  • @bluesyinfinity its a fact that the world is going to change and musicians contribute a lot .If music is dedicated to God then it never fades.Deep music comes with love.Hopefully all will understand that the Holy Ghost is our mother behind our wanders.Jai Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.

  • Lovely

  • Ralph. A brilliant, sensitive, introspective guitarist who gave his life to this instrument in such a way that it will never be forgotten. He is perennial and timeless. I shall always want to hear this sound for calming, for healing; for deep thinking and for dreaming.

  • sem dúvida, fluidez e articulação perfeita, porque Towner sabe reconhecer a temperatura de cada passagem

  • It's jazz but it sounds almost flamenco

  • Thank you so much:)

  • Simply... uao!!! Thanks for posting!

  • just such good music, thanks for putting the video up. Do you know what year this was recorded?

  • Une technique vraiment complète et personnelle. Le Top !

  • One and only!

  • lovely

  • i better brush on my jazz...i love this shit

  • Un verdadero Maestro. Ese es el verdadero virtuosismo, la fluidez y articulación perfecta de las frases...

  • Bump for the Towner family =)

  • That's what a classical guitar should sound like....

  • Ralph is the Segovia of our times

  • romantism in pure essence. last forever.

  • It's so beautiful that hearing him play makes one wish he could live forever.

  • Ralph will live forever. Guitarists will do the job!

  • Poesia en guitarra.lirismo melodico de hondo sentimiento en manos de un gran maestro de la guitarra española.

  • Ever gorgeous music of R. Towner....

  • Ralph is the best guitarist/composer in his sort. Great melodies witness this piece. Tears in my eyes. I saw him twice with Oregon in Holland. The only two times they where here in 30 years. I follow him {musically}. Can anyone provide my the notes of this piece?? or is this never published?? You can contact me by this site. It is not a problem to pay. Thanks in advance. If not, can anyone tell me where to buy this sheet music.

  • You can buy the sheet music at Amazon. Solo Guitar Works Volume 1. You´re welcome!

  • "The Reluctant Bride"

  • u can find this song in his cd "Ana"

  • he's great, thanks for the video man!

  • There is so much of Villa-Lobos in this piece! Beautiful.

  • He wrote it to be in the style of Tarrega, but I hear your point, as well...

  • I've been a Ralph Towner fan since '75 when his record "Solstice" came out. It's more jazz (with Jan Garbarek on reeds, Eberhard Weber on Bass and Jon Christensen on Drums) than his later stuff. Beautiful but a bit different. All Towner fans should have it if they don't already.

  • I second that! This album was my introduction to Ralph Towner and to the whole ECM scene. A landmark.

  • The title of this song is THE RELUCTANT BRIDE from his cd ANA

  • This is a gorgeous and hauntingly beautiful ballad! For me, Mr. Towner is the master of the ecm sound ...its all there: a taste of melancholy, impressionism, and a sence of mystery. I noticed the improv is better than on record, very natural sounding.

I saw this for sale online once but didnt have the money to get it, about 6 months later they didnt have it and havent seen it since. Ive been a tonwer fan for over 20 yrs and never had the chance to see im play so thank you for this!

  • Many artists have rated Ralph Towner as being the worlds greatest guitarist (Larry Coryell for one). He never fails to create beauty and elegance. Back a few decades ago he wrote "Beneath an evening sky" which i regard as one of the most enchanting pieces of music ever written. It still nearly has me in tears today whenever i hear it. Thank you for this clip.

  • Great video quality. Ralph can just 'go there'. I still haven't come back.

  • He is fantastic, and was a major influence on my getting a 12 string. I wish there was vid of him playing his 12er.

  • Wonderful. Towner is one of the best improvisers and composers for the guitar today. You can buy the music from Guitar Solo in San Francisco: http://www.gspguitar.com

I believe they're the publishers for Ralph's song books.

  • Fantastic. He's a great writer for the instrument, and a beautiful musician. Never seen any of these videos you've added. WHERE CAN I GET THE DVD? Any Oregon? Really great of you to add these.

  • Hi, thanks for your comments. To teel you the truth, I won these videos from a teacher, who have won them from another student. I don't know their lineage. Nevertheless, I've been a Ralph Towner fan since 1980. When browsing for videos of him on this site, I got surprised there was none, so I realized it was up to me to share these ones that I had in my HDD (and it's all I have of Towner). Best wishes :D

  • @G303

    Bibi
