG THEN WHY NOT JUST ADD .17HMR TO THAT LIST AS WELL YOU COULD ACTUALLY DROP A SMALL DEER IF YOU HAD TO

  • it would be cool if they made it in a .22 mag and a .17 hmr rounds would be awesome

  • @ironsoul80 dam right i'd have one of each

  • I need one! Lol, it seems like just a fun, easy shooting gun for everybody and it has some history to it. I feel like taking a break from .30 caliber rifles for a while.

  • The .22 is the most versatile caliber on the planet. It can be loaded to take down a deer, that's meat. You can reach out to touch an unwanted threat as far out as your scope will allow with the correct ammo.

  • I have had one for over 20 years, (Cost $115,00 back then) and it is still going strong. I would recomend getting a second magazine and a spare set of springs. I used it on a canoe trip last summer, and it continues to perform. With care and an experenced hand doing the work, you can get a decient trigger...not great, but ok. The rifle will easily shoot minute of squirel or rabbit out to 50yds, and off a rest a coke can aint safe at 100.

  • sootch did you ever shoot a Thompson contender?

  • They should make one in .32 or .25.

  • just got one for Christmas. took it to the range.. shot great, no jams tight group.

  • Would it shoot if the barrel was not attached?

  • pause at 6:57

  • i wouldn't recommend the ar7 for a youth or as a 1st rifle, because most want to use it as an everyday plinker--it really isn't...and because will only using the cheapest ammo available to plink with--it will jam with cheap dirty ammo.

having said that, i have one and i love it, because i use good clean ammo (cci minimags), and keep the breech and barrel end clean by flushing with cleaner/lube after every session.

don't waste your money if you're not going to buy good ammo or ignore cleaning.

  • this thing would be neat to keep in a small case somewhere with a bunch of rounds it would have many uses especially if shit hits the fan...

  • Skwirl fer dinner.

  • I had one made by Charter Arms back in the 80's it was great, I still have 25 round clip made by Ram Line. I may look in to getting another ond day soon, thanks keep up the good work.

  • eugine stoner? hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Eugene Stoner's a friggin' legend.

  • i dont know why... but ive always wanted to get one these and sbr it into a pistol...

  • what about maintenence if any ? hard or easy ?

  • very long barrel

  • @Sgtrambom60 id shoot him not just in the head but in the face, i hate to advocate injuring an animal like this but bears are thick in every way and shooting either in an eye or nose would drive him/her away assumin you didnt get between mom and cub. just my two cents i dont think your going to be able to kill a bear with a .22 LR round just isnt powerful enough.

  • @seribas I agree, I definitely would avoid a bear, lets stick to rabbits and the like. There are those people that can't take down a bear with a .308 let alone a .22.

Lets us all keep the Survival in survival rifle.

  • would you recommend this for youth use?

  • @wcLAX6 Oh yes, this would be a great beginner rifle. Plus it has the Cool Factor!

  • @sootch00 what kind of ammo were you shooting?remington high velocity?

  • @sootch00 Can it take small game like a rabit or a beaver. and if so would it take a turkey down

  • @ethanissocool Yes .22 lr is good for all that game except maybe a beaver, they are stronger than you think and they might be able to swim away before you can get them. It will kill all those animals for sure though.

  • @wcLAX6 also a good gun for a kid to learn ( if your looking for a 22 ) is a S&W m&p15 older ones do jam but the new ones are fixed its about the same price and looks like a AR!!

  • i think the big issue with jams is that people want to use cheap ammo. don't buy an ar7 if you're into heavy plinking with bulk cheap ammo, buy a semi savage, marlin, etc; this rifle was designed to use clean "expensive" hv ammo. i use cci blazers or mini mags exclusively on mine. NEVER jams.

you want this because it is the lightest weight .22 available, and weight is an issue with your purposes. this is precisely the tradeoff you make getting this over the other breakdown .22's.

  • I prefer the M-6 Scout. Metal > Plastic

  • Good information on this firearm. Thanks. -Randy

  • Hey sootch, good video, appreciate the editing and homework. I had a Charter Arms version some years ago, it wasn't so good, but I've heard the Henry's are much better. I've also heard Henry has upgraded those stocks and don't leak, don't know how true that is. I'm gettin' a Henry!

  • It's a .22. Think squirrels, beavers, raccoons, rabbits. Makes a great small game rifle or survival rifle. It's not for taking down deer. In fact, in many states, it is illegal to hunt deer with anything .25 caliber or smaller.

Very nice video. Very nice survival rifle.

  • HAHA Ugeen Stoner Lol i wanna see a cop pull him over and run his id lol

  • lol..i love you videos because somrthimes there funney!.. you showed the gun compacted and then it said the gun has been safety checked:)

    -keep up the good work

  • @SuperDirtFoot Are you using lead .22 rounds. If you switch to copper you won't have the jams like you do know, and make sure they are high velocity. As for barrel coming unscrewed, never had the issue.
