Er actually - he is just reacting to the excellent musicians behind him rather than controlling them. They rehearse so they know the endings and what counts they are going to do and there are subtle interchanges through body movements which have a symbiotic dance as it were, so the signals are that they are still together, but believe me, if you get fantasttic musicians together with a top class vocalist, by the time the public sees it, it is already sorted!

His explaining the back story was to help his fans 'gets it'. But their joyful screaming talking voided his effort. I still prefer The Cats' version. Please hear it. This is the 5th worst interpretation of this song #1 Bon-Jovi, #2 Springsting, #3 Bruce Willis and #4 Dolly Parton. Even the Drifters missed the pain I believe the writer was feeling when he wrote this song.He was wheelchair bound and fearful as he tells her to "Danc with..."
