the quality of music being produced by this new generation of 27th Lancers is well beyond the DCIi standard. Arrangements are superb and the notes are clear, clean and complete. I hope one day we can produce a Music DVD of this corps to preserve their accomplishments for generations to hear in the future. kudos to Sir Lut Garido and all the members of this corps.

try ms JO ANN PERFECIO, shes the best female trumpeter in the philippines...one of the best in note reading...shes the no 1 trumpeter of the UNIVERSITY OF MINDANAO, but shes better in using the soprano, trumpet's equivalent in the drum corps...try to see her...u will be amazed...

If they want good competition they should'nt use the hall of fame award to restrict "The New 27th Lancers". That award was given 17 years ago. This corps is entirely a brand corps & only 3 years old. They were invited to particate at the 2006 Marikina Open Class Competition coz we only had 45 members at that time, we are weak & barely 1 year old & now they want to deprive our new corps to earn their own championship rights when they know now that they are very strong. Where is your fairness?

My wife and I are currently at concord comfort inn hotel to watch the opening competition of the 2008 DCI Season. Our hotel is 20 minutes away from Mt. Diable High School, venue of the competition. We picked up my son and 4 members from their rented house and brought them to the high school for Blue Devils family picnic and picture taking session.

Pointer Part II. Stick height can be accomplished only if you know how to play rudiments. Rudiments comes in first then stick height and stick control. Stroke plays an important role in controlling sound that you want to produce to achieve a well balance tone and clarity. You need a drum tech to show you how to play rudiments and there's a lot of books out there. Lancers will have a chance to learn modern rudiments thru my son. It is not easy thou but hopefully they will learn it.

Just a pointer about playing louder, Higher stick height has nothing to do with playing loud. Louder resonance can be accomplished by playing higher and lower stick height. It is the stroke control that makes your sound louder. Stick height contribute in getting high general effect, ge has high visual & music in its category. However, Phil judging don't have any of this category as we are still using the old system. Maybe someday they will adopt the new judging system to avoid cheating.

cailah0008... You can audition and be a part of the "hall of famer" corps. The big boys of Philipppine Drum Corps. They are currently rehearsing from Monday thru Friday in front of the new Makati City Hall from 6:00 to 9:30 pm. You ca go to our headquarters and check the schedule.

A very fine comment and good observation from Jcarlo23. My son and I will work on stick height and teach modern drum rudiments when we visit this corps right after the 2008 DCI finals in August. My son is a returning member of the 2007 DCI World Champion Blue Devils. He's a snare drummer and will age out next year.

Just wanna say some comment on the percussions.. maybe you should apply height rules on your battery. this will make your sound more accurate and also contribute to your visual during performances.. just a note "If you wanna play Louder, play HIGHER not HARDER".. hope you get it.. just keep on Rockin!!!

Let us take the kids off the street and bring them together to join drum corps. Drum Corps is the best program out there that will teach our kids to become good and responsible individual.

Good tonal balancing betweeen brass and battery on our new concert formation. Keep it up. I am very proud of the new 27th Lancers for the hard work they put up day in and day out. Our new brass exercises is working pretty good and continue working on it thru the last exercise which I know a lot harder. Corps timbre is right on the money.
