• 'And they called it Poppy Love / Oh I guess they'll never know ' Nicely done...the whole piece but especially 'From Hell'..A great idea , my Playlist awaits... ~<(*}*) Penny X

  • sooo I guess I'm a masochist. LOVE your infinitely sad videos. Dear Jordan is great as well as this one - couldn't have done this any better to the wonderful Damien Rice. Again, LOVE your vids and thank you :)

  • a comedy turned horror. sounds great. sounds even better with Johnny Depp in it.

  • does anyone know who the female opera vocals are by whould love to know

  • Absolutely stunning. LOVE Jack, love Damien. Thank you.

  • ooh me, too. :) thank YOU for commenting!

  • yet again, you have me heartbroken. so beautifully done and so freaking sad! every time I see this marvellous piece of work I want to cry in the end.

I love DR's songs and CJS and JD and I love you for this vid, but I think I told you before! :)

And Dear Jordan is also wonderful!

    *smooches*

  • aww! i hate to hear that you're heartbroken...but to pull a tired joke, "i'm not sorry." :) no, really, thank you so much for your comment; it really means a lot that you appreciate my work! *hugs*

  • ~Ohh wow.. this truly is amazing.. you have serious, serious talent ^-^ x

  • thank you oh so much!! that makes my day! :)

  • No problem.. im only telling the honest truth.. this video really is quite something :) you capture the mood so perfectly x

  • ...maybe not a "True happy hollywood ending"..but it's rare that i like those anyway!! ..i have to check out more of your vids!

    Cheers!

  • Mm.. I had a post before this: Just saying what a fantastic vid it is and that I love the song, and that I've also been naive about the true meaning of eskimo until resently but I still listen to it all the time. The song fits perfectly for Jack, and it's very beautiful made - very touching! You're absolutely brilliant and a genius! If you ask me what happens, then I think he dies.. commits suicide, it seems like the right thing...[and then the above comment follows]

  • aha! it makes sense now. :) thank you very much for commenting; for one thing, i'm always glad to hear of other damien fans. i'd have to agree with your take on the ending, but who really knows. these characters have minds of their own, it seems, i just put them in new situations. :) anywho, i'm glad you liked it! and i hope you like my other work.

  • You have MAD, MAD, Skillz, my friend. It's weird to see such skills using corporate footage. I can only imagine what your talent can draw from more than this. Don't get me wrong, it's all brilliant, but something turns me off about the Hollywoody-ness of these films (not Depp, of course), and I can't help but wonder what wonderful things you will create next. This is absolutely professional level, sheesh, we need people like you in Hollywood.

  • firstly: (omfg!) thank you!

secondly: oh, yes, i completely agree about the hollywood-ness. i'm actually a film studies major, so it's somewhat embarrassing that most of my artistic endeavors revolve around POTC. however, when you're lacking in equipment and willing actors it can be something of a project in itself, i suppose. :)

thirdly: (omfg thank you again!) and i'm glad you could see art in my work despite the corporate footage. that really makes my day/week/month.

  • ok i found the one i like the best

  • hehe! xD

  • Hey hey

you are really good edditing and all these shit

    niiiice

    take care

  • haha thanks!

  • This is really well done. I stumbled across it looking at Damien Rice videos. You did an awesome job with editing and choosing scenes for the song.

  • hey, thanks a lot! i'm delighted that someone from outside the POTC realm enjoyed it, especially enough to comment. :) cheers!

  • Brilliant work, this continues to be in my top 5 videos on youtube! Good job!

  • :) thank you! i'm glad you like it so much; i worked hard on it.

  • OMG! Can somebody hand me a tissue? I'm crying my guts out in here! That was amazing...Correction...You are amazing!!!

  • *hands tissue* thanks so much, hun! i'm so glad you liked it!

  • thanks for subscribing, by the way! :)

  • That was incredible! And although the ending was heartbreakingly sad, I loved it! Well done =] xx

  • :) thank you! i always make sad endings; maybe the next one will be happy!

