  • Strange, the RWS appears much hotter than the info indicates...

  • From another video I see that a .22lr will penetrate about 1600 pages of phone book. This is more than double the CCI CB Long and triple the Aguila Super Colibri. I think these data points are good to know. Ballistics gel penetration tests show a normal round will go through 6 to 8 inches of gel. I would guess that these go through 3 to 4 inches of gel. Thanks for the video, it was great and I learned a lot.

  • @0:54 what's that noise ?

  • How many FPS?

  • I don't care who you are, If you own a .22 LR, you have assassinated a phonebook or two in your life.

  • it's primer only ammo -there is no gun powder. it is for close range pistol shooting like indoors pistol ranges -600 ft per second- fun stuff for a back yard range

  • RWS? just curious

  • 4 clicks right should do it my friend.....

  • what where you using in your squrril vids

  • Subsonics are heavier and pushed around less, better aerodynamic shape too. I'v decided against an air rifle due to this video, Ill get a .22 and use subsonics

  • With a nice quiet .22 load there is hardly any difference in noise and a shit tone of difference in power. Good choice.

  • How loud is the cb long compared to the colibri?

  • Subsonic ammo will always have more of a drop than regular ammo. In order to not get the supersonic crack, the projectile cannot travel over about 1,000 fps. I wouldn't recomment using a barrel longer than 16" because a standard velocity .22 bullet actually Loses velocity past 16". So just imagine how much energy you lose in a 22" barrel with a subsonic round, which has less power/ less power. Google bullet ballistics and read about ammo. It's truly interesting and will improve your accuracy.

  • i just killed a 250 lb hog dead(didnt take a step) at 80 yards using a remington subsonic 22 bullet. It took the other hogs a second to realize they were being shot at. I RECOMMEND THESE BULLETS!!!!!

  • where can you buy subsonic rounds

  • Ok I've always wondered how much of a difference subsonic ammo vs standard makes a difference in muzzle volocity, fps, but mainly how does it effect the DROP of the bullet over a distance

Plz help any1 have an answer

  • @Forbidenangel0

Up till 100 yards there really isn't a huge difference. For reasons unknown to me, subsonic 22 ammunition is less effected by wind drift. Its really inhumane to try to kill anything past 100 yards with a 22., unless your shooting a match quality weapon and an assured headshot can be made.

  • those .22 rouds r reallly quiet and also good shooting u just have to fix the sight a bit

  • subsonics fired from bolt actions sound like airguns!

  • if they are longer than 20 inches

  • @lexmark136

Actually, they perform almost EXACTLY like an airgun of the same caliber. Same velocity and everything.

  • they travel aclose to 1100 fps.

.22 caliber airguns rarely exceed 700 fps.

    that makes quite a difference.

  • cool, very quiet.

  • I had no clue CCI made their low-noise sub-sonic in .22 longs? They are only 10fps faster than the shorts? I guess its just so you can have a low-noise sub-sonic round that will cycle throygh a magazine.

  • i live in a residential area and i was wondering if i use subsonic rounds in my basement would it be loud enough for people outside to hear?

  • I wouldn't think any of the above could be heard if shooting in your basement. Maybe with a couple windows open you could hear the RWS, but probably not the CCi and surely not the super colibri.

  • I'd be worried about breathing in lead though, not supposed to shoot guns in an enclosed area except with plenty of ventilation.

  • oh, ok. Thanks.

  • The suppressor actually removes alot of the lead vapour by condensating inside the barrel. Of course it's still not a good idea to fire in an enclosed space but the lead count is drastically reduced

  • no, my pellet rifle is much louder then the powder less 22 rounds.

  • @lazybeams Nah man i shoot my airgun outside and no one calls the cops but it sounds like maybe 3/5 of what a .22 normal sounds like sure just make sure you wear eye protection and aim only at what you wanna shoot they willbouce off the walls or go in

  • @lazybeams why the hell do u need to shoot a gun in you basement?!?!?

  • lol .22 is not even loud 2 begin with but even quieter ammo thats cool u can now shoot in ur backyard without disturbing any1

    NICE VID 5/5 stars

  • nice review

  • Are the CB longs quiet enough to shoot in your backyard?

  • the scope is dead on, i just wasn't trying to impress anyone with accuracy. It was purely for noise and impact comparison.

  • i think ur rifle is off by about an inch to the left and an inch high

i would adjust that but good video

  • i like CBs the best out of those

  • Great test, the best on quiet 22 ammo I can find on youtube! I got a question hope you can answer. I've been thinking about doing some shooting in my basement with the Super Colibri. The problem is the ventilation in my basement isn't too strong and I was wondering if these rounds give out a lot of smell?

  • no smell.. to me it doesnt seem any different then firing a pellet rifle. The RWS ones have a hint of smell but not much.

  • Thanks going to try them out.

  • Awesome test man those things are quiet as heck.I have a question for you though.I have a single action revolver thats a 22lr/22mag would it shoot those CB rounds? It doesnt say not to but it doesnt say your supposed to either.

  • where do u get this quiet ammo

  • Do a google search for CCI CB Long and Aguila Super Colibri. The RWS has been discontinued. There are plenty of big and small ammo distributors online, but the CCI stuff can also be found locally at Walmart, etc..
