I can see why the people would think she is doing graffiti but if they took a second to let her explain they would realize.... She found a really cool way to get her message out there and she actually feels more deeply about the issue then most of the people looking at her like she did something bad... Hats off to you...

There are ways to do this with a little less elbow grease! I think it is fantastic that you use the dirt to communicate. The painting over is pretty symbolic of the way some cities think. Would it not have been better to just clean it off?

They didnt use graffiti to cover it up, the council probably just PAINTED over it (probably not even with "bio-paint" ;) the one love part at the end is probably just... some hippie spraying ;) either way, hope more and more people will start screaming their thoughts in service of the public... (we get "public survice announcements" stuffed down our throats even if it isn't really a "service" so we better do it ourselves...

@theaterhobo I don't think they covered it up with graffiti. I assume the city officials had someone paint that ugly square over the cleaning like they would regular graffiti and then someone unrelated came along and sprayed the "one love" over the ugly square.

@BeekersSqueakers wow. deface the wall more when all they had to do was wash it. that means there's a layer of dirt under all that paint AND the probably soon-to-be extra layer of graffiti. and it wasn't even like they were promoting a bad message.

The stencil is prepasted wallpaper so we just dip it in water, keep it wet and it partially sticks to the concrete wall.

The cleaner is just a normal household cleaner from Earthwise an eco friendly cleaning product - Any eco friendly cleaning product will do, you could probably do it with just water - those walls are filthy!!