  • you are brilliant...again sony vegas 6? i am sooo getting that programm if that is waht u have used again...BRILLIANT! ure amazing, sorry for explaining wat i feel with such a simple word but..wow...u just manage to get random clips and put them into a context that is so...amazing...wow...

  • gosh, thank you so much! i'm very flattered. and yes, i use sony vegas 6.0 and i highly recommend it. you can download free trial versions online if you'd like to test it out first. it's a little daunting at first, but easy to get the hang of once you figure it out. happy hunting!

  • i'm an idiot. i've already told you about the trial versions. lol i sound like an advertisement for sony. :)

  • ha ha no prob! i've ordered it today :) can't wait for it to come :) yay!

  • this is so clever and original....I really enjoy videos that put a different twist on things. Brilliant job :)

  • thank you so much! i'm glad you like different videos, too, as evidenced by what you say here and by your very own creative work. [p.s. please excuse this tardy response! :)]

  • wow i love this so much.

you are soo amazingly talented is crazy.

this video is DEFF going in my Vlog so that everyone can see!

  • yay!! thanks so much, love! that really means a lot to me; thanks for helping me broadcast it. :)

  • i dont know why it was but something just snapped inside of me when i saw the clips of sparrabeth being reversed and just thinking if they had never met..beautiful work

  • thank you! yea, it's a difficult pill to swallow. i honestly don't think i would give a hoot about POTC if sparrabeth didn't exist. bleak thought, eh? :-/

  • i would because i am in love with johnny depp =]

  • A real masterpiece that you should be so proud of! *claps* Absolutley unique and inspiring to a fellow vidmaker like myself who bows before your awesome skills ;)

  • jack sparrow's broken heart breaks MY heart. he's such a tragic character, so romantic and emotional - there's no way he doesn't feel loss at the end of AWE (no matter if he goes back to elizabeth or not, like you said) and i find that very hard to digest. i'm glad you mentioned the ending - no one's said anything about it yet, which i found surprising since i fancied it rather provacative. hmm...

  • ...regardless, thank you so much for your comment - i always look forward to them! and any inspiration i can give you is beneficial to me, too...the preview for your next vid looks amazing! the manipulation of the dinner scene looks truly convincing and i'm excited for the rest.

  • Mmm, well I think you did a fabulous job :) And I agree, seeing Jack so heartbroken had me hoping for something better on the horizon for him. I think by the end of it all he'd come to terms with himself which I think was important though I still believe his parting with audiences was left too tragic in the end. Ah, well..And thank youvery much for your compliments for my new video! I'm glad it was convincing as you have to be the queen of manipulating scenes so I'm honored, really :)

  • no problem! i'm looking forward to it; i can't wait to see what you'll come up with. :)

  • Oh, my heart is broken. That was so heartwrenching, I - and this is the complete truth - broke into sobs. One can only imagine what Jack may have gone through had he not went back to Elizabeth/had she not accepted him. Oh, I have goosebumps from that climax. Your idea of him erasing her memory was portrayed so wonderfully and the note you left audiences on at the end was stunning. You pushed boundries with this one, and I admire you for it...

  • Ooops...I posted it the same comment twice. It's not my fault. Sorry!

  • ....This was so clear. Really. I read the description after viewing, but I knew everything about this video, even without it. I strongly believe you're not a casual video maker. You should consider of having a director career. You totally are a natural!

    Much love,

    Joanna

  • oh, i'm sorry to hear my other videos have been confusing. is it just the descriptions that are blurry, or are they the videos themselves? if you have constructive criticism, i'd LOVE to hear it. after all, like you hinted, i AM planning on pursuing a career in filmmaking. my major is broadcasting/film and new media, so i could use all the outside opinion i can get. anyway, i'm glad this one worked for you at least! thank you so much for the kind words!

