  • I want this video on my 6070 phone.

  • Your video is popular on Bogota

  • Don't like being an A-hole, and I do agree with everything you said regarding manufacturing overseas and the quality of craftsmanship, but may I ask as to the quality of the testing gear you used and testing setup in general? The centers may not be perfectly true to one another (as in centered and leveled), everything seems a little shaky, so it could affect the reading on your indicators, etc.I'd suggest testing it more professionally and sending that video to Ron himself and to his superiors!

  • @aryesegal1988 Perfectly true to one another? Its not in a chuck and doesn't have a cutting tool on a carrageway... whats to be true with?

  • Your damn right man, we gotta get American engineering back to what it used to be. Fuck China

  • @SteezySteez2011 We could use some more jobs for are fellow Americans. Do you remember the MADE WITH PRIDE IN THE USA !

  • That name sounds familar ( RON ) my boy has a kx 01 kx 100 and we've had the top end done, this will be the 3rd time now..the clip keeps coming out of the piston and detroying it after 10 min. of run time..I find it funny that I can talk to other people ( at shops ) and tell them the clip came out on a top end and they all ask me if it was a kx 100...I've been back and forth 4 days with RON trying to get some answers...WISECO SUCKS..!!!

  • @laid89 Fuck the wiseco dude,go german brand WOSSNER PISTON KIT!

  • @laid89 i had a circlip come out of a brand new top end kit on one of my 07 yz250f's and as a result the wristpin backed out of the piston and destroyed the cylinder, i thought ok maybe the mechanic did something wrong, replaced it with an oem piston(and a fucking cylinder) and went riding and all was fine. 2 months later i put a wiseco top end in my 125 and the clip backed out again and got stuck in the powervalve and yet again destroyed another cylinder. see if i ever buy wiseco again.

  • I would certainly say that the over intrusive roles of government in big business have certainly destroyed the incentives of manufacturers maintaining jobs here in the states, and that CNC machining has certainly had a degenerative effect on the manual arts of it all.

Anything american made is most definitely NWO approved, from UAW abuse, to intrusive regulations, nothing good is made in the states anymore...too expensive.

  • There is a company called Falicon that has been in the crankshaft business for many years and could help with all these problems described here. Their quality is the best in the business. Google them and check them out. Good luck.

  • I borrow my niebors lathe and buy the factory rod kit now, lots more hassle, but its the olny way to get it right. By the way i have a brand new wiseco crank for sale make offer, olny ran about 5 minutes!

  • just put one of these cranks in my bike and fired it and died after 5 seconds, pulled cylinder and bottom is locked up. thank you wiseco!

  • the whole world is fucked. harley internals are made by yamaha. everything is from china or taiwan. and clueless americans just keep waving their chinese made flags talking about patriotism.

  • Damn what a piece of crap crank, gosh damn wiseco, they aint so wise for making these crappy cranks, thx for the informational video maico masher.

  • fasterthanyou22, stupider than most. This "Old" man still races motocross with the boys like you and WINS! put your money where your mouth is and show up to the local Gussie races and get a taste dickhead.

  • hey fasterthanyou22, go and race at a Gussie race and race this guy, he still races with the little boys like you and works out still, running and biking in the woods,,, just for fun. Tougher than nails and the "old" men in this area and they aren't stupid like you are. At least we can spell!

  • FIRST of all you never measure the tin can covers on honda cranks. this crank might be crap but they all get assembled in a jig(china or anywhere else) and are not moveable as other cranks because of the tin cover. OEM is always a better crank.

  • @tonewall1 I measured every thing . One of my points was the tin cover is .030" larger diameter than stock which allowed dragging against the crankcase.

  • What's the runout on your pegboard background? It seems to be moving around alot.

  • @elebeu My brother-in-law Tom Cole. was the pegboard operator

  • horroble crank i bought a rod for my yz125 and it didnt fit the only way it would fit was to grind it down the rod on the sides. ended up buying the stock oem rod

  • i hate wiseco they suck ass

  • CAN this problem be fixed? I have alot of cranks made in china and I always wonder about the balance and run out. Each crank tops out different. What steps or where can i go to make sure my two stroke crankshaft is in top shape? Thanks. 5 star.

  • @DIOSpeedDemon Lancaster Aermacchi Sprint can fix you up.

  • be carefull or avoid buying wiseco cranks for kx85. i was supplied with wiseco crank for kx85 which turned out to be an 80 crank with smaller big end, looked and fitted the same but did not last too long. also had much trouble with wiseco piston rings for thumper racing`s yamaha wr280 kit. the oil rings expander had a very sharply folded ends which would break after about 10 hours use.thumper racing were no help and always blamed the fitter but rings were redesigned in the end

  • thumper racing`s 280 kit wrecked the wr250 in the end .where the barrel was overbored and replated it made the lower protrusion weak which then broke totally trashing the engine.

