Bo Lozoff said in his book "We're All Doing Time", that meditation is just sitting still. It can be that simple. But we are complicated beings! Is the Sahasrara Chakra the collector of Prana? Interesting videos. I'll have to try your methods.
Here, if the video says, actual reatihng stops , it means that the internal breathing starting from top chakra(nerve centre) to lowest nerve centre happens.. this is the best phase.. means.. you are free of all diseases.. :)
You are translating it too literally it does not state that all breathing stops but rather that your awareness of it and other aspects of the body and mind are not present. Some people can breathe even in a coma
I like this vido very much. Howerver, I can't catch some words or phrases in this video due to that my mother language is not English. I wander is there anybody could give me the commentary txt of this video or tell me where to get it? I really appreciate and acknowledge for that! My email is y_x_boy@hotmail.com.
Yes, not thinking is difficult and quite francly may seem impossible but
there are multiple techniques to train your concentration mainly focusing on one thought like a mantra or trying to watch a single spot in front of you and see for how long you can maintain that concentration. Just throwing this in there...
@screamcrazy observation is simply being aware of whatever is arising in your own awareness as it happens. it is hard not to observe what is happening. The trick is maintaining your observation - what I mean here is that you may begin to observe your breath but then something else will arise (thoughts etc) and your mind will get caught up in that. All you do simply notice and then bring your awareness back to the present.
One other thing worth mentioning is that for meditation to be effective it is important NOT to judge ANYTHING that arises in your mind. Simply observe it is something transitory - here one second gone the next and bring your awareness back to the eternal now.
does it really work because i suffer from severe depression and agrophobia and i really don't want to go back on medication ,i feel as though i'm slowly goin mad !!!?!!
im not preessing meditation apon you but if you meditate it allows you to forget everything in the present. if you do meditate, you will begin to notice that you have more energy, more awareness, and less anxiety. all i can really say is try it for yourself.

There is no base, no key to learn meditation from this video, ..friends don't wast your time and your money to learn nothing except dreaming.....even dreaming may not happens without taking the right step to get the experience ......
people who put this video know nothing about the technique of mediation, .......only Trancendental Mediation is the answer (TM program) .
that means your body is tired and need rest....i had the same problem and was advised to sleep more..sleep deprivation can cause this!!!! also do this earlier in day rather then just before going to bed!!
i think you are not in a good posture. Sit straight and whenever you fell asleep wake up wash you face and try it after 10 15 min. do it just 15 min daily ..slowly increase the duration.
can someone please answer this question for me. with so many kinds of meditation programs out there (i.e Burt Goldman the mind box, the silva life method, which tells you that you need to program your subconcious mind by mentally speaking to it), how do you know if your really doing the right thing in terms of meditateing.
@Puurplex Dont try to stop the thoughts, be the witness. If you try to stop which means you are raging a war by mind against mind, which is nothing but taking drugs for mental illness. Let the thoughts flow in and out, just watch them coming in and going out... be The Witness..
@Puurplex Dont think about letting your thoughts go, give yourself the time you need to let it happen by itself. Just relax and hear your breathing or heart.
@Puurplex What I am doing is relaxing and just tell yourself " relax, this time is for me to just relax." and i think it's like training your mind to let go of any thoughts and stress and it will get better with time.
I think im at the no thought stage. I can relax and get to that point. however i did struggle and noticed that when the breath became really short i started to force it and held my breath a little. and consequently tensed up.
when i succeded though i started to feel lightness in the head area and it seems to coincide with the "in between the eybrows" part of this vdeo.
ive only been doin this three days but i think im naturally adept. does anybody have any tips at this stage?
I've felt the smae thing to multilover i felt like i was spinning slowly and it got kinda faster as i noticed in my mind them i started to see in the blank darkness of my mind faded colors of green orange yellow and blue and red but idk if im doin it right
all those colors are colors of the chakra; energy points in the body, your missing 2 tho maybe look it up and excersize the 2 missing ones, along with the rest as well :)
would like to give a tip. I sat down thinking I will not get up unless I feel some thing and it worked for me. About 30 minutes later I forgot I was breathing(no thought state I believe) and soon after I felt I was moving clock wise. I was moving so fast (it was harder than if someone move my physical body) I stared having a headache and stopped..can`t wait to try again..good luck to all of you
have stopped meditating now. i don't even need to meditate, even when i close my eyes i can feel myself getting into somewhere else. so i m afraid even to close my eyes. how do i overcome this
I recently became interested in meditation and did some research. A few days ago I found a web page stating pros and cons on meditation. there were research and studies done that found that there are side effects if meditation is done incorrectly. Mainly psychological problems I think. Try to google it if it's important to you.
It also mentioned something about causing confusion and depression in certain people. From my short research on the subject, meditation is a method to control thoughts, like auto- suggestion, and positive thinking. You are what you believe. Focus on compassion, love, and positive thinking, the way of buddhism. meditation is suppose to help with concentration and focus, and to empty the mind. Maybe you need a guidance or a teacher. Hope this helps.
I agree with your post. I quit meditating many years ago because I ran into roadblocks of sorts. I was quite good at it. Things manifested quite easily but I felt so dead inside for some reason. I could basically have anything I wanted really. It got a bit scary though. A teacher is a great recommendation. I probably would have continued if I knew what was happening to me but at the time I just didn't. I do recommend meditation but try to find someone to help you. It can be quite powerful. Peace
i meditated for 3 days before sleeping i felt myself going into some kind of completely dark bunker and so many things occured within my head.now i think i m havin sideeffect.even when i m sitting whereever or whenever my head feels kinda dizzy and heavy. i can't concentrate on one thing.i m gettin uncontrolled. i ?
there are actualy tons of different other ways to meditate. if u find it not wokin next tim eround dnt beat urself up abt it. it can be simple but difficult to master. if u find urself geting anxious ur fighting against something/problem. and if u get crazy after a few days/weeks of meditation u letting the emtions all out. different results for different people. there can be people who dnt need much meditation, and there can be a meditator who had been traumatised in thier life.
I didn't understand the part that discusses how much time you should spend meditating in a sitting. Can you over-meditate? I tend to do it for 1 hour+ on some sittings b/c I enjoy it.
I tried this. I actually tried this for 20 minutes a day for the past 3 weeks. Nothing. I can't get into Nirmal Sthithi or whatever... I can't get to the 'no thought state' where cosmic energy is abundant. Has anyone attained to this "Nirmal Sthithi" and can anyone give me tips on how to attain to it? I meditate for 20 minutes but apparantly that's not long enough to get to Nirmal Sthithi.
You should try to meditate longer, just do it relaxed, like you done it a thousand times, keep it natural, don't keep a timer for exact 20 minutes meditation, meditate till you feel relaxed and comfortable, if you feel like your not for meditation don't do it, make a break, then try again, and don't expect results after 3 weeks, people meditate there whole life, the results will come, you just need to be patient.
i think you are trying way too hard. Once you meditate, you are really in a state of relaxation and awareness. Chillout, just practice your technique and over time you'll find you'll be there. Right nwo you're just running for the end point, but you're running in the wrong direction bcuz you're not relaxed. No offense but you probably haven't even begun stage 1 correctly. Just relax and breathe. Let your mind unfocus to refocus your energy.
@keep7up -> Nirmal stihiti. takes very long time , may be months, years depending on the individual.. . But once you are in this.. you are free of all diseases..

"by observing our normal breathing, we transcend the mind"
-> Observing is a conscient action of the mind, isn't it? How could we transcend it if we use it?
Did I missed something ? Maybe I don't get the real sense of "observing". Can someone light me?
