This film was brilliant!!! Randomly stumbled across after taking afew sleeping pills and it made for an interesting ride.... I love artistic witty films like this.. AND by the way.... Did anyone notice that Jude Law and Michael Caine are the only two people in this movie... A MOVIE WITH ONLY TWO CAST MEMBERS??? BLOODY FUCKING BRILLIANT

The script rewrite was OK and redid the somewhat tedious second half of the original, after the inspector scene. But the director and cinematographer got in the way of this film with grossly self-indulgent camera angles and tech gadgetry, as if to call attention to THEM rather than the story! The high-tech surveillance was unnatural and distracting! Lousy idea! They tried too hard. The original was much better. No "joke blood" line either. Inspector scene was not believable this time.

Veo q eres espanol asi q t respondere en espanol,yo he usado emule desde marzo del 2006 y era lento para bajar los videos d musica,peliculas,es cierto q demoran xq pesan 1 huevo d MB,pero usando el ares esos mismas peliculas me bajaban en menos tiempo,mas rapido,y eso q yo siempre bajaba los videos con mas disponibilidad q supuestamente son los q bajan mas rapido,y no es solo cosa d mi computadora,las personas q les recomende emule y lo instalaron me decian los mismo,q era lento para bajar

The original Sleuth is one of my fav films, so any remake is bound to be a disappointment. The worst thing about this is casting Jude Law, a pretty boy lightweight.

I was looking forward to this, seeing as I'm a fan of Caine's acting and a fan of the original movie. But so much looks wrong for the remake! Where is the John Addison theme that was so infectuous that it has been used in countless movie trailers since? Where is Wyke's charm and playful mischieviousness? Where is Milo's clown costume, even? It looks like they took a genius, old-school, low-tech psychological thriller and made it into a high-tech, watered-down mess.