  • Νο, Ι didn't mean your videos. I meant story videos in general. You work is terrific, ediepedie and I'm glad you want to pursue a career in film making. It would be perfect for you!

  • oohhh, i see what you're saying. yea, storyvids can be a little confusing sometimes. they have a very delicate formula: you can't give away too much or try to cram in too much plot, but at the same time there must be a lot of substance for it to make sense. i'm really glad you like my work - thank you so much! i'll try to get something uploaded soon.

  • Νο, Ι didn't mean your videos. I meant story videos in general. You work is terrific, ediepedie and I'm glad you want to pursue a career in film making. It would be perfect for you!

  • You know, I have see most of your latest videos, and actually never got to understand or catch completely the main feeling of each one. Always long descriptions and confused story videos weren't my favourites. But this, really blew me away, I swear. Damien Rice is more than awesome, and you have a unique style. I think that after this video I kind of understand your previous ones...

  • *sigh* I was singing this song today and had to come back to watch the video. Leaves me stunned as usual. Oh and Damien... *praises edie and damien for making the best video*

  • lol! *accepts praise and offers a cookie of gratitude* *...and a damien rice cd*

  • love the video!

  • thanks, darlin'!

  • I just absolutely love this!! This is so fantastically done, I can understand why you like this song - I love it! Wonderful job!

  • thank you! i'm glad i could spread the damien rice love - he practically puts these ideas into my head himself. :)

  • Brilliant one. Very well done, very good idea and damn well shown. Agree with all the good comments.

  • thank you very much!

  • Sorry that I put the comment in pieces but I tried many times to post whole the comment and I couldn't.

  • hey, that's A-OK! youtube has been acting strangely towards everyone with commenting, methinks.

wow, thank you! it truly pleases me to hear that you were so entranced by my vid - i can't really ask for a better compliment than that! the finnish opera is definitely the best part, and i'm glad you mentioned the part where he puts the medallion down...i've always thought of the medallion as symbolism for elizabeth's piratical nature...and yet he's just throwing it all away. thanks again! <3

  • My favourite part is the Finnish opera.I cried at that part.I was holding my breath to see and hear this wonderful video and music.I loved the part that Jack places down the medallion and then Elizabeth at the bottom of the sea.

  • It's more than beautiful there aren't words to describe it.Your editing is really perfect.

  • It's the most beautiful video I've ever seen.

  • I know I say this every time I comment on your vids, but I swear your editing is so f*cking (excuse me language) incredible, you really are the most talented YT user I've ever come across. I was in tears by the end when Jack was actually placing her back in the water, completely erasing her from his mind - there is just not enough I could say in a single comment (or several comments for that matter) that would sum up the effect that this video had on me. So all I'll say is thank-you, love.

  • wow. you are welcome! :) i'm not even sure how to respond to that properly! but, yes, the scene where jack puts her back at the bottom of the ocean was the deal breaker. i saw that scene (in reverse) with the finnish opera while i was messing around w/my software and about bawled my eyes out. to know it gave you the same response is all i needed to hear. thank you so much, darlin'. i'm so grateful for your support.

  • You deserve all the support I can give love - few videos, or even films, let alone fictional ones, can make me physically shed tears - and this was one of them. It just shows you the power you have as such an amazing editor. Oh and another thing I have to thank you for - introducing me to the gorgeous Damien Rice! His music is so beautiful. *runs off to buy Damien Rice CD*

  • ever since i started vidding, i've asked myself (at the wee hours of 3 and 4 when i should be in bed) why in the hell i do this. but then i get responses like yours and i laugh at myself for even wondering. to be able to share an intense emotion with other people, to fabricate something that wasn't already there and have people see it just the way i do, is such a treasure. i cannot ask for praise better than hearing it made you feel something that intense. thank you. (btw: get "9" or "o"!)

