As beautiful as this song is, I don'T listen to it very often, because I always get depressed by it, because it makes me think of how this rotten world we live in will never have anything comparable to the worlds of Final Fantasy. There would never be such great friends in this world as there are in those games. Because, if I look around here, everyone I know can be a complete asshole, at least sometimes in some way. When I think about it that way, Kefka did just the right thng to do.
@MeingroessterFan That's not true. I never had many friends when I first found this song, but I have people who'd gladly die with and for me now. It just takes the right effort and lots of searching. Be prepared to let your shields down and take risks. And choose the correct people.
@MrJarlix Yeah. Got bullied in primary school, and although nowadays I don't get bullied anymore and get along with the others, they still don't really care about me. That's even worse, actually. It isn't a big surprise, since I got autism and don't get in contact with people easily, but that doesn't makes it any better. I don't claim to have a particulary cruel fate, but it still is enough to kill off any believe in true friendship and love, except maybe between parents and children.

@tdbsnr The Final Fantasy IX footage that you called garbage is there due to the fact that the actual music used was from the game, all Kate did was add lyrics to it. The song 'You're Not Alone' is easily my favourite compositions from Final Fantasy IX, because it was such a emotional part of the game for Zidane who was normally care free, but to here such a wonderful voice give lyrics to it was phenomenal.
Anybody can compose a beautiful work with enough time, experimentation, and concentration, but little can sing it like you can! Your voice is absolutely stunning. :)

This is beautiful, but would have been perfect if the original chords were kept in full. I know that interpretations don't have to be exact transcriptions, and simplification is not necessarily a bad thing, but with this particular song, I feel like something is lost without the original composition.

Yeah, it could be. Just don't forget that it's a song about camaradie and friendship - not just Garnet, but EVERYONE was standing behind and beside Zidane when this song was playing. Turning it into JUST a romance thing actually WEAKENS the deep and intricate meaning behind the song.

@AvatarWho You're right, I'm so used to supportive songs from one lover to the other from these Final Fantasy games. Like Tidus and Yuna, Squall and Rinoa, Cecil and Rosa. I started playing this game for the first time at the start of the month so I'm not really picking everything up the first time.
I think that makes the song even more wonderful since it's ALL of Zidane's friends.
In my opinion, FFIX had the best soundtrack, and this song is so beautiful, in the way it is composed, in the singing, in the lyrics - in everything! I recently studied abroad in South Korea and I was lonely and missing my family and boyfriend - I listened to this song and it gave me hope =]

Impressive. That track always brought a tear to my eye. And while the acoustics don't match (or illicit the same response), the lyrics fit the track to a T.
Fun fact, Final fantasy 9 was the final game in the seiries for the playstation 1. So the developers wanted to get in touch with their roots. They set it in a medieval setting, brought back the job classes, and centered it around the Crystal(s). Now it seems every final fantasy has a futuristic theme.
go final fantasy 9!!!! by far the best final fantasy game made in close with 8 and 7 but final fantasy 9's story is so beautiful :) they need to make one like this or maybe even remake it thatd be awesome haha
@TheKelticblaze I still think that the best final fantasy games are 4 and 6 but on the PSX if I have to chose between 7, 8 and 9 I would say that 9 realy was the one that captured the most the essence of the series.

This is beautiful, but would have been perfect if the original chords were kept in full. I know that interpretations don't have to be exact transcriptions, and simplification is not necessarily a bad thing, but with this particular song, I feel like something is lost without the original composition.

Yeah, it could be. Just don't forget that it's a song about camaradie and friendship - not just Garnet, but EVERYONE was standing behind and beside Zidane when this song was playing. Turning it into JUST a romance thing actually WEAKENS the deep and intricate meaning behind the song.

@AvatarWho I think you're right. The special thing about this song is that it's not about the love between a couple like Garnet and Zidane but about the love between good friends who would do anything for each other.
Even so kate's remake of this song is very beautiful, one of the most beautiful remakes if heard! I love it so much!

@AvatarWho You're right, I'm so used to supportive songs from one lover to the other from these Final Fantasy games. Like Tidus and Yuna, Squall and Rinoa, Cecil and Rosa. I started playing this game for the first time at the start of the month so I'm not really picking everything up the first time.
I think that makes the song even more wonderful since it's ALL of Zidane's friends.

In my opinion, FFIX had the best soundtrack, and this song is so beautiful, in the way it is composed, in the singing, in the lyrics - in everything! I recently studied abroad in South Korea and I was lonely and missing my family and boyfriend - I listened to this song and it gave me hope =]

The only reason I did not cry while listening to this song was because I was in the middle of the bookstore! It was so beautiful! Everytime I hear your song it makes me want to sing! Fun fact, Final fantasy 9 was the final game in the seiries for the playstation 1. So the developers wanted to get in touch with their roots. They set it in a medieval setting, brought back the job classes, and centered it around the Crystal(s). Now it seems every final fantasy has a futuristic theme.