  • ill be there old man, youre goin down

  • lol you act like if i hopped on a yz450f dirtbike i would be completely clueless of what to do. You and your walker isnt going to be able to keep up with me on any mx track or in the woods old man. I started out on dirtbikes and i still own them. Im aloud to ride both arent i? or am i breaking the rules

  • This is a stupid conversation .Lets just both ride Bill Gusse's Moose run next year.

  • @maicomasher i agree,4rm now on ill b fiiting oem crank.mmmm wiseco product i herd a dodgy.thanks nice vid.

  • Id be more inclined to believe you when you tell me of such accomplishments if you werent bitching about something as expected as this. Any crank that is not an oem factory crank i have had balanced. thats racing tough guy, simple as that. takes money, time, and frustration to succeed.

  • If your faster than everyone try racing with two less wheels on your Quad or your truck so that us old guys on mx bikes can keep up with your fasterthanyourmouth. This 55 year old will compete against you on a MX track, flattrack or woods LOL. LOL

  • You're funny faster-than-you, keep it coming.

  • Tawaiin! What the hell! I never knew!

  • Hey, why dont you go get it balanced dumbass. Why dont you go to hot rods and get a crank from them, you'll find damn near as many problems. Go get it balanced for your application. Racing isnt a get it and go thing, takes work and money. Anybody that doesnt know that when they get involved with it will be out of the running quick.

  • How old are you Mr. know it all? Would you like to compare racing accomplishments for a 20 year time period . Or compare your Tool & Die Journeymans Certificate. Or 34 year machine shop accomplishments ?

  • Some recall details below. YouTube won't let me post the URL of from the USCPSC:

Name of product: Off-Road Dirt Bike Connecting Rods or Crankshaft Assemblies

Importer: Wiseco Performance Products, of Mentor, Ohio

Hazard: Engine stress could cause the connecting rods to crack and the engine to lock up, posing a crash hazard.

  • Wiseco had a big product recall according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently.

  • far east made shite! manufacture must come back to America and Britain. we need to cut the far east out to get out of the global downturn, the skills are here, we don't all want to work pushing pallet trucks about as my (British) government seems to think!

  • @bassistmatt What about Australia and NewZealand? They are further east than Taiwan.

  • I hate to tell you dude, but your motorcycle wasn't made in America either. shame on you for buying it!! Evil american!!

  • Like we have any choice. I try.

  • No it was made in Japan Have you ever owned a bike from China? They are complete junk and dont compare to a Japanese bike whatsoever

  • im really glad i seen this wiseco bottem end is out of question to bad hot rods are junk to o well oem with a wiesco top end

  • I had the tin shear off on my Wiseco crank. These things are garbage.

  • Got the same crank for my 1995 CR250R no problems!!! diameter was .004" larger than stock and width was.003" less and runout .002"

  • I had quite an ordeal trying to get a Wiseco crank in my TRX250R. OEM would slip right into the main bearings, the Wiseco took about a day's worth of hammering on a block to get it to seat, then a couple more days of hammering to get it to turn freely. I pulled it out the first chance I got and tossed it on the bench. I was hoping that the bike cranks would be better due to higher volumes, but I guess not.

  • Do not beat the crank into the bearing they are delicate. You must heat the bearing and cool the crank then the crank will just fall in with no pounding.

  • Anything short of outright malice would not get this crank to seat. I heated the bearings (a LOT) and had the crank in the freezer over night, and that junk wouldn't go in. It took hammering (through a block of wood, of course) to get it to seat. And I'm not talking hammering like hammering a nail, I'm talking full body, full rotation swings while another guy holding the block prayed I didn't miss, because he was definitely losing whatever got hit. And then I had to get it all to turn.

  • I'm familiar with smaller one cylinder cranks but. I've been working with a wide range of diesel cranks ranging from three cylinders all the up to KT50 and DD 149 engines. With these cranks you do the rough machining from the centers then into the furnace for some stress relief. Once it's out of the furnace you have to re-establish the datums the engine wants. Typically you grind the mains back to the center line establishing the datum then grind the rods to the same datum.

  • Why do you have two turning centers if you have no lathe?

  • It looks like a crank truing stand, not a lathe.

  • @V650strom Just a fetish I guess.

  • Not to say the crank is good or bad but your checking it from centers which I'm sure is not the correct datum.

  • What did they locate from to grind the crank journals?

  • It looks like you have a lathe so turn it down .030 and go racing.

  • Did you see a lathe?

  • @V650strom Turn down the crimped on tin cover ? It would come apart.

  • thanks for teling this to people...

  • This crank was purchased through Parts Unlimited. They did not replace it with a useable one. I did get some of my money back but not the shipping cost. I waited a month for the desision from PU.

  • This crank was only installed into the mag. side engine case. In the video I did mention the outer diameter is .030" larger than stock. Yes for performance this is a plus. Being .030" larger with .005" TIR. up and down, -not- side TIR.,causes a slight interference in one spot within the crank case.