  • I'm smiling just thinking that my comments mean so much to you love - thank you. intense is definitely the right word - it was like, he was so broken that Elizabeth's death wouldn't have made the slightest difference to him - he was already dead, so what did it matter? okay, I'll stop posting comments now, if I keep going I might start sobbing again *laughs* (I think I'll start with 'o' cause that was his first album. I'm so ashamed that I had never heard of him before! *hides in corner*)

  • "...he was already dead, so what did it matter?"

couldn't have said it better myself. you're exactly right: he's already dead. honestly, i can't see a greater tragedy than jack sparrow losing the twinkle in his eye.

haha don't feel ashamed! better late than never, especially with damien.

  • wow, i totally agree, LOVE it! brilliant video xxxxx

  • thanks! :)

  • No problem eden love, you are hands down without a doubt probably the best sparrabeth video maker - one of them, or atleast my favourite. you deserve more praise then the one you get :] ♥

  • aww i don't know about that, but i'll take the compliment any day! thank you so much, rory, you're about to put this old lady in tears. :)

  • I ADORE your editing. You have an amazing talent. The whole reverse clips, the tone of the song, the way you worked the drug use scenes. GUH! F*cking amazing. I am not good at leaving comments, but I had to try for this one. I mean I was sitting there like, "Oh my god." Haha. Amazing, beautiful, great! Your best work yet!

  • *squee!* how can you say you're not good at leaving comments after one like THAT? i'm pretty much floored -- thank you so very much! :) comment any time you like; i think i recognize your username from before..."my lady's house" perhaps? anyway, i really appreciate it and am glad the drug scenes worked for you because i was afraid they'd look too fabricated.

  • Yes, I believe the other one I commented on was "My Lady's House". I am glad I left you a great comment. :)

  • lol I loved the reverse clips you chose. It looked so weird having Elizabeth and Jack fly back to where they came from. This was great! Nice job =)

Ps. From Hell worked well for this. I love that movie.

  • i'm glad you enjoyed the reverse sequence. it was the meat and potatoes of this vid, really. i didn't even have the opium idea until i'd already finished that part, so it's good to know that part is well recognized! :) and i'm really glad "from hell" worked for you...i was afraid it would be too awkward since jack's hands would NEVER be that clean. :)

  • That is so heartbreaking, but beautiful. Thank you for losing your marbles and making this video!

  • *snort* you're welcome; i'll be happy to lose my marbles again if it pleases you! *lol* thanks very much.

  • amazing. im awe struck.

  • thank you! i'm glad it had that effect on you. :)

  • i posted two rather long comments, but youtube seems to be holding a grudge against me.. i'll post again.

  • -- but what i probably liked the most about this video is that it's so unique; and you're right pirates probably were all "sex, drugs, rock and roll" back then ;) aand if johnny based his role on keith richards - there is no denying the drugs :] anywhoo, adoratoin for you superb editing. the reversed elizabeth drowning scene at the end had me in tears.. i dont' know why. perfect video, and one that will remain my favourite for a very long time to come.

  • you know, this whole vid started out with me just playing around with the reverse feature while i was bored and uninspired. i did the drowning scene backwards and just sat there in my chair, wide-eyed...watching jack physically put elizabeth back in the water, as if he was so exhausted he didn't care whether she drowned or not. it was heartbreaking, and honestly i never would have made this if i hadn't seen that scene. i'm glad it had the same effect on you...

  • ...thank you so much for commenting, even when youtube was being ornery. i love all your comments as they always boost my ego :) but they also remind me of why i ship sparrabeth in the first place. <3

  • my love ♥ i don't think that there a possibly any words in the english language - actually any language that summarize the impact that this video had on me. it is simply stunning; and marble's you've lost not. trust me. the ending is simply magnificent; i loved the combination of the songs. damien rice and sparrabeth is always the best combination - angst lust romance and tragedy. i love that you can hear his deep irish accnet escape him. something that makes this country proud. --
