@hcvang lmao, yeah that was shocking, you can see it was based on some pretentious idea that cos it worked for Live Aid that anyone could suddenly release some half arsed single and save something, there was alot of that thinking in 1985 afte the success of the original but just goes to show how deluded some in the TV and media are.
@bluejeckett Yeah, and it's still going on, isnt it? I know they've done a couple of charity songs in denmark every two or three years since... whenever a charity needs money, some indie producer does a song which he hopes will make a nae of him.
This was apparently inspired by the "feed the world" concert and incredibly treated as though its cause was just as important. What on earth were these people thinking of? I'm not surprised the casual viewers deserted the show in droves after that.
did you miss the bit were says profits from this record go to cancer relief? they attempted to use pop culture to help people and get what they want, what's wrong with that?
PUN INTENDED=)P-*WHO* sings this? I mean the actual voices?-THERES NUTHIN WRONG WITH SONG-U DONT LIKE IT CUZ U NOT B OF 2 GENERATIONS/?DECADES? THAT HAD GREATEST PERCUSSIVE/BASS BEATS IN HISTORY OF 1980S-1980S HAD UP AND INTO 1999*BEST NITECLUB HIPHOPBOOTY-BASS:WHEN THE CARS GO BOOM REMIX...LETS DO THE TIMEWARP AGAIN=)
Eighteen months is too long to wait! Hah! Try sixteen years! That takes stamina. If anything, this terrible song added to the public degradation of Doctor Who in the 80's.
Ian Levine made some of the best disco music during the late 70s with James Wells, Barbara Pennington, and Croisette to name a very small few. But even he admits this was a miscalculation on his part. I don't hold it against him because it shows how passionate he is about the show, and it needed someone with pull in the industry to save the old episodes from destruction, otherwise the suits at the BBC don't really care.
Well not really ..... I sort of evolved/nicked it from someone who mentioned "pectoral embellishments". Nicola might have a great voice but she can't sing for s**t . Seen her in a couple of theatre plays though and she is a very good actress. She is currently doing an advert on TV for Bold Detergent.
Yeah, I thought the first woman singing was Nicola Bryant. I just saw the video here on Youtube and I can see that I was wrong! I agree that she is a terrible, terrible singer. She sounds like Bernie from "The Catherine Tate Show"
It's a shame Faith Brown (frontmost left) never got her tits out on the front cover of the record otherwise they would have probably sold a helluva lot more discs LOL
What were they Thinking!!!!

I'm a BIG Doctor Who fan (abet an old school one so I've always known about this song) but one thing has always bugged me about this one.....
Why would anyone moan about a show not being on the air for a longer than normal length of time?
(Never mind the fact that 'The Trail of a Time Lord' was crap barring 'Mindwarp')
It's not as though they axed it (like back in 1989.....)
Still it's not all that bad....

I think this song is woeful but I listen at least once a week. Is that a sign of mental illness? :D

Sometimes watching or listening to something awful makes you feel better about yourself, in an "I could do better than that" way.....
